യോഹന്നാൻ ജീവകാലം തികവാറായപ്പോൾ: നിങ്ങൾ എന്നെ ആർ എന്നു നിരൂപിക്കുന്നു? ഞാൻ മശീഹയല്ല; അവൻ എന്റെ പിന്നാലെ വരുന്നു; അവന്റെ കാലിലെ ചെരിപ്പു അഴിപ്പാൻ ഞാൻ യോഗ്യനല്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And as John fulfilled his course, he said, Whom think ye that I am? I am not [he.] But, behold, there cometh one after me, whose shoes of [his] feet I am not worthy to loose.
