ಆದರೆ ಅರಸನಾದ ಯೋಷೀಯನು ಹಿಂದಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋಗಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಅವನು ನೆಕೋನನ್ನು ಎದುರಿಸಲು ನಿರ್ಧರಿಸಿದನು. ತನ್ನ ವೇಷ ಬದಲಾಯಿಸಿ ಯುದ್ಧಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋದನು. ದೇವರ ಅಪ್ಪಣೆಯ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ನೆಕೋ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದನ್ನು ಕೇಳಲು ಯೋಷೀಯನು ನಿರಾಕರಿಸಿ ಮೆಗಿದ್ದೋ ಕಣಿವೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಯುದ್ಧಕ್ಕೆ ಹೊರಟನು.

କିନ୍ତୁ ଯୋଶିୟଯ ଚାଲିଗଲେ ନାହିଁ। ସେ ନଖୋଙ୍କ ବିରୁଦ୍ଧ ରେ ୟୁଦ୍ଧ କରିବାକୁ ସ୍ଥିର କଲେ, ତେଣୁ ସେ ତାଙ୍କର ରୂପ ବଦଳାଇଲେ ଓ ୟୁଦ୍ଧ କରିବା ନିମନ୍ତେ ୟୁଦ୍ଧକ୍ଷେତ୍ରକୁ ଗଲେ। ନଖୋ ପରମେଶ୍ବରଙ୍କ ଆଦେଶ ସମ୍ବନ୍ଧ ରେ ଯାହା କହିଲେ, ଯୋଶିୟଯ ତାହା ଶୁଣିବାକୁ ଅଗ୍ରାହ୍ଯ କଲେ। ଯୋଶିୟଯ ମାଗିଦ୍ଦୋ ସମତଳ ଭୂମିରେ ୟୁଦ୍ଧ କରିବାକୁ ଗଲେ।
