BNV : লাসার নামে একটি লোক অসুস্থ ছিলেন; তিনি বৈথনিযা গ্রামে থাকতেন৷ সেই গ্রামেই মরিয়ম ও তাঁর বোন মার্থাও থাকতেন৷
KJV : Now a certain [man] was sick, [named] Lazarus, of Bethany, the town of Mary and her sister Martha.
YLT : And there was a certain one ailing, Lazarus, from Bethany, of the village of Mary and Martha her sister --

BNV : এই মরিয়মই বহুমূল্য সুগন্ধি আতর যীশুর উপরে ঢেলে নিজের চুল দিয়ে তাঁর পা মুছিয়ে দিয়েছিলেন৷ লাসার ছিলেন এই মরিয়মেরই ভাই৷
KJV : (It was [that] Mary which anointed the Lord with ointment, and wiped his feet with her hair, whose brother Lazarus was sick.)
YLT : and it was Mary who did anoint the Lord with ointment, and did wipe his feet with her hair, whose brother Lazarus was ailing --

BNV : তাই লাসারের বোনেরা একটি লোক পাঠিয়ে যীশুকে বলে পাঠালেন, ‘প্রভু, আপনার প্রিয় বন্ধু লাসার অসুস্থ৷’
KJV : Therefore his sisters sent unto him, saying, Lord, behold, he whom thou lovest is sick.
YLT : therefore sent the sisters unto him, saying, `Sir, lo, he whom thou dost love is ailing;`
RV : The sisters therefore sent unto him, saying, Lord, behold, he whom thou lovest is sick.
RSV : So the sisters sent to him, saying, "Lord, he whom you love is ill."

BNV : যীশু একথা শুনে বললেন, ‘এই রোগে তার মৃত্যু হবে না; কিন্তু তা ঈশ্বরের মহিমার জন্যই হয়েছে, য়েন ঈশ্বরের পুত্র মহিমান্বিত হন৷’
KJV : When Jesus heard [that,] he said, {SCJ}This sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God, that the Son of God might be glorified thereby. {SCJ.}
YLT : and Jesus having heard, said, `This ailment is not unto death, but for the glory of God, that the Son of God may be glorified through it.`
RV : But when Jesus heard it, he said, This sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God, that the Son of God may be glorified thereby.
RSV : But when Jesus heard it he said, "This illness is not unto death; it is for the glory of God, so that the Son of God may be glorified by means of it."

BNV : যীশু মার্থা, তার বোনও লাসারকে ভালবাসতেন৷
KJV : Now Jesus loved Martha, and her sister, and Lazarus.
YLT : And Jesus was loving Martha, and her sister, and Lazarus,

BNV : তাই তিনি যখন শুনলেন য়ে লাসার অসুস্থ, তখন য়েখানে ছিলেন সেই জায়গায় আরো দুদিন রয়ে গেলেন৷
KJV : When he had heard therefore that he was sick, he abode two days still in the same place where he was.
YLT : when, therefore, he heard that he is ailing, then indeed he remained in the place in which he was two days,
RV : When therefore he heard that he was sick, he abode at that time two days in the place where he was.
RSV : So when he heard that he was ill, he stayed two days longer in the place where he was.

KJV : Then after that saith he to [his] disciples, {SCJ}Let us go into Judaea again. {SCJ.}
YLT : then after this, he saith to the disciples, `We may go to Judea again;`

BNV : তাঁর শিষ্যরা তাঁকে বললেন, ‘গুরু, সম্প্রতি সেখানকার লোকেরা আপনাকে পাথর ছুঁড়ে মেরে ফেলতে চাইছিল৷ তবে কেন আপনি আবার সেখানে য়েতে চাইছেন?’
KJV : [His] disciples say unto him, Master, the Jews of late sought to stone thee; and goest thou thither again?
YLT : the disciples say to him, `Rabbi, now were the Jews seeking to stone thee, and again thou dost go thither!`
RV : The disciples say unto him, Rabbi, the Jews were but now seeking to stone thee; and goest thou thither again?
RSV : The disciples said to him, "Rabbi, the Jews were but now seeking to stone you, and are you going there again?"

ERVEN : They answered, "But Teacher, those Jews there tried to stone you to death. That was only a short time ago. Now you want to go back there?"

