MOV : സഹോദരന്മാരേ, തേജസ്സുള്ളവനായി നമ്മുടെ കർത്താവായ യേശുക്രിസ്തുവിൽ വിശ്വസിക്കുന്ന നിങ്ങൾ മുഖപക്ഷം കാണിക്കരുതു.
KJV : My brethren, have not the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, [the Lord] of glory, with respect of persons.
YLT : My brethren, hold not, in respect of persons, the faith of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ,

ERVEN : You show special attention to the person wearing nice clothes. You say, "Sit here in this good seat." But you say to the poor person, "Stand there!" or "Sit on the floor by our feet!"

MOV : നിങ്ങൾ ഉള്ളിൽ പ്രാമാണമില്ലാതെ ന്യായരഹിതമായി വിധിക്കുന്നവരായില്ലയോ?
KJV : Are ye not then partial in yourselves, and are become judges of evil thoughts?
YLT : ye did not judge fully in yourselves, and did become ill-reasoning judges.
RV : are ye not divided in your own mind, and become judges with evil thoughts?
RSV : have you not made distinctions among yourselves, and become judges with evil thoughts?
ASV : Do ye not make distinctions among yourselves, and become judges with evil thoughts?

ERVEN : Doesn't this show that you think some people are more important than others? You set yourselves up as judges—judges who make bad decisions.

MOV : പ്രിയ സഹോദരന്മാരേ, കേൾപ്പിൻ: ദൈവം ലോകത്തിൽ ദരിദ്രരായവരെ വിശ്വാസത്തിൽ സമ്പന്നരും തന്നേ സ്നേഹിക്കുന്നവർക്കു വാഗ്ദത്തം ചെയ്ത രാജ്യത്തിന്റെ അവകാശികളുമാകേണ്ടതിന്നു തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്തില്ലയോ? നിങ്ങളോ ദരിദ്രനെ അപമാനിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.
KJV : Hearken, my beloved brethren, Hath not God chosen the poor of this world rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which he hath promised to them that love him?
YLT : Hearken, my brethren beloved, did not God choose the poor of this world, rich in faith, and heirs of the reign that He promised to those loving Him?
RV : Hearken, my beloved brethren; did not God choose them that are poor as to the world {cf15i to be} rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which he promised to them that love him?
RSV : Listen, my beloved brethren. Has not God chosen those who are poor in the world to be rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom which he has promised to those who love him?
ASV : Hearken, my beloved brethren; did not God choose them that are poor as to the world to be rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which he promised to them that love him?
ESV : Listen, my beloved brothers, has not God chosen those who are poor in the world to be rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom, which he has promised to those who love him?
ERVEN : Listen, my dear brothers and sisters. God chose the poor people in the world to be rich in faith. He chose them to receive the kingdom God promised to those who love him.

MOV : ധനവാന്മാർ അല്ലയോ നിങ്ങളെ പീഡിപ്പിക്കുന്നതു? അവർ അല്ലയോ നിങ്ങളെ ന്യായസ്ഥാനങ്ങളിലേക്കു ഇഴെച്ചു കൊണ്ടുപോകുന്നതു?
KJV : But ye have despised the poor. Do not rich men oppress you, and draw you before the judgment seats?
YLT : and ye did dishonour the poor one; do not the rich oppress you and themselves draw you to judgment-seats;
RV : But ye have dishonoured the poor man. Do not the rich oppress you, and themselves drag you before the judgment-seats?
RSV : But you have dishonored the poor man. Is it not the rich who oppress you, is it not they who drag you into court?

ERVEN : But you show no respect to those who are poor. And you know that the rich are the ones who always try to control your lives. And they are the ones who take you to court.

MOV : നിങ്ങളുടെമേൽ വിളിച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന നല്ല നാമത്തെ അവർ അല്ലയോ ദുഷിക്കുന്നതു?
KJV : Do not they blaspheme that worthy name by the which ye are called?
YLT : do they not themselves speak evil of the good name that was called upon you?
RV : Do not they blaspheme the honourable name by the which ye are called?
RSV : Is it not they who blaspheme that honorable name which was invoked over you?
ASV : Do not they blaspheme the honorable name by which ye are called?
ESV : Are they not the ones who blaspheme the honorable name by which you were called?
ERVEN : And the rich are the ones who insult the wonderful name of Christ, the name by which you are known.

