MOV : മനുഷ്യപുത്രാ, നീ നിന്റെ സ്വജാതിക്കാരോടു പ്രവചിച്ചു പറയേണ്ടതു: ഞാൻ ഒരു ദേശത്തിന്റെ നേരെ വാൾ വരുത്തുമ്പോൾ, ആ ദേശത്തിലെ ജനം തങ്ങളുടെ കൂട്ടത്തിൽനിന്നു ഒരു പുരുഷനെ തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്തു കാവൽക്കാരനായി വെച്ചാൽ,
KJV : Son of man, speak to the children of thy people, and say unto them, When I bring the sword upon a land, if the people of the land take a man of their coasts, and set him for their watchman:
YLT : `Son of man, speak unto the sons of thy people, and thou hast said unto them: A land -- when I bring in against it a sword, And the people of the land have taken one man out of their borders, And made him to them for a watchman.

MOV : ദേശത്തിന്റെ നേരെ വാൾ വരുന്നതു കണ്ടിട്ടു അവൻ കാഹളം ഊതി ജനത്തെ ഓർമ്മപ്പെടുത്തുമ്പോൾ
KJV : If when he seeth the sword come upon the land, he blow the trumpet, and warn the people;
YLT : And he hath seen the sword coming against the land, And hath blown with a trumpet, and hath warned the people,
RV : if, when he seeth the sword come upon the land, he blow the trumpet, and warn the people;
RSV : and if he sees the sword coming upon the land and blows the trumpet and warns the people;

MOV : ആരെങ്കിലും കാഹളനാദം കേട്ടു കരുതിക്കൊള്ളാതെ ഇരുന്നാൽ വാൾ വന്നു അവനെ ഛേദിച്ചുകളയുന്നു എങ്കിൽ അവന്റെ രക്തം അവന്റെ തലമേൽ തന്നേ ഇരിക്കും.
KJV : Then whosoever heareth the sound of the trumpet, and taketh not warning; if the sword come, and take him away, his blood shall be upon his own head.
YLT : And the hearer hath heard the voice of the trumpet, and he hath not taken warning, And come in doth the sword, and taketh him away, His blood is on his head.
RV : then whosoever heareth the sound of the trumpet, and taketh not warning, if the sword come, and take him away, his blood shall be upon his own head.

ERVEN : If people hear the warning but ignore it, the enemy will capture them and take them away as prisoners. They will be responsible for their own death.

MOV : അവൻ കാഹളനാദം കേട്ടിട്ടു കരുതിക്കൊണ്ടില്ല; അവന്റെ രക്തം അവന്റെമേൽ ഇരിക്കും; കരുതിക്കൊണ്ടിരുന്നുവെങ്കിൽ അവൻ തന്റെ പ്രാണനെ രക്ഷിക്കുമായിരുന്നു.
KJV : He heard the sound of the trumpet, and took not warning; his blood shall be upon him. But he that taketh warning shall deliver his soul.
YLT : The voice of the trumpet he heard, And he hath not taken warning, his blood is on him, And he who took warning his soul hath delivered.

ERVEN : They heard the trumpet, but they ignored the warning. So they are responsible for their own deaths. If they had paid attention to the warning, they could have saved their own lives.

MOV : എന്നാൽ കാവൽക്കാരൻ വാൾ വരുന്നതു കണ്ടു കാഹളം ഊതാതെയും ജനം കരുതിക്കൊള്ളാതെയും ഇരുന്നിട്ടു വാൾ വന്നു അവരുടെ ഇടയിൽനിന്നു ഒരുത്തനെ ഛേദിച്ചുകളയുന്നു എങ്കിൽ, ഇവൻ തന്റെ അകൃത്യംനിമിത്തം ഛേദിക്കപ്പെട്ടുപോയി എങ്കിലും അവന്റെ രക്തം ഞാൻ കാവൽക്കാരനോടു ചോദിക്കും.
KJV : But if the watchman see the sword come, and blow not the trumpet, and the people be not warned; if the sword come, and take [any] person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at the watchman’s hand.
YLT : And the watchman, when he seeth the sword coming in, And he hath not blown with a trumpet, And the people hath not been warned, And come in doth a sword, And taketh away of them -- a soul, He in his iniquity is taken away, And his blood from the hand of the watchman I require.

