KJV : Concerning the Ammonites, thus saith the LORD; Hath Israel no sons? hath he no heir? why [then] doth their king inherit Gad, and his people dwell in his cities?
YLT : Concerning the sons of Ammon: `Thus said Jehovah: Sons -- hath Israel none? heir -- hath he none? Wherefore hath Malcam possessed Gad? And his people in its cities have dwelt?
RV : Of the children of Ammon. Thus saith the LORD: Hath Israel no sons? hath he no heir? why then doth Malcam possess Gad, and his people dwell in the cities thereof?
RSV : Concerning the Ammonites. Thus says the LORD: "Has Israel no sons? Has he no heir? Why then has Milcom dispossessed Gad, and his people settled in its cities?
ASV : Of the children of Ammon. Thus saith Jehovah: Hath Israel no sons? hath he no heir? why then doth Malcam possess Gad, and his people well in the cities thereof?
ESV : Concerning the Ammonites.Thus says the LORD: "Has Israel no sons? Has he no heir? Why then has Milcom dispossessed Gad, and his people settled in its cities?
ERVEN : This message is about the Ammonites. This is what the Lord says: "Ammonites, do you think that the people of Israel don't have children? Do you think there are no children to take the land when the parents die? Maybe that is why Milcom took Gad's land?"

KJV : Therefore, behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will cause an alarm of war to be heard in Rabbah of the Ammonites; and it shall be a desolate heap, and her daughters shall be burned with fire: then shall Israel be heir unto them that were his heirs, saith the LORD.
YLT : Therefore, lo, days are coming, An affirmation of Jehovah, And I have sounded unto Rabbah of the sons of Ammon a shout of battle, And it hath been for a heap -- a desolation, And her daughters with fire are burnt, And Israel hath succeeded its heirs, Said hath Jehovah.
RV : Therefore, behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will cause an alarm of war to be heard against Rabbah of the children of Ammon; and it shall become a desolate heap, and her daughters shall be burned with fire: then shall Israel possess them that did possess him, saith the LORD.

ESV : Therefore, behold, the days are coming, declares the LORD, when I will cause the battle cry to be heard against Rabbah of the Ammonites; it shall become a desolate mound, and its villages shall be burned with fire; then Israel shall dispossess those who dispossessed him, says the LORD.
ERVEN : The Lord says, "The time will come in Rabbah of Ammon when people hear the sounds of battle. Rabbah of Ammon will be destroyed. It will be an empty hill covered with ruined buildings, and the towns around it will be burned. Those people forced the people of Israel to leave their own land. But later, Israel will force them to leave." This is what the Lord said.

MOV : ഹെശ്ബോനേ, മുറയിടുക; ഹായി ശൂന്യമായ്പോയിരിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ; രബ്ബയുടെ പുത്രീനഗരങ്ങളേ, നിലവിളിപ്പിൻ; രട്ടുടുത്തുകൊൾവിൻ; വിലപിച്ചുകൊണ്ടു വേലികൾക്കരികെ ഉഴന്നുനടപ്പിൻ! മൽക്കോമും അവന്റെ പുരോഹിതന്മാരും പ്രഭുക്കന്മാരും എല്ലാം പ്രവാസത്തിലേക്കു പോകും.
KJV : Howl, O Heshbon, for Ai is spoiled: cry, ye daughters of Rabbah, gird you with sackcloth; lament, and run to and fro by the hedges; for their king shall go into captivity, [and] his priests and his princes together.
YLT : Howl, Heshbon, for spoiled is Ai, Cry, daughters of Rabbah, gird on sackcloth, Lament, and go to and fro by the hedges, For Malcam into captivity doth go, His priests and his princes together.

ERVEN : "People in Heshbon, cry because the town of Ai is destroyed! Women in Rabbah of Ammon, cry! Put on sackcloth and cry. Run to the city for safety, because the enemy will take away the god Milcom, with his priests and officials.