KJV : If ye fulfil the royal law according to the scripture, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself, ye do well:

ERVEN : One law rules over all other laws. This royal law is found in the Scriptures: "Love your neighbor the same as you love yourself." If you obey this law, you are doing right.

MOV : മുഖപക്ഷം കാണിച്ചാലോ പാപം ചെയ്യുന്നു; നിങ്ങൾ ലംഘനക്കാർ എന്നു ന്യായപ്രമാണത്താൽ തെളിയുന്നു.

MOV : ഒരുത്തൻ ന്യായപ്രമാണം മുഴുവനും അനുസരിച്ചു നടന്നിട്ടും ഒന്നിൽ തെറ്റിയാൽ അവൻ സകലത്തിന്നും കുറ്റക്കാരനായിത്തീർന്നു.
KJV : For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one [point,] he is guilty of all.
YLT : for whoever the whole law shall keep, and shall stumble in one [point], he hath become guilty of all;
RV : For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet stumble in one {cf15i point}, he is become guilty of all.
RSV : For whoever keeps the whole law but fails in one point has become guilty of all of it.
ASV : For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet stumble in one point, he is become guilty of all.
ESV : For whoever keeps the whole law but fails in one point has become accountable for all of it.
ERVEN : You might follow all of God's law. But if you fail to obey only one command, you are guilty of breaking all the commands in that law.

MOV : വ്യഭിചാരം ചെയ്യരുതു എന്നു കല്പിച്ചവൻ കുല ചെയ്യരുതു എന്നും കല്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു. നീ വ്യഭിചാരം ചെയ്യുന്നില്ലെങ്കിലും കുല ചെയ്യുന്നു എങ്കിൽ ന്യായപ്രമാണം ലംഘിക്കുന്നവനായിത്തീർന്നു.
KJV : For he that said, Do not commit adultery, said also, Do not kill. Now if thou commit no adultery, yet if thou kill, thou art become a transgressor of the law.
YLT : for He who is saying, `Thou mayest not commit adultery,` said also, `Thou mayest do no murder;` and if thou shalt not commit adultery, and shalt commit murder, thou hast become a transgressor of law;
RV : For he that said, Do not commit adultery, said also, Do not kill. Now if thou dost not commit adultery, but killest, thou art become a transgressor of the law.
RSV : For he who said, "Do not commit adultery," said also, "Do not kill." If you do not commit adultery but do kill, you have become a transgressor of the law.

ERVEN : God said, "Don't commit adultery. " The same God also said, "Don't kill." So if you don't commit adultery, but you kill someone, you are guilty of breaking all of God's law.

MOV : സ്വാതന്ത്ര്യത്തിന്റെ ന്യായപ്രമാണത്താൽ വിധിക്കപ്പെടുവാനുള്ളവരെപ്പോലെ സംസാരിക്കയും പ്രവർത്തിക്കയും ചെയ്‍വിൻ.
KJV : So speak ye, and so do, as they that shall be judged by the law of liberty.
YLT : so speak ye and so do, as about by a law of liberty to be judged,
RV : So speak ye, and so do, as men that are to be judged by a law of liberty.
RSV : So speak and so act as those who are to be judged under the law of liberty.
ASV : So speak ye, and so do, as men that are to be judged by a law of liberty.

ERVEN : You will be judged by the law that makes people free. You should remember this in everything you say and do.

MOV : കരുണ കാണിക്കാത്തവന്നു കരുണയില്ലാത്ത ന്യായവിധി ഉണ്ടാകും; കരുണ ന്യായവിധിയെ ജയിച്ചു പ്രശംസിക്കുന്നു.
KJV : For he shall have judgment without mercy, that hath shewed no mercy; and mercy rejoiceth against judgment.
YLT : for the judgment without kindness [is] to him not having done kindness, and exult doth kindness over judgment.
RV : For judgment {cf15i is} without mercy to him that hath shewed no mercy: mercy glorieth against judgment.
RSV : For judgment is without mercy to one who has shown no mercy; yet mercy triumphs over judgment.
ASV : For judgment is without mercy to him that hath showed no mercy: mercy glorieth against judgment.
ESV : For judgment is without mercy to one who has shown no mercy. Mercy triumphs over judgment.
ERVEN : Yes, you must show mercy to others. If you do not show mercy, then God will not show mercy to you when he judges you. But the one who shows mercy can stand without fear before the Judge.