ERVEN : "'But what if the guard sees the enemy soldiers coming, but does not blow the trumpet? Since he doesn't warn the people, the enemy will capture them and take them away as prisoners. They will be taken away because they sinned, but the guard will also be responsible for their deaths.'

MOV : അതുപോലെ മനുഷ്യപുത്രാ, ഞാൻ നിന്നെ യിസ്രായേൽഗൃഹത്തിന്നു കാവൽക്കാരനാക്കി വെച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു, നീ എന്റെ വായിൽനിന്നു വചനം കേട്ടു എന്റെ നാമത്തിൽ അവരെ ഓർമ്മപ്പെടുത്തേണം.

ERVEN : "Now, son of man, I am choosing you to be a watchman for the family of Israel. If you hear a message from my mouth, you must warn the people for me.

MOV : ഞാൻ ദുഷ്ടനോടു: ദുഷ്ടാ, നീ മരിക്കും എന്നു കല്പിക്കുമ്പോൾ ദുഷ്ടൻ തന്റെ വഴി വിട്ടുതിരിവാൻ കരുതിക്കൊള്ളത്തക്കവണ്ണം നീ അവനെ പ്രബോധിപ്പിക്കാതെയിരുന്നാൽ ദുഷ്ടൻ തന്റെ അകൃത്യംനിമിത്തം മരിക്കും; അവന്റെ രക്തമോ ഞാൻ നിന്നോടു ചോദിക്കും.
KJV : When I say unto the wicked, O wicked [man,] thou shalt surely die; if thou dost not speak to warn the wicked from his way, that wicked [man] shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand.
YLT : In My saying to the wicked, O wicked one -- thou dost surely die, And thou hast not spoken to warn the wicked from his way, He -- the wicked -- in his iniquity doth die, And his blood from thy hand I require.

ERVEN : I might say to you, 'These evil people will die.' Then you must go warn them for me. If you don't warn them and tell them to change their lives, those evil people will die because they sinned. But I will make you responsible for their deaths.

MOV : എന്നാൽ ദുഷ്ടൻ തന്റെ വഴി വിട്ടുതിരിയേണ്ടതിന്നു നീ അവനെ ഓർമ്മപ്പെടുത്തീട്ടും അവൻ തന്റെ വഴി വിട്ടുതിരിയാഞ്ഞാൽ, അവൻ തന്റെ അകൃത്യംനിമിത്തം മരിക്കും, നീയോ, നിന്റെ പ്രാണനെ രക്ഷിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.
KJV : Nevertheless, if thou warn the wicked of his way to turn from it; if he do not turn from his way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul.
YLT : And thou, when thou hast warned the wicked of his way, to turn back from it, And he hath not turned back from his way, He in his iniquity doth die, And thou thy soul hast delivered.
RV : Nevertheless, if thou warn the wicked of his way to turn from it, and he turn not from his way; he shall die in his iniquity, but thou hast delivered thy soul.
RSV : But if you warn the wicked to turn from his way, and he does not turn from his way; he shall die in his iniquity, but you will have saved your life.

ERVEN : But if you do warn the evil people to change their lives and stop sinning, and if they refuse to stop, they will die because they sinned. But you have saved your life.

MOV : അതുകൊണ്ടു മനുഷ്യപുത്രാ, നീ യിസ്രായേൽ ഗൃഹത്തോടു പറയേണ്ടതു: ഞങ്ങളുടെ അതിക്രമങ്ങളും പാപങ്ങളും ഞങ്ങളുടെ മേൽ ഇരിക്കുന്നു; അവയാൽ ഞങ്ങൾ ക്ഷയിച്ചുപോകുന്നു; ഞങ്ങൾ എങ്ങനെ ജീവിച്ചിരിക്കും എന്നു നിങ്ങൾ പറയുന്നു.
KJV : Therefore, O thou son of man, speak unto the house of Israel; Thus ye speak, saying, If our transgressions and our sins [be] upon us, and we pine away in them, how should we then live?
YLT : And thou, son of man, say unto the house of Israel: Rightly ye have spoken, saying: Surely our transgressions and our sins [are] on us, And in them we are wasting away, How, then, do we live?
RV : And thou, son of man, say unto the house of Israel: Thus ye speak, saying, Our transgressions and our sins are upon us, and we pine away in them; how then should we live?
RSV : "And you, son of man, say to the house of Israel, Thus have you said: `Our transgressions and our sins are upon us, and we waste away because of them; how then can we live?'
ASV : And thou, son of man, say unto the house of Israel: Thus ye speak, saying, Our transgressions and our sins are upon us, and we pine away in them; how then can we live?
ESV : "And you, son of man, say to the house of Israel, Thus have you said: 'Surely our transgressions and our sins are upon us, and we rot away because of them. How then can we live?'
ERVEN : "So, son of man, speak to the family of Israel for me. They might say, 'We have sinned and broken the law. Our sins are too heavy to bear. We rot away because of them. What can we do to live?'

