ಆದದರಿಂದ ರಥಗಳ ಅಧಿಪತಿ ಗಳು ಯೆಹೋಷಾಫಾಟನನ್ನು ನೋಡಿದಾಗ--ನಿಶ್ಚ ಯವಾಗಿ ಇವನೇ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ಅರಸನೆಂದು ಹೇಳಿ ಅವನ ಸಂಗಡ ಯುದ್ಧಮಾಡುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಸುತ್ತಿಕೊಂಡರು. ಯೆಹೋಷಾಫಾಟನು ಕೂಗಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲು ಕರ್ತನು ಅವ ನಿಗೆ ಸಹಾಯಕೊಟ್ಟನು. ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ದೇವರು ಅವರನ್ನು ಅವನ ಕಡೆಯಿಂದ ತೊಲಗಿಸಿದನು.

ರಥಾಧಿಪತಿಗಳು ಯೆಹೋಷಾಫಾಟನನ್ನು ನೋಡಿದಾಗ ಅವನೇ ಅಹಾಬನೆಂದೆಣಿಸಿ ಅವನ ಮೇಲೆ ದಾಳಿ ನಡೆಸಿದರು. ಆದರೆ ಯೆಹೋಷಾಫಾಟನು ಗಟ್ಟಿಯಾಗಿ ಕೂಗಿಕೊಂಡನು. ಆಗ ಯೆಹೋವನು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಸಹಾಯಮಾಡಿ ರಥಾಧಿಪತಿಗಳು ಅವನಿಂದ ಬೇರೆ ಕಡೆಗೆ ತಿರುಗುವಂತೆ ಮಾಡಿದನು.