MOV : ആർ എന്റെ നേരെ വരും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു തന്റെ ഭണ്ഡാരങ്ങളിൽ ആശ്രയിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കുന്ന വിശ്വാസത്യാഗിനിയായ പുത്രീ, താഴ്വരകളിൽ നീ പ്രശംസിക്കുന്നതെന്തിന്നു? നിന്റെ താഴ്വരകൾ ഒഴുകിപ്പോകുന്നു.
KJV : Wherefore gloriest thou in the valleys, thy flowing valley, O backsliding daughter? that trusted in her treasures, [saying,] Who shall come unto me?
YLT : What -- dost thou boast thyself in valleys? Flowed hath thy valley, O backsliding daughter, Who is trusting in her treasures: Who doth come in unto me?
RV : Wherefore gloriest thou in the valleys, thy flowing valley, O backsliding daughter? that trusted in her treasures, {cf15i saying}, Who shall come unto me?
RSV : Why do you boast of your valleys, O faithless daughter, who trusted in her treasures, saying, `Who will come against me?'
ASV : Wherefore gloriest thou in the valleys, thy flowing valley, O backsliding daughter? that trusted in her treasures, saying, Who shall come unto me?
ESV : Why do you boast of your valleys, O faithless daughter, who trusted in her treasures, saying, 'Who will come against me?'
ERVEN : You brag about your strength, but you are losing your strength. You trust in your wealth to save you. You think no one would even think of attacking you."

MOV : ഇതാ നിന്റെ ചുറ്റുമുള്ള എല്ലാവരാലും ഞാൻ നിനക്കു ഭയം വരുത്തും എന്നു സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവയായ കർത്താവിന്റെ അരുളപ്പാടു നിങ്ങൾ ഓരോരുത്തൻ താന്താന്റെ ചൊവ്വിന്നു ചിതറിപ്പോകും; ഉഴന്നുനടക്കുന്നവരെ കൂട്ടിച്ചേർപ്പാൻ ആരും ഉണ്ടാകയില്ല.
KJV : Behold, I will bring a fear upon thee, saith the Lord GOD of hosts, from all those that be about thee; and ye shall be driven out every man right forth; and none shall gather up him that wandereth.
YLT : Lo, I am bringing in upon thee a fear, An affirmation of the Lord Jehovah of Hosts, From all round about thee, And ye have been driven out each before it, And there is no gatherer of the wandering.
RV : Behold, I will bring a fear upon thee, saith the Lord, the LORD of hosts, from all that are round about thee; and ye shall be driven out every man right forth, and there shall be none to gather up him that wandereth.
RSV : Behold, I will bring terror upon you, says the Lord GOD of hosts, from all who are round about you, and you shall be driven out, every man straight before him, with none to gather the fugitives.
ASV : Behold, I will bring a fear upon thee, saith the Lord, Jehovah of hosts, from all that are round about thee; and ye shall be driven out every man right forth, and there shall be none to gather together the fugitives.
ESV : Behold, I will bring terror upon you, declares the Lord GOD of hosts, from all who are around you, and you shall be driven out, every man straight before him, with none to gather the fugitives.
ERVEN : But this is what the Lord All-Powerful says: "I will bring troubles to you from every side. You will all run away, and no one will be able to bring you together again."

MOV : എന്നാൽ ഒടുക്കം ഞാൻ അമ്മോന്യരുടെ പ്രവാസം മാറ്റും എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.
KJV : And afterward I will bring again the captivity of the children of Ammon, saith the LORD.
YLT : And after this I turn back the captivity of the sons of Ammon, An affirmation of Jehovah.`
RV : But afterward I will bring again the captivity of the children of Ammon, saith the LORD.
RSV : But afterward I will restore the fortunes of the Ammonites, says the LORD."

ERVEN : "The Ammonites will be taken away as captives. But the time will come when I will bring the Ammonites back." This message is from the Lord.

KJV : Concerning Edom, thus saith the LORD of hosts; [Is] wisdom no more in Teman? is counsel perished from the prudent? is their wisdom vanished?
YLT : Concerning Edom: `Thus said Jehovah of Hosts: Is wisdom no more in Teman? Perished hath counsel from the intelligent? Vanished hath their wisdom?
RV : Of Edom. Thus saith the LORD of hosts: Is wisdom no more in Teman? is counsel perished from the prudent? is their wisdom vanished?

ERVEN : This message is about Edom. This is what the Lord All-Powerful says: "Is there no more wisdom in Teman? Are the wise men of Edom not able to give good advice? Have they lost their wisdom?

MOV : ദെദാൻ നിവാസികളേ, ഓടിപ്പോകുവിൻ; പിന്തിരിഞ്ഞു കുഴികളിൽ പാർത്തുകൊൾവിൻ; ഞാൻ ഏശാവിന്റെ ആപത്തു, അവന്റെ ദർശനകാലം തന്നേ, അവന്നു വരുത്തും.
KJV : Flee ye, turn back, dwell deep, O inhabitants of Dedan; for I will bring the calamity of Esau upon him, the time [that] I will visit him.
YLT : Flee, turn, go deep to dwell, ye inhabitants of Dedan, For the calamity of Esau I brought in upon him, The time I inspected him.
RV : Flee ye, turn back, dwell deep, O inhabitants of Dedan; for I will bring the calamity of Esau upon him, the time that I shall visit him.

