MOV : നീ എഴുന്നേറ്റു കുശവന്റെ വീട്ടിലേക്കു ചെല്ലുക; അവിടെവെച്ചു ഞാൻ നിന്നെ എന്റെ വചനങ്ങളെ കേൾപ്പിക്കും.
KJV : Arise, and go down to the potter’s house, and there I will cause thee to hear my words.
YLT : Rise, and thou hast gone down [to] the potter`s house, and there I cause thee to hear My words;

MOV : കുശവൻ കളിമണ്ണുകൊണ്ടു ഉണ്ടാക്കിയ പാത്രം അവന്റെ കയ്യിൽ ചീത്തയായിപ്പോയി; എന്നാൽ കുശവൻ അതിനെ തനിക്കു തോന്നിയതുപോലെ മറ്റൊരു പാത്രമാക്കിത്തീർത്തു.
KJV : And the vessel that he made of clay was marred in the hand of the potter: so he made it again another vessel, as seemed good to the potter to make [it. ]
YLT : and marred is the vessel that he is making, as clay in the hand of the potter, and he hath turned and he maketh it another vessel, as it was right in the eyes of the potter to make.

ERVEN : He was making a pot from clay. But there was something wrong with the pot. So the potter used that clay again, and he made another pot. He used his hands to shape the pot the way that he wanted it to be.

MOV : യിസ്രായേൽഗൃഹമേ, ഈ കുശവൻ ചെയ്തതുപോലെ എനിക്കു നിങ്ങളോടു ചെയ്‍വാൻ കഴികയില്ലയോ എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു; യിസ്രായേൽഗൃഹമേ, കളിമണ്ണു കുശവന്റെ കയ്യിൽ ഇരിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ നിങ്ങൾ എന്റെ കയ്യിൽ ഇരിക്കുന്നു.
KJV : O house of Israel, cannot I do with you as this potter? saith the LORD. Behold, as the clay [is] in the potter’s hand, so [are] ye in mine hand, O house of Israel.
YLT : As this potter am I not able to do to you? O house of Israel, an affirmation of Jehovah. Lo, as clay in the hand of the potter, So [are] ye in My hand, O house of Israel.

KJV : [At what] instant I shall speak concerning a nation, and concerning a kingdom, to pluck up, and to pull down, and to destroy [it; ]
YLT : The moment I speak concerning a nation, And concerning a kingdom, To pluck up and to break down, and to destroy,

MOV : ഞാൻ അങ്ങനെ അരുളിച്ചെയ്ത ജാതി തന്റെ ദുഷ്ടത വിട്ടു തിരിയുന്നുവെങ്കിൽ അതിനോടു ചെയ്‍വാൻ നിരൂപിച്ച ദോഷത്തെക്കുറിച്ചു ഞാൻ അനുതപിക്കും.
KJV : If that nation, against whom I have pronounced, turn from their evil, I will repent of the evil that I thought to do unto them.
YLT : And that nation hath turned from its evil, Because I have spoken against it, Then I have repented of the evil that I thought to do to it.

MOV : അതു എന്റെ വാക്കു കേട്ടനുസരിക്കാതെ എനിക്കു അനിഷ്ടമായുള്ളതു ചെയ്യുന്നുവെങ്കിൽ അവർക്കു വരുത്തും എന്നു അരുളിച്ചെയ്ത നന്മയെക്കുറിച്ചു ഞാൻ അനുതപിക്കും.
KJV : If it do evil in my sight, that it obey not my voice, then I will repent of the good, wherewith I said I would benefit them.
YLT : And it hath done the evil thing in Mine eyes, So as not to hearken to My voice, Then I have repented of the good That I have spoken of doing to it.

