અમાસ્યા યહોવાનું અનુકરણ ન કરતાં અવળે માગેર્ ચાલવા લાગ્યો તે સમયથી યરૂશાલેમમાં લોકોએ તેની વિરૂદ્ધ બંડ કર્યુ. તેથી તે લાખીશ ભાગી ગયો, પણ લાખીશ સુધી તેનો પીછો કરવામાં આવ્યો અને તેને ત્યાં જ ઠાર કરવામાં આવ્યો.