ERVEN : You people living in Dedan, run away and hide, because I will punish Esau for the bad things he did.

MOV : മുന്തിരിപ്പഴം പറിക്കുന്നവർ നിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വന്നാൽ കാലാ പറിപ്പാൻ ചിലതു ശേഷിപ്പിക്കയില്ലയോ? രാത്രിയിൽ കള്ളന്മാർ വന്നാൽ തങ്ങൾക്കു മതിയാകുവോളം മാത്രമല്ലോ നശിപ്പിക്കുന്നതു?
KJV : If grapegatherers come to thee, would they not leave [some] gleaning grapes? if thieves by night, they will destroy till they have enough.
YLT : If gatherers have come in to thee, They do not leave gleanings, If thieves in the night, They have destroyed their sufficiency!

ERVEN : "Workers pick grapes from grapevines, but they leave a few grapes on the plants. If thieves come at night, they don't take everything.

MOV : എന്നാൽ ഏശാവിനെ ഞാൻ നഗ്നമാക്കി അവന്റെ ഗൂഢസ്ഥലങ്ങളെ അനാവൃതമാക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു; അവന്നു ഒളിച്ചുകൊൾവാൻ കഴികയില്ല; അവന്റെ സന്തതിയും സഹോദരന്മാരും അയൽക്കാരും നശിച്ചുപോയി; അവനും ഇല്ലാതെ ആയിരിക്കുന്നു.
KJV : But I have made Esau bare, I have uncovered his secret places, and he shall not be able to hide himself: his seed is spoiled, and his brethren, and his neighbours, and he is not.
YLT : For I -- I have made Esau bare, I have uncovered his secret places, And to be hidden he is not able, Spoiled [is] his seed, and his brethren, And his neighbours, and he is not.

ERVEN : But I will take everything from Esau. I will find all his hiding places. He will not be able to hide from me. His children, relatives, and neighbors will all die.

MOV : യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: പാനപാത്രം കുടിപ്പാൻ അർഹതയില്ലാത്തവർ കുടിക്കേണ്ടിവന്നു; പിന്നെ നിനക്കു ശിക്ഷ വരാതെ പോകുമോ? നിനക്കു ശിക്ഷ വരാതെ പോകയില്ല; നീയും കുടിക്കേണ്ടിവരും.
KJV : For thus saith the LORD; Behold, they whose judgment [was] not to drink of the cup have assuredly drunken; and [art] thou he [that] shall altogether go unpunished? thou shalt not go unpunished, but thou shalt surely drink [of it. ]
YLT : For thus said Jehovah: They whose judgment is not to drink of the cup, Do certainly drink, And thou [art] he that is entirely acquitted! Thou art not acquitted, for thou certainly drinkest.
RV : For thus saith the LORD: Behold, they to whom it pertained not to drink of the cup shall assuredly drink; and art thou he that shall altogether go unpunished? thou shalt not go unpunished, but thou shalt surely drink.
RSV : For thus says the LORD: "If those who did not deserve to drink the cup must drink it, will you go unpunished? You shall not go unpunished, but you must drink.
ASV : For thus saith Jehovah: Behold, they to whom it pertained not to drink of the cup shall assuredly drink; and art thou he that shall altogether go unpunished? thou shalt not go unpunished, but thou shalt surely drink.
ESV : For thus says the LORD: "If those who did not deserve to drink the cup must drink it, will you go unpunished? You shall not go unpunished, but you must drink.
ERVEN : This is what the Lord says: "Some people don't deserve to be punished, but they suffer. But, Edom, you deserve to be punished, so you will really be punished. You will not escape the punishment you deserve. You will be punished."

MOV : ബൊസ്രാ സ്തംഭനവും നിന്ദയും ശൂന്യവും ശാപവുമായി ഭവിക്കും; അതിന്റെ എല്ലാപട്ടണങ്ങളും നിത്യശൂന്യങ്ങളായ്തീരും എന്നു ഞാൻ എന്നെക്കൊണ്ടു തന്നേ സത്യം ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.
KJV : For I have sworn by myself, saith the LORD, that Bozrah shall become a desolation, a reproach, a waste, and a curse; and all the cities thereof shall be perpetual wastes.
YLT : For, by Myself, I have sworn, An affirmation of Jehovah, That for a desolation, for a reproach, For a waste, and for a reviling -- is Bozrah, And all her cities are for wastes age-during.
RV : For I have sworn by myself, saith the LORD, that Bozrah shall become an astonishment, a reproach, a waste, and a curse; and all the cities thereof shall be perpetual wastes.
RSV : For I have sworn by myself, says the LORD, that Bozrah shall become a horror, a taunt, a waste, and a curse; and all her cities shall be perpetual wastes."
ASV : For I have sworn by myself, saith Jehovah, that Bozrah shall become an astonishment, a reproach, a waste, and a curse; and all the cities thereof shall be perpetual wastes.
ESV : For I have sworn by myself, declares the LORD, that Bozrah shall become a horror, a taunt, a waste, and a curse, and all her cities shall be perpetual wastes."
ERVEN : The Lord says, "By my own power, I make this promise: I promise that the city of Bozrah will be destroyed. It will become a ruined pile of rocks. People will use it as an example when they ask for bad things to happen to other cities. People will insult that city, and all the towns around Bozrah will become ruins forever."

