সুতরাং ঈশ্বরের সাক্ষাতে তুমি আমায় একটা প্রতিশ্রুতি দাও| প্রতিজ্ঞা করো য়ে তুমি আমার ও আমার সন্তানসন্ততির প্রতি ন্যায়পরায়ণ থাকবে| প্রতিশ্রুতি দাও য়ে তুমি আমার প্রতি এবং য়ে দেশে বাস করছ সেই দেশের প্রতি ন্যায়পরায়ণ হবে| প্রতিশ্রুতি দাও য়ে আমি তোমার প্রতি য়েরকম ন্যায়পরায়ণ, তুমিও আমার প্রতি সেরকম ন্যায়পরায়ণ হবে|”

Now therefore swear unto me here by God that thou wilt not deal falsely with me, nor with my son, nor with my son’s son: [but] according to the kindness that I have done unto thee, thou shalt do unto me, and to the land wherein thou hast sojourned.
