KJV : And Samson went down to Timnath, and saw a woman in Timnath of the daughters of the Philistines.

KJV : Then his father and his mother said unto him, [Is there] never a woman among the daughters of thy brethren, or among all my people, that thou goest to take a wife of the uncircumcised Philistines? And Samson said unto his father, Get her for me; for she pleaseth me well.
YLT : And his father saith to him -- also his mother, `Is there not among the daughters of thy brethren, and among all my people, a woman, that thou art going to take a woman from the uncircumcised Philistines?` and Samson saith unto his father, `Take her for me, for she is right in mine eyes.`

ESV : But his father and mother said to him, "Is there not a woman among the daughters of your relatives, or among all our people, that you must go to take a wife from the uncircumcised Philistines?" But Samson said to his father, "Get her for me, for she is right in my eyes."
ERVEN : His father and his mother answered, "But surely there is a woman from the Israelites you can marry. Do you have to marry a woman from the Philistines? Their men are not even circumcised. " But Samson said, "Get that woman for me! She is the one I want!"

KJV : And the Spirit of the LORD came mightily upon him, and he rent him as he would have rent a kid, and [he had] nothing in his hand: but he told not his father or his mother what he had done.
YLT : and the Spirit of Jehovah prospereth over him, and he rendeth it as the rending of a kid, and there is nothing in his hand, and he hath not declared to his father and to his mother that which he hath done.

ERVEN : The Spirit of the Lord came on Samson with great power. He tore the lion apart with his bare hands. It seemed easy to him. It was as easy as tearing apart a young goat. But Samson did not tell his father or mother what he had done.

ERVEN : Several days later, Samson came back to marry her. On his way, he went over to look at the dead lion. He found a swarm of bees in its body. They had made some honey.

MOV : അതു അവൻ കയ്യിൽ എടുത്തു തിന്നുംകൊണ്ടു നടന്നു, അപ്പന്റെയും അമ്മയുടെയും അടുക്കൽ ചെന്നു അവർക്കും കൊടുത്തു അവരും തിന്നു; എന്നാൽ തേൻ ഒരു സിംഹത്തിന്റെ ഉടലിൽനിന്നു എടുത്തു എന്നു അവൻ അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞില്ല.

ERVEN : Samson got some of the honey with his hands. He walked along eating the honey. When he came to his parents, he gave them some of the honey, and they ate it too. But Samson did not tell his parents that he had taken the honey from the body of the dead lion.

ERVEN : Samson's father went down to see the Philistine woman. The custom was for the bridegroom to give a party. So Samson gave a party.

KJV : And it came to pass, when they saw him, that they brought thirty companions to be with him.

KJV : And Samson said unto them, I will now put forth a riddle unto you: if ye can certainly declare it me within the seven days of the feast, and find [it] out, then I will give you thirty sheets and thirty change of garments:
YLT : And Samson saith to them, `Let me, I pray you, put forth to you a riddle; if ye certainly declare it to me [in] the seven days of the banquet, and have found [it] out, then I have given to you thirty linen shirts, and thirty changes of garments;
RV : And Samson said unto them, Let me now put forth a riddle unto you: if ye can declare it me within the seven days of the feast, and find it out, then I will give you thirty linen garments and thirty changes of raiment:
RSV : And Samson said to them, "Let me now put a riddle to you; if you can tell me what it is, within the seven days of the feast, and find it out, then I will give you thirty linen garments and thirty festal garments;

ESV : And Samson said to them, "Let me now put a riddle to you. If you can tell me what it is, within the seven days of the feast, and find it out, then I will give you thirty linen garments and thirty changes of clothes,
ERVEN : Then Samson said to the 30 men, "I want to tell you a story. This party will last for seven days. Try to find the answer during that time. If you can answer the riddle in that time, I will give you 30 linen shirts and 30 changes of clothes.

MOV : വീട്ടുവാൻ നിങ്ങൾക്കു കഴിഞ്ഞില്ലെങ്കിലോ നിങ്ങൾ എനിക്കു മുപ്പതു ഉള്ളങ്കിയും മുപ്പതു വിശേഷവസ്ത്രവും തരേണം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. അവർ അവനോടു: നിന്റെ കടം പറക; ഞങ്ങൾ കേൾക്കട്ടെ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

MOV : അവൻ അവരോടു ഭോക്താവിൽനിന്നു ഭോജനവും മല്ലനിൽനിന്നു മധുരവും പുറപ്പെട്ടു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. എന്നാൽ കടം വീട്ടുവാൻ മൂന്നു ദിവസത്തോളം അവർക്കു കഴിഞ്ഞില്ല.
KJV : And he said unto them, Out of the eater came forth meat, and out of the strong came forth sweetness. And they could not in three days expound the riddle.
YLT : And he saith to them: `Out of the eater came forth meat, And out of the strong came forth sweetness;` and they were not able to declare the riddle [in] three days.
RV : And he said unto them, Out of the eater came forth meat, and out of the strong came forth sweetness. And they could not in three days declare the riddle.
RSV : And he said to them, "Out of the eater came something to eat. Out of the strong came something sweet." And they could not in three days tell what the riddle was.

ESV : And he said to them, "Out of the eater came something to eat. Out of the strong came something sweet." And in three days they could not solve the riddle.
ERVEN : Samson told them this riddle: "Out of the eater came something to eat. Out of the strong came something sweet." The 30 men tried for three days to find the answer, but they couldn't.

