যাকোব মারা গেলে য়োষেফের ভাইরা দুঃশ্চিন্তাগ্রস্ত হল| তারা এই ভেবে ভীত হল য়ে বহু বছর আগে তারা য়োষেফের প্রতি যা করেছিল, য়োষেফ হয়তো তার প্রতিফল দেবেন| তারা বলল, “হয়তো য়োষেফ এখনও আমরা যা করেছিলাম তার জন্য ঘৃণা করেন|”

And when Joseph’s brethren saw that their father was dead, they said, Joseph will peradventure hate us, and will certainly requite us all the evil which we did unto him.