MOV : എന്നാണ, ദുഷ്ടന്റെ മരണത്തിൽ അല്ല, ദുഷ്ടൻ തന്റെ വഴി വിട്ടുതിരിഞ്ഞു ജീവിക്കുന്നതിൽ അത്രേ എനിക്കു ഇഷ്ടമുള്ളതെന്നു യഹോവയായ കർത്താവിന്റെ അരുളപ്പാടു; നിങ്ങളുടെ ദുർമ്മാർഗ്ഗങ്ങളെ വിട്ടുതിരിവിൻ, തിരിവിൻ; യിസ്രായേൽഗൃഹമേ, നിങ്ങൾ എന്തിന്നു മരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു അവരോടു പറക.
KJV : Say unto them, [As] I live, saith the Lord GOD, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die, O house of Israel?
YLT : Say unto them, I live -- an affirmation of the Lord Jehovah, I delight not in the death of the wicked, But -- in the turning of the wicked from his way, And he hath lived, Turn back, turn back, from your evil ways, Yea, why do ye die, O house of Israel?

ERVEN : "You must say to them, 'The Lord God says: By my life, I swear that I don't enjoy seeing people die—not even evil people! I don't want them to die. I want them to come back to me. I want them to change their lives so that they can really live. So come back to me! Stop doing bad things! Why must you die, family of Israel?'

KJV : Therefore, thou son of man, say unto the children of thy people, The righteousness of the righteous shall not deliver him in the day of his transgression: as for the wickedness of the wicked, he shall not fall thereby in the day that he turneth from his wickedness; neither shall the righteous be able to live for his [righteousness] in the day that he sinneth.
YLT : And thou, son of man, say unto the sons of thy people: The righteousness of the righteous doth not deliver him in the day of his transgression, And the wickedness of the wicked, He doth not stumble for it in the day of his turning from his wickedness, And the righteous is not able to live in it in the day of his sinning.
RV : And thou, son of man, say unto the children of thy people, The righteousness of the righteous shall not deliver him in the day of his transgression; and as for the wickedness of the wicked, he shall not fall thereby in the day that he turneth from his wickedness: neither shall he that is righteous be able to live thereby in the day that he sinneth.
RSV : And you, son of man, say to your people, The righteousness of the righteous shall not deliver him when he transgresses; and as for the wickedness of the wicked, he shall not fall by it when he turns from his wickedness; and the righteous shall not be able to live by his righteousness when he sins.
ASV : And thou, son of man, say unto the children of thy people, The righteousness of the righteous shall not deliver him in the day of his transgression; and as for the wickedness of the wicked, he shall not fall thereby in the day that he turneth from his wickedness; neither shall he that is righteous be able to live thereby in the day that he sinneth.
ESV : "And you, son of man, say to your people, The righteousness of the righteous shall not deliver him when he transgresses, and as for the wickedness of the wicked, he shall not fall by it when he turns from his wickedness, and the righteous shall not be able to live by his righteousness when he sins.
ERVEN : "Son of man, tell your people: 'The good things people did in the past will not save them if they become bad and begin to sin. In the same way the bad things people did in the past will not destroy them if they turn from their evil. So remember, the good things people did in the past will not save them if they begin to sin.'