MOV : ഏഴാം ദിവസത്തിലോ അവർ ശിംശോന്റെ ഭാര്യയോടു: ഞങ്ങൾക്കു പറഞ്ഞുതരുവാൻ തക്കവണ്ണം നിന്റെ ഭർത്താവിനെ വശീകരിക്ക; അല്ലെങ്കിൽ ഞങ്ങൾ നിന്നെയും നിന്റെ പിതൃഭവനത്തെയും തീവെച്ചു ചുട്ടുകളയും; ഞങ്ങളുടെ വസ്തു കരസ്ഥമാക്കേണ്ടതിന്നോ നിങ്ങൾ ഞങ്ങളെ വിളിച്ചതു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
KJV : And it came to pass on the seventh day, that they said unto Samson’s wife, Entice thy husband, that he may declare unto us the riddle, lest we burn thee and thy father’s house with fire: have ye called us to take that we have? [is it] not [so? ]
YLT : And it cometh to pass, on the seventh day, that they say to Samson`s wife, `Entice thy husband, that he declare to us the riddle, lest we burn thee and the house of thy father with fire; to possess us have ye called for us? is it not?`
RV : And it came to pass on the seventh day, that they said unto Samson-s wife, Entice thy husband, that he may declare unto us the riddle, lest we burn thee and thy father-s house with fire: have ye called us to impoverish us? is it not {cf15i so}?
RSV : On the fourth day they said to Samson's wife, "Entice your husband to tell us what the riddle is, lest we burn you and your father's house with fire. Have you invited us here to impoverish us?"
ASV : And it came to pass on the seventh day, that they said unto Samsons wife, Entice thy husband, that he may declare unto us the riddle, lest we burn thee and thy fathers house with fire: have ye called us to impoverish us? is it not so?
ESV : On the fourth day they said to Samson's wife, "Entice your husband to tell us what the riddle is, lest we burn you and your father's house with fire. Have you invited us here to impoverish us?"
ERVEN : On the fourth day, the men came to Samson's wife. They said, "Did you invite us here just to make us poor? You must trick your husband into telling us the answer to the riddle. If you don't get the answer for us, we will burn you and everyone in your father's house to death."

KJV : And Samson’s wife wept before him, and said, Thou dost but hate me, and lovest me not: thou hast put forth a riddle unto the children of my people, and hast not told [it] me. And he said unto her, Behold, I have not told [it] my father nor my mother, and shall I tell [it] thee?
YLT : And Samson`s wife weepeth for it, and saith, `Thou hast only hated me, and hast not loved me; the riddle thou hast put forth to the sons of my people -- and to me thou hast not declared it;` and he saith to her, `Lo, to my father and to my mother I have not declared [it] -- and to thee I declare [it]!`
RV : And Samson-s wife wept before him, and said, Thou dost but hate me, and lovest me not: thou hast put forth a riddle unto the children of my people, and hast not told it me. And he said unto her, Behold, I have not told it my father nor my mother, and shall I tell it thee?
RSV : And Samson's wife wept before him, and said, "You only hate me, you do not love me; you have put a riddle to my countrymen, and you have not told me what it is." And he said to her, "Behold, I have not told my father nor my mother, and shall I tell you?"
ASV : And Samsons wife wept before him, and said, Thou dost but hate me, and lovest me not: thou hast put forth a riddle unto the children of my people, and hast not told it me. And he said unto her, Behold, I have not told it my father nor my mother, and shall I tell thee?
ESV : And Samson's wife wept over him and said, "You only hate me; you do not love me. You have put a riddle to my people, and you have not told me what it is." And he said to her, "Behold, I have not told my father nor my mother, and shall I tell you?"
ERVEN : So Samson's wife went to him and began crying. She said, "You just hate me! You don't really love me! You told my people a riddle, and you will not tell me the answer."

MOV : വിരുന്നിന്റെ ഏഴു ദിവസവും അവൾ അവന്റെ മുമ്പിൽ കരഞ്ഞുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നു; ഏഴാം ദിവസം അവൾ അവനെ അസഹ്യപ്പെടുത്തുകകൊണ്ടു അവൻ പറഞ്ഞുകൊടുത്തു; അവൾ തന്റെ അസ്മാദികൾക്കും കടം പറഞ്ഞുകൊടുത്തു.
KJV : And she wept before him the seven days, while their feast lasted: and it came to pass on the seventh day, that he told her, because she lay sore upon him: and she told the riddle to the children of her people.
YLT : And she weepeth for it the seven days [in] which their banquet hath been, and it cometh to pass on the seventh day that he declareth [it] to her, for she hath distressed him; and she declareth the riddle to the sons of her people.
RV : And she wept before him the seven days, while their feast lasted: and it came to pass on the seventh day, that he told her, because she pressed him sore: and she told the riddle to the children of her people.

ERVEN : Samson's wife cried for the rest of the seven days of the party. So he finally gave her the answer to the riddle on the seventh day. He told her because she kept bothering him. Then she went to her people and told them the answer to the riddle.

ESV : And the Spirit of the LORD rushed upon him, and he went down to Ashkelon and struck down thirty men of the town and took their spoil and gave the garments to those who had told the riddle. In hot anger he went back to his father's house.
ERVEN : Samson was very angry. The Spirit of the Lord came on Samson with great power. He went down to the city of Ashkelon and killed 30 Philistine men. He took all of the clothes and property from the dead bodies and gave them to the men who had answered his riddle. Then he went to his father's house.
