ಗಿದ್ಯೋನನು ಒಳಗೆ ಹೋಗಿ ಒಂದು ಆಡಿನ ಮರಿಯನ್ನು ಬೇಯಿಸಿದನು. ಅವನು ಸುಮಾರು ಇಪ್ಪತ್ತು ಸೇರಿನಷ್ಟು ಹಿಟ್ಟನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಹುಳಿಯಿಲ್ಲದ ರೊಟ್ಟಿಯನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿದನು. ತರುವಾಯ ಗಿದ್ಯೋನನು ಆ ಮಾಂಸವನ್ನು ಒಂದು ಬುಟ್ಟಿಯಲ್ಲಿಟ್ಟನು, ಮಾಂಸ ಬೇಯಿಸಿದ ನೀರನ್ನು ಒಂದು ಪಾತ್ರೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹಾಕಿದನು. ಗಿದ್ಯೋನನು ಆ ಮಾಂಸವನ್ನೂ ಮಾಂಸ ಬೇಯಿಸಿದ ನೀರನ್ನೂ ಹುಳಿಯಿಲ್ಲದ ರೊಟ್ಟಿಯನ್ನೂ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಬಂದನು. ಗಿದ್ಯೋನನು ಏಲಾ ಮರದ ಕೆಳಗೆ ಯೆಹೋವನಿಗೆ ಆಹಾರವನ್ನು ಕೊಟ್ಟನು.
