பிலேயாமின் கழுதை கர்த்தருடைய தூதன் சாலையில் நின்று கொண்டிருப்பதைப் பார்த்தது. அத்தேவ தூதன் தன் கையில் வாள் ஒன்றை வைத்திருந்தான். எனவே கழுதை சாலையிலிருந்து திரும்பி வயலில் இறங்கியது. பிலேயாமால் தேவ தூதனைக் காணமுடியவில்லை; எனவே அவன் கழுதை மீது மிகுந்த கோபங்கொண்டான். அவன் கழுதையை அடித்து சாலைக்குத் திரும்புமாறு கட்டாயப்படுத்தினான்.

దారిలో యెహోవా దూత నిలబడటం బిలాము గాడిద చూచింది. ఆ దూత చేతిలో ఖడ్గం ఉంది. కనుక గాడిద దారి తొలగి పక్క పొలంలోకి వెళ్లింది. బిలాము యెహోవా దూతను చూడలేదు. అందుచేత అతనికి తన గాడిద మీద చాల కోపం వచ్చింది. అతడు గాడిదను కొట్టి, మళ్లీ దారి మీదికి వెళ్లేందుకు దాన్ని బలవంతం చేసాడు.

ಯೆಹೋವನ ದೂತನು ಬಿಚ್ಚುಕತ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿದುಕೊಂಡು ದಾರಿಯಲ್ಲೇ ನಿಂತಿರುವುದನ್ನು ಆ ಕತ್ತೆ ನೋಡಿ ದಾರಿಯನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಬಯಲಿನ ಕಡೆ ಹೋಯಿತು. ಕತ್ತೆಯನ್ನು ದಾರಿಗೆ ತಿರುಗಿಸುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಬಿಳಾಮನು ಅದನ್ನು ಹೊಡೆದನು. ಅವನಿಗೆ ದೂತನು ಕಾಣಿಸಲಿಲ್ಲ.