MOV : ആകയാൽ നീ ചെന്നു യെഹൂദാപുരുഷന്മാരോടും യെരൂശലേംനിവാസികളോടും പറയേണ്ടതു: യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: ഞാൻ നിങ്ങൾക്കു ഒരനർത്ഥം നിർമ്മിച്ചു, നിങ്ങൾക്കു വിരോധമായി ഒരു നിരൂപണം നിരൂപിക്കുന്നു; നിങ്ങൾ ഓരോരുത്തനും താന്താന്റെ ദുർമ്മാർഗ്ഗം വിട്ടുതിരിഞ്ഞു നിങ്ങളുടെ നടപ്പും പ്രവൃത്തികളും നന്നാക്കുവിൻ.
KJV : Now therefore go to, speak to the men of Judah, and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, saying, Thus saith the LORD; Behold, I frame evil against you, and devise a device against you: return ye now every one from his evil way, and make your ways and your doings good.
YLT : And now, speak, I pray thee, unto men of Judah, And against inhabitants of Jerusalem, Saying: Thus said Jehovah: Lo, I am framing against you evil, And devising against you a device, Turn back, I pray you, each from his evil way And amen your ways and your doings.

ESV : Now, therefore, say to the men of Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem: 'Thus says the LORD, behold, I am shaping disaster against you and devising a plan against you. Return, every one from his evil way, and amend your ways and your deeds.'
ERVEN : "So, Jeremiah, say to the people of Judah and those who live in Jerusalem, 'This is what the Lord says: I am preparing troubles for you right now. I am making plans against you. So stop doing the evil things you are doing. Each person must change and start doing good things.'

KJV : And they said, There is no hope: but we will walk after our own devices, and we will every one do the imagination of his evil heart.

MOV : അതുകൊണ്ടു യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: ജാതികളുടെ ഇടയിൽ ചെന്നു അന്വേഷിപ്പിൻ; ഇങ്ങനെയുള്ളതു ആരെങ്കിലും കേട്ടിട്ടുണ്ടോ? യിസ്രായേൽകന്യക അതിഭയങ്കരമായുള്ളതു ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു.
KJV : Therefore thus saith the LORD; Ask ye now among the heathen, who hath heard such things: the virgin of Israel hath done a very horrible thing.
YLT : Therefore, thus said Jehovah: Ask, I pray you, among the nations, Who hath heard like these? A very horrible thing hath the virgin of Israel done.

ERVEN : Listen to what the Lord says: "Ask the other nations this question: 'Have you ever heard of anyone doing the evil things that Israel has done?' And Israel is special to God. Israel is like God's bride!

MOV : ലെബാനോനിലെ ഹിമം വയലിലെ പാറയെ വിട്ടുപോകുമോ? അന്യദേശത്തുനിന്നു ഒഴുകിവരുന്ന തണുത്ത വെള്ളം വറ്റിപ്പോകുമേ?
KJV : Will [a man] leave the snow of Lebanon [which cometh] from the rock of the field? [or] shall the cold flowing waters that come from another place be forsaken?
YLT : Doth snow of Lebanon Cease from the rock of the field? Failed are the cold strange waters that flow?
RV : Shall the snow of Lebanon fail from the rock of the field? {cf15i or} shall the cold waters that flow down from afar be dried up?
RSV : Does the snow of Lebanon leave the crags of Sirion? Do the mountain waters run dry, the cold flowing streams?

ERVEN : You know that rocks never leave the fields by themselves. You know that the snow on the mountains of Lebanon never melts. You know that cool, flowing streams don't become dry.