MOV : സഹോദരന്മാരേ, ഒരുത്തൻ തനിക്കു വിശ്വാസം ഉണ്ടു എന്നു പറകയും പ്രവൃത്തികൾ ഇല്ലാതിരിക്കയും ചെയ്താൽ ഉപകാരം എന്തു? ആ വിശ്വാസത്താൽ അവൻ രക്ഷ പ്രാപിക്കുമോ?
KJV : What [doth it] profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him?
YLT : What [is] the profit, my brethren, if faith, any one may speak of having, and works he may not have? is that faith able to save him?
RV : What doth it profit, my brethren, if a man say he hath faith, but have not works? can that faith save him?
RSV : What does it profit, my brethren, if a man says he has faith but has not works? Can his faith save him?
ASV : What doth it profit, my brethren, if a man say he hath faith, but have not works? can that faith save him?
ESV : What good is it, my brothers, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can that faith save him?
ERVEN : My brothers and sisters, if someone says they have faith but do nothing, that faith is worth nothing. Faith like that cannot save anyone.

MOV : ഒരു സഹോദരനോ, സഹോദരിയോ നഗ്നരും അഹോവൃത്തിക്കു വക ഇല്ലാത്ത വരുമായിരിക്കെ നിങ്ങളിൽ ഒരുത്തൻ അവരോടു:
KJV : If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food,
YLT : and if a brother or sister may be naked, and may be destitute of the daily food,
RV : If a brother or sister be naked, and in lack of daily food,

ERVEN : Suppose a brother or sister in Christ comes to you in need of clothes or something to eat.

MOV : സമാധാനത്തോടെ പോയി തീ കായുകയും വിശപ്പടക്കുകയും ചെയ്‍വിൻ എന്നു പറയുന്നതല്ലാതെ ദേഹരക്ഷെക്കു ആവശ്യമുള്ളതു അവർക്കു കൊടുക്കാതിരുന്നാൽ ഉപകാരം എന്തു?
KJV : And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what [doth it] profit?
YLT : and any one of you may say to them, `Depart ye in peace, be warmed, and be filled,` and may not give to them the things needful for the body, what [is] the profit?
RV : and one of you say unto them, Go in peace, be ye warmed and filled; and yet ye give them not the things needful to the body; what doth it profit?
RSV : and one of you says to them, "Go in peace, be warmed and filled," without giving them the things needed for the body, what does it profit?

ERVEN : And you say to them, "God be with you! I hope you stay warm and get plenty to eat," but you don't give them the things they need. If you don't help them, your words are worthless.

MOV : അങ്ങനെ വിശ്വാസവും പ്രവൃത്തികളില്ലാത്തതായാൽ സ്വതവെ നിർജ്ജീവമാകുന്നു.
KJV : Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.
YLT : so also the faith, if it may not have works, is dead by itself.
RV : Even so faith, if it have not works, is dead in itself.
RSV : So faith by itself, if it has no works, is dead.

KJV : Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works.
YLT : But say may some one, Thou hast faith, and I have works, shew me thy faith out of thy works, and I will shew thee out of my works my faith:
RV : Yea, a man will say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith apart from {cf15i thy} works, and I by my works will shew thee {cf15i my} faith.
RSV : But some one will say, "You have faith and I have works." Show me your faith apart from your works, and I by my works will show you my faith.

ESV : But someone will say, "You have faith and I have works." Show me your faith apart from your works, and I will show you my faith by my works.
ERVEN : But someone might argue, "Some people have faith, and others have good works." My answer would be that you can't show me your faith if you don't do anything. But I will show you my faith by the good I do.