MOV : നീതിമാൻ ജീവിക്കുമെന്നു ഞാൻ അവനോടു പറയുമ്പോൾ, അവൻ തന്റെ നീതിയിൽ ആശ്രയിച്ചു അകൃത്യം പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്നു എങ്കിൽ, അവന്റെ നീതിപ്രവൃത്തികൾ ഒന്നും അവന്നു കണക്കിടുകയില്ല; അവൻ ചെയ്ത നീതികേടുനിമിത്തം അവൻ മരിക്കും.
KJV : When I shall say to the righteous, [that] he shall surely live; if he trust to his own righteousness, and commit iniquity, all his righteousnesses shall not be remembered; but for his iniquity that he hath committed, he shall die for it.
YLT : In My saying of the righteous: He surely liveth, And -- he hath trusted on his righteousness, And he hath done perversity, All his righteous acts are not remembered, And for his perversity that he hath done, For it he doth die.
RV : When I say to the righteous, that he shall surely live; if he trust to his righteousness, and commit iniquity, none of his righteous deeds shall be remembered; but in his iniquity that he hath committed, therein shall he die.
RSV : Though I say to the righteous that he shall surely live, yet if he trusts in his righteousness and commits iniquity, none of his righteous deeds shall be remembered; but in the iniquity that he has committed he shall die.
ASV : When I say to the righteous, that he shall surely live; if he trust to his righteousness, and commit iniquity, none of his righteous deeds shall be remembered; but in his iniquity that he hath committed, therein shall he die.
ESV : Though I say to the righteous that he shall surely live, yet if he trusts in his righteousness and does injustice, none of his righteous deeds shall be remembered, but in his injustice that he has done he shall die.
ERVEN : "Maybe I will tell good people that they will live. But maybe those good people will begin to think that the good things they did in the past will save them. So they might begin to do bad things, but I will not remember the good things they did in the past! No, they will die because of the bad things they begin to do.

MOV : എന്നാൽ ഞാൻ ദുഷ്ടനോടു: നീ മരിക്കും എന്നു പറയുമ്പോൾ അവൻ തന്റെ പാപം വിട്ടുതിരിഞ്ഞു നീതിയും ന്യായവും പ്രവർത്തിക്കയും
KJV : Again, when I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; if he turn from his sin, and do that which is lawful and right;
YLT : And in My saying to the wicked: Thou surely diest, And -- he hath turned back from his sin, And hath done judgment and righteousness,
RV : Again, when I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; if he turn from his sin, and do that which is lawful and right;
RSV : Again, though I say to the wicked, `You shall surely die,' yet if he turns from his sin and does what is lawful and right,
ASV : Again, when I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; if he turn from his sin, and do that which is lawful and right;
ESV : Again, though I say to the wicked, 'You shall surely die,' yet if he turns from his sin and does what is just and right,
ERVEN : "Or maybe I will tell some evil people that they will die. But they might change their lives, stop sinning, and begin to live right. They might become good and fair.

MOV : പണയം തിരികെ കൊടുക്കയും അപഹരിച്ചതു മടക്കിക്കൊടുക്കയും നീതികേടു ഒന്നും ചെയ്യാതെ ജീവന്റെ ചട്ടങ്ങളെ അനുസരിക്കയും ചെയ്താൽ അവൻ മരിക്കാതെ ജീവിക്കും.
KJV : [If] the wicked restore the pledge, give again that he had robbed, walk in the statutes of life, without committing iniquity; he shall surely live, he shall not die.
YLT : (The pledge the wicked restoreth, plunder he repayeth,) In the statutes of life he hath walked, So as not to do perversity, He surely liveth -- he doth not die.
RV : if the wicked restore the pledge, give again that he had taken by robbery, walk in the statutes of life, committing no iniquity; he shall surely live, he shall not die.
RSV : if the wicked restores the pledge, gives back what he has taken by robbery, and walks in the statutes of life, committing no iniquity; he shall surely live, he shall not die.

ERVEN : They might give back the things they took when they loaned money. They might pay for the things they stole. They might begin to follow the laws that give life and stop doing bad things. Then they will surely live. They will not die.

MOV : അവൻ ചെയ്ത പാപം ഒന്നും അവന്നു കണക്കിടുകയില്ല; അവൻ നീതിയും ന്യായവും പ്രവർത്തിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; അവൻ ജീവിക്കും.
KJV : None of his sins that he hath committed shall be mentioned unto him: he hath done that which is lawful and right; he shall surely live.
YLT : None of his sin that he hath sinned is remembered to him, Judgment and righteousness he hath done, He doth surely live.
RV : None of his sins that he hath committed shall be remembered against him: he hath done that which is lawful and right; he shall surely live.

ERVEN : I will not remember the bad things they did in the past, because now they live right and are fair. So they will live!

MOV : എന്നാൽ നിന്റെ സ്വജാതിക്കാർ: കർത്താവിന്റെ വഴി ചൊവ്വുള്ളതല്ല എന്നു പറയുന്നു; അവരുടെ വഴിയത്രേ ചൊവ്വില്ലാതെയിരിക്കുന്നതു.
