ಆಗ ಜನರೆಲ್ಲರು ಬಾಳನ ಗುಡಿಯೊಳಗೆ ನುಗ್ಗಿ ಅದನ್ನು ಹಾಳು ಮಾಡಿದರು. ಅದರ ಯಜ್ಞವೇದಿಕೆಗಳನ್ನೂ ವಿಗ್ರಹಗಳನ್ನೂ ಪುಡಿಪುಡಿ ಮಾಡಿದರು. ಬಾಳನ ಅರ್ಚಕನಾದ ಮತ್ತಾನನನ್ನು ಬಾಳನ ವೇದಿಕೆಯ ಮುಂದೆಯೇ ಕೊಂದುಹಾಕಿದರು.