MOV : ദൈവം ഏകൻ എന്നു നീ വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നുവോ; കൊള്ളാം; പിശാചുകളും അങ്ങനെ വിശ്വസിക്കയും വിറെക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നു.
KJV : Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.
YLT : thou -- thou dost believe that God is one; thou dost well, and the demons believe, and they shudder!
RV : Thou believest that God is one; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and shudder.
RSV : You believe that God is one; you do well. Even the demons believe -- and shudder.

ERVEN : You believe there is one God. That's good, but even the demons believe that! And they shake with fear.

MOV : വ്യർത്ഥമനുഷ്യാ, പ്രവൃത്തിയില്ലാത്ത വിശ്വാസം നിഷ്ഫലമെന്നു ഗ്രഹിപ്പാൻ നിനക്കു മനസ്സുണ്ടോ?
KJV : But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?
YLT : And dost thou wish to know, O vain man, that the faith apart from the works is dead?
RV : But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith apart from works is barren?
RSV : Do you want to be shown, you shallow man, that faith apart from works is barren?
ASV : But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith apart from works is barren?
ESV : Do you want to be shown, you foolish person, that faith apart from works is useless?
ERVEN : You fool! Faith that does nothing is worth nothing. Do you want me to prove this to you?

MOV : നമ്മുടെ പിതാവായ അബ്രാഹാം തന്റെ മകനായ യിസ്ഹാക്കിനെ യാഗപീഠത്തിന്മേൽ അർപ്പിച്ചിട്ടു പ്രവൃത്തിയാൽ അല്ലയോ നീതീകരിക്കപ്പെട്ടതു?
KJV : Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar?
YLT : Abraham our father -- was not he declared righteous out of works, having brought up Isaac his son upon the altar?
RV : Was not Abraham our father justified by works, in that he offered up Isaac his son upon the altar?
RSV : Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he offered his son Isaac upon the altar?
ASV : Was not Abraham our father justified by works, in that he offered up Isaac his son upon the altar?
ESV : Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered up his son Isaac on the altar?
ERVEN : Our father Abraham was made right with God by what he did. He offered his son Isaac to God on the altar.

MOV : അവന്റെ പ്രവൃത്തിയോടുകൂടെ വിശ്വാസം വ്യാപരിച്ചു എന്നും പ്രവൃത്തിയാൽ വിശ്വാസം പൂർണ്ണമായി എന്നും നീ കാണുന്നുവല്ലോ.
KJV : Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect?
YLT : dost thou see that the faith was working with his works, and out of the works the faith was perfected?
RV : Thou seest that faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect;
RSV : You see that faith was active along with his works, and faith was completed by works,
ASV : Thou seest that faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect;
ESV : You see that faith was active along with his works, and faith was completed by his works;
ERVEN : So you see that Abraham's faith and what he did worked together. His faith was made perfect by what he did.

MOV : അബ്രാഹാം ദൈവത്തെ വിശ്വസിക്കയും അതു അവന്നു നീതിയായി കണക്കിടുകയും ചെയ്തു എന്നുള്ള തിരുവെഴുത്തു നിവൃത്തിയായി അവൻ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ സ്നേഹിതൻ എന്നു പേർ പ്രാപിച്ചു.
KJV : And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God.
YLT : and fulfilled was the Writing that is saying, `And Abraham did believe God, and it was reckoned to him -- to righteousness;` and, `Friend of God` he was called.

ERVEN : This shows the full meaning of the Scriptures that say, "Abraham believed God, and because of this faith he was accepted as one who is right with God." Abraham was called "God's friend."

MOV : അങ്ങനെ മനുഷ്യൻ വെറും വിശ്വാസത്താലല്ല പ്രവൃത്തികളാൽ തന്നേ നീതീകരിക്കപ്പെടുന്നു എന്നു നിങ്ങൾ കാണുന്നു.
KJV : Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only.
YLT : Ye see, then, that out of works is man declared righteous, and not out of faith only;

ERVEN : So you see that people are made right with God by what they do. They cannot be made right by faith alone.

ERVEN : Another example is Rahab. She was a prostitute, but she was made right with God by something she did. She helped those who were spying for God's people. She welcomed them into her home and helped them escape by a different road.