BNV : এর উত্তরে যীশু বললেন, ‘দিনে বারো ঘন্টা আলো থাকে৷ কেউ যদি দিনের আলোতে চলে তবে সে হোঁচট খেয়ে পড়ে যায় না, কারণ সে জগতের আলো দেখতে পায়৷
KJV : Jesus answered, {SCJ}Are there not twelve hours in the day? If any man walk in the day, he stumbleth not, because he seeth the light of this world. {SCJ.}
YLT : Jesus answered, `Are there not twelve hours in the day? if any one may walk in the day, he doth not stumble, because the light of this world he doth see;
RV : Jesus answered, Are there not twelve hours in the day? If a man walk in the day, he stumbleth not, because he seeth the light of this world.

BNV : কিন্তু কেউ যদি রাতের আঁধারে চলে তবে সে হোঁচট খায়, কারণ তার সামনে কোন আলো নেই৷’
KJV : {SCJ}But if a man walk in the night, he stumbleth, because there is no light in him. {SCJ.}
YLT : and if any one may walk in the night, he stumbleth, because the light is not in him.`

BNV : তিনি একথা বলার পর তাদের আবার বললেন, ‘আমাদের বন্ধু লাসার ঘুমিয়ে পড়েছে; কিন্তু আমি তাকে জাগাতে যাচ্ছি৷
KJV : These things said he: and after that he saith unto them, {SCJ}Our friend Lazarus sleepeth; but I go, that I may awake him out of sleep. {SCJ.}
YLT : These things he said, and after this he saith to them, `Lazarus our friend hath fallen asleep, but I go on that I may awake him;`

BNV : তখন তাঁর শিষ্যরা তাঁকে বললেন, ‘প্রভু, সে যদি ঘুমিয়ে থাকে তবে সে ভাল হয়ে যাবে৷’
KJV : Then said his disciples, Lord, if he sleep, he shall do well.
YLT : therefore said his disciples, `Sir, if he hath fallen asleep, he will be saved;`
RV : The disciples therefore said unto him, Lord, if he is fallen asleep, he will recover.
RSV : The disciples said to him, "Lord, if he has fallen asleep, he will recover."

BNV : যীশু লাসারের মৃত্যুর বিষয়ে বলছিলেন, কিন্তু তাঁরা মনে করলেন তিনি তাঁর স্বাভাবিক ঘুমের কথা বলছেন৷
KJV : Howbeit Jesus spake of his death: but they thought that he had spoken of taking of rest in sleep.
YLT : but Jesus had spoken about his death, but they thought that about the repose of sleep he speaketh.

BNV : আর তোমাদের কথা ভেবে আমি আনন্দিত য়ে আমি সেখানে ছিলাম না, কারণ এখন তোমরা আমাকে বিশ্বাস করবে৷ চল, এখন আমরা তার কাছে যাই৷’
KJV : {SCJ}And I am glad for your sakes that I was not there, to the intent ye may believe; nevertheless let us go unto him. {SCJ.}
YLT : and I rejoice, for your sake, (that ye may believe,) that I was not there; but we may go to him;`

BNV : তখন থোমা (যাঁকে দিদুমঃ বলে) অন্য শিষ্যদের উদ্দেশ্য করে বললেন, ‘চল, আমরাও যাবো, আমরাও যীশুর সঙ্গে মরব৷’
KJV : Then said Thomas, which is called Didymus, unto his fellowdisciples, Let us also go, that we may die with him.
YLT : therefore said Thomas, who is called Didymus, to the fellow-disciples, `We may go -- we also, that we may die with him,`
RV : Thomas therefore, who is called Didymus, said unto his fellow-disciples, Let us also go, that we may die with him.

BNV : যীশু বৈথনিযাতে এসে জানতে পারলেন য়ে গত চারদিন ধরে লাসার কবরে আছেন৷
KJV : Then when Jesus came, he found that he had [lain] in the grave four days already.
YLT : Jesus, therefore, having come, found him having been four days already in the tomb.
RV : So when Jesus came, he found that he had been in the tomb four days already.

KJV : Now Bethany was nigh unto Jerusalem, about fifteen furlongs off:
YLT : And Bethany was nigh to Jerusalem, about fifteen furlongs off,

BNV : তাই ইহুদীদের অনেকেই মার্থা ও মরিয়মকে তাঁদের ভাইয়ের মৃত্যুর পর সান্ত্বনা দিতে এসেছিল৷

BNV : মার্থা যখন শুনলেন য়ে যীশু এসেছেন, তখন তাঁর সঙ্গে দেখা করতে গেলেন, কিন্তু মরিয়ম ঘরেই থাকলেন৷
KJV : Then Martha, as soon as she heard that Jesus was coming, went and met him: but Mary sat [still] in the house.
YLT : Martha, therefore, when she heard that Jesus doth come, met him, and Mary kept sitting in the house.
RV : Martha therefore, when she heard that Jesus was coming, went and met him: but Mary still sat in the house.