MOV : നിങ്ങൾ ഒരുമിച്ചുകൂടി അതിന്റെ നേരെ ചെല്ലുവിൻ; യുദ്ധത്തിന്നായി എഴുന്നേല്പിൻ! എന്നിങ്ങനെ വിളിച്ചുപറവാൻ ഒരു ദൂതനെ ജാതികളുടെ അടുക്കലേക്കു അയച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നൊരു വർത്തമാനം ഞാൻ യഹോവയിങ്കൽനിന്നു കേട്ടു.
KJV : I have heard a rumour from the LORD, and an ambassador is sent unto the heathen, [saying,] Gather ye together, and come against her, and rise up to the battle.
YLT : A report I have heard from Jehovah, And an ambassador among nations is sent, Gather yourselves and come in against her, And rise ye for battle.
RV : I have heard tidings from the LORD, and an ambassador is sent among the nations, {cf15i saying}, Gather yourselves together, and come against her, and rise up to the battle.
RSV : I have heard tidings from the LORD, and a messenger has been sent among the nations: "Gather yourselves together and come against her, and rise up for battle!"
ASV : I have heard tidings from Jehovah, and an ambassador is sent among the nations, saying, Gather yourselves together, and come against her, and rise up to the battle.
ESV : I have heard a message from the LORD, and an envoy has been sent among the nations: "Gather yourselves together and come against her, and rise up for battle!
ERVEN : I heard a message from the Lord: He sent this messenger to the nations. This is the message: "Gather your armies together! Get ready for battle! March against the nation of Edom!

MOV : ഞാൻ നിന്നെ ജാതികളുടെ ഇടയിൽ ചെറിയവനും മനുഷ്യരുടെ ഇടയിൽ നിന്ദിതനും ആക്കും.
KJV : For, lo, I will make thee small among the heathen, [and] despised among men.
YLT : For, lo, little I have made thee among nations, Despised among men.

ERVEN : Edom, I will make you become unimportant. Everyone will hate you.

KJV : Thy terribleness hath deceived thee, [and] the pride of thine heart, O thou that dwellest in the clefts of the rock, that holdest the height of the hill: though thou shouldest make thy nest as high as the eagle, I will bring thee down from thence, saith the LORD.
YLT : Thy terribleness hath lifted thee up, The pride of thy heart, O dweller in clefts of the rock, Holding the high place of the height, For thou makest high as an eagle thy nest, From thence I bring thee down, An affirmation of Jehovah.
RV : As for thy terribleness, the pride of thine heart hath deceived thee, O thou that dwellest in the clefts of the rock, that holdest the height of the hill: though thou shouldest make thy nest as high as the eagle, I will bring thee down from thence, saith the LORD;
RSV : The horror you inspire has deceived you, and the pride of your heart, you who live in the clefts of the rock, who hold the height of the hill. Though you make your nest as high as the eagle's, I will bring you down from there, says the LORD.
ASV : As for thy terribleness, the pride of thy heart hath deceived thee, O thou that dwellest in the clefts of the rock, that holdest the height of the hill: though thou shouldest make thy nest as high as the eagle, I will bring thee down from thence, saith Jehovah.
ESV : The horror you inspire has deceived you, and the pride of your heart, you who live in the clefts of the rock, who hold the height of the hill. Though you make your nest as high as the eagle's, I will bring you down from there, declares the LORD.
ERVEN : Edom, you scared other nations, so you thought you were important. But your pride has fooled you. You live in caves, high on the cliff. Your home is high in the hills. But even if you build your home as high as an eagle's nest, I will bring you down from there." This is what the Lord said.

ERVEN : "Their camels are there to be taken in battle. Their large herds of cattle will be yours. I will scatter them throughout the earth—those people who cut their hair short. I will bring disaster on them from every direction." This message is from the Lord.
