గొడ్డలి, దానిని ప్రయోగించే వానికంటె గొప్పదేంకాదు. రంపం, దానితో కోసే వానికంటె గొప్పదేంకాదు. కాని అష్షూరు తాను దేవునికంటే ముఖ్యం అనుకొంటుంది. ఎవరినైనా శిక్షించేందకు ఒకడు బెత్తం తీసుకొని ప్రయోగిస్తే, అతనికంటె ఆ బెత్తం ఎక్కువ శక్తి గలది, ముఖ్యమయింది అన్నట్టు ఉంటుంది.

ಕೊಡಲಿಯು ಅದನ್ನು ಉಪಯೋಗಿಸುವವನಿಗಿಂತ ಉತ್ತಮವಲ್ಲ. ಗರಗಸವು ಅದನ್ನು ಉಪಯೋಗಿಸುವವನಿಗಿಂತ ಉತ್ತಮವಲ್ಲ. ಆದರೆ ಅಶ್ಶೂರವು ತಾನು ದೇವರಿಗಿಂತಲೂ ಶಕ್ತಿಶಾಲಿ, ಸಾಮರ್ಥ್ಯವುಳ್ಳವನು ಎಂದು ನೆನಸುತ್ತಾನೆ. ಬೆತ್ತವು, ತನ್ನನ್ನು ಎತ್ತಿಹಿಡಿದು ಬೇರೆಯವರನ್ನು ಶಿಕ್ಷಿಸುವವನಿಗಿಂತ ತಾನು ಬಲಿಷ್ಠನೂ ಪ್ರಮುಖನೂ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳುವಂತಿದೆ ಇದು.