MOV : എന്റെ ജനമോ എന്നെ മറന്നു മിത്ഥ്യാമൂർത്തികൾക്കു, ധൂപം കാട്ടുന്നു; അവരുടെ വഴികളിൽ, പുരാതന പാതകളിൽ തന്നേ, അവർ അവരെ ഇടറി വീഴുമാറാക്കി; അവർ നിരപ്പില്ലാത്ത വഴികളിലും പാതകളിലും നടക്കുന്നു;
KJV : Because my people hath forgotten me, they have burned incense to vanity, and they have caused them to stumble in their ways [from] the ancient paths, to walk in paths, [in] a way not cast up;
YLT : But My people have forgotten Me, to a vain thing they make perfume, And they cause them to stumble in their ways -- paths of old, To walk in paths -- a way not raised up,
RV : For my people hath forgotten me, they have burned incense to vanity; and they have caused them to stumble in their ways, in the ancient paths, to walk in bypaths, in a way not cast up;
RSV : But my people have forgotten me, they burn incense to false gods; they have stumbled in their ways, in the ancient roads, and have gone into bypaths, not the highway,
ASV : For my people have forgotten me, they have burned incense to false gods; and they have been made to stumble in their ways, in the ancient paths, to walk in bypaths, in a way not cast up;
ESV : But my people have forgotten me; they make offerings to false gods; they made them stumble in their ways, in the ancient roads, and to walk into side roads, not the highway,
ERVEN : But my people have forgotten about me. They make offerings to worthless idols. My people stumble in the things they do. They stumble about in the old paths of their ancestors. My people would rather walk along back roads and poor highways than to follow me on the good roads.

KJV : To make their land desolate, [and] a perpetual hissing; every one that passeth thereby shall be astonished, and wag his head.

ERVEN : So Judah's country will become an empty desert. People will whistle and shake their heads every time they pass by. They will be shocked at how the country was destroyed.

MOV : കിഴക്കൻ കാറ്റുകൊണ്ടെന്നപോലെ ഞാൻ അവരെ ശത്രുക്കളുടെ മുമ്പിൽ ചിതറിച്ചുകളയും; അവരുടെ അനർത്ഥദിവസത്തിൽ ഞാൻ അവർക്കു എന്റെ മുഖമല്ല, പുറമത്രേ കാണിക്കും.
KJV : I will scatter them as with an east wind before the enemy; I will shew them the back, and not the face, in the day of their calamity.
YLT : As an east wind I scatter them before an enemy, The neck, and not the face, I shew them, In the day of their calamity.`

MOV : എന്നാൽ അവർ: വരുവിൻ, നമുക്കു യിരെമ്യാവിന്റെ നേരെ ഉപായങ്ങളെ ചിന്തിക്കാം; പുരോഹിതന്റെ പക്കൽ ഉപദേശവും ജ്ഞാനിയുടെ പക്കൽ ആലോചനയും പ്രവാചകന്റെ പക്കൽ അരുളപ്പാടും ഇല്ലാതെപോകയില്ല; വരുവിൻ നാം അവനെ നാവുകൊണ്ടു കൊന്നുകളക; അവന്റെ വാക്കു ഒന്നും നാം ശ്രദ്ധിക്കരുതു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
KJV : Then said they, Come, and let us devise devices against Jeremiah; for the law shall not perish from the priest, nor counsel from the wise, nor the word from the prophet. Come, and let us smite him with the tongue, and let us not give heed to any of his words.

ERVEN : Then the enemies of Jeremiah said, "Come, let us make plans against Jeremiah. Surely the teaching of the law by the priest will not be lost, and the advice from the wise men will still be with us. We will still have the words of the prophets. So let us tell lies about him. That will ruin him. We will not pay attention to anything he says."

MOV : നന്മെക്കു പകരം തിന്മ ചെയ്യാമോ? അവർ എന്റെ പ്രാണഹാനിക്കായിട്ടു ഒരു കുഴി കുഴിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; നിന്റെ കോപം അവരെ വിട്ടുമാറേണ്ടതിന്നു ഞാൻ അവർക്കുവേണ്ടി നന്മ സംസാരിപ്പാൻ തിരുമുമ്പിൽ നിന്നതു ഓർക്കേണമേ.
KJV : Shall evil be recompensed for good? for they have digged a pit for my soul. Remember that I stood before thee to speak good for them, [and] to turn away thy wrath from them.

ERVEN : I have been good to the people of Judah, but now they are paying me back with evil. They are trying to trap me and kill me.

KJV : Therefore deliver up their children to the famine, and pour out their [blood] by the force of the sword; and let their wives be bereaved of their children, and [be] widows; and let their men be put to death; [let] their young men [be] slain by the sword in battle.