BNV : মার্থা যীশুকে বললেন, ‘প্রভু, আপনি যদি এখানে থাকতেন তাহলে আমার ভাই মরত না৷
KJV : Then said Martha unto Jesus, Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died.
YLT : Martha, therefore, said unto Jesus, `Sir, if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died;
RV : Martha therefore said unto Jesus, Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died.

BNV : কিন্তু এখনও আমি জানি য়ে, আপনি ঈশ্বরের কাছে যা কিছু চাইবেন, ঈশ্বর আপনাকে তাই দেবেন৷’
KJV : But I know, that even now, whatsoever thou wilt ask of God, God will give [it] thee.
YLT : but even now, I have known that whatever thou mayest ask of God, God will give to thee;`
RV : And even now I know that, whatsoever thou shalt ask of God, God will give thee.
RSV : And even now I know that whatever you ask from God, God will give you."

BNV : যীশু তাঁকে বললেন, ‘তোমার ভাই আবার উঠবে৷’

BNV : মার্থা তাঁকে বললেন, ‘আমি জানি শেষ দিনে পুনরুত্থানের সময় সে আবার উঠবে৷’
KJV : Martha saith unto him, I know that he shall rise again in the resurrection at the last day.
YLT : Martha saith to him, `I have known that he will rise again, in the rising again in the last day;`
RV : Martha saith unto him, I know that he shall rise again in the resurrection at the last day.
RSV : Martha said to him, "I know that he will rise again in the resurrection at the last day."

BNV : যীশু মার্থাকে বললেন, ‘আমিই পুনরুত্থান, আমিই জীবন৷ য়ে কেউ আমাকে বিশ্বাস করে, সে মরবার পর জীবন ফিরে পাবে৷
KJV : Jesus said unto her, {SCJ}I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: {SCJ.}
YLT : Jesus said to her, `I am the rising again, and the life; he who is believing in me, even if he may die, shall live;
RV : Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth on me, though he die, yet shall he live:

BNV : য়ে কেউ জীবিত আছে ও আমায় বিশ্বাস করে, সে কখনও মরবে না৷ তুমি কি একথা বিশ্বাস কর?’
KJV : {SCJ}And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this? {SCJ.}
YLT : and every one who is living and believing in me shall not die -- to the age;
RV : and whosoever liveth and believeth on me shall never die. Believest thou this?
RSV : and whoever lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this?"

BNV : মার্থা তাঁকে বললেন, ‘হ্যাঁ, প্রভু! আমি বিশ্বাস করি য়ে জগতে যাঁর আসার কথা আছে আপনিই সেই খ্রীষ্ট, ঈশ্বরের পুত্র৷’
KJV : She saith unto him, Yea, Lord: I believe that thou art the Christ, the Son of God, which should come into the world.
YLT : believest thou this?` she saith to him, `Yes, sir, I have believed that thou art the Christ, the Son of God, who is coming to the world.`
RV : She saith unto him, Yea, Lord: I have believed that thou art the Christ, the Son of God, {cf15i even} he that cometh into the world.
RSV : She said to him, "Yes, Lord; I believe that you are the Christ, the Son of God, he who is coming into the world."

BNV : এই কথা বলার পর মার্থা সেখান থেকে চলে গেলেন ও তার বোন মরিয়মকে একান্তে ডেকে বললেন, ‘গুরু এসেছেন, আর তিনি তোমায় ডাকছেন৷’
KJV : And when she had so said, she went her way, and called Mary her sister secretly, saying, The Master is come, and calleth for thee.
YLT : And these things having said, she went away, and called Mary her sister privately, saying, `The Teacher is present, and doth call thee;`
RV : And when she had said this, she went away, and called Mary her sister secretly, saying, The Master is here, and calleth thee.
RSV : When she had said this, she went and called her sister Mary, saying quietly, "The Teacher is here and is calling for you."

ERVEN : After Martha said these things, she went back to her sister Mary. She talked to Mary alone and said, "The Teacher is here. He is asking for you."

BNV : মরিয়ম একথা শুনে তাড়াতাড়ি করে যীশুর কাছে গেলেন৷
KJV : As soon as she heard [that,] she arose quickly, and came unto him.
YLT : she, when she heard, riseth up quickly, and doth come to him;
RV : And she, when she heard it, arose quickly, and went unto him.
RSV : And when she heard it, she rose quickly and went to him.
