The king said that the burnt offering and the sin offering should be made for all the Israelites.

ଏହାପରେ ଯାଜକମାନେ ଛାଗଗୁଡ଼ିକୁ ରାଜାଙ୍କ ସମ୍ମୁଖକୁ ଆଣିଲେ ଓ ଲୋକମାନେ ଏକତ୍ର ସମ୍ମିଳିତ ହେଲେ। ଏହି ଛାଗଗୁଡ଼ିକ ପାପାର୍ଥକ ବଳି ଥିଲା। ଯାଜକମାନେ ସମାନଙ୍କେ ହସ୍ତ ଛାଗମାନଙ୍କ ମସ୍ତକ ଉପରେ ରଖିଲେ ଓ ଛାଗଗୁଡ଼ିକୁ ବଧ କଲେ। ଛାଗମାନଙ୍କର ରକ୍ତକୁ ୟଜ୍ଞବଦେୀ ଉପରେ ଉତ୍ସର୍ଗ କରି ଯାଜକମାନେ ପାପାର୍ଥକ ବଳି ଉତ୍ସର୍ଗ କଲେ। ପରମେଶ୍ବର ଯେପରି ଇଶ୍ରାୟେଲର ଲୋକମନଙ୍କର ପାପସବୁ କ୍ଷମା କରନ୍ତି, ଏଥିନିମନ୍ତେ ସମାନେେ ଏହିପରି କଲେ। ରାଜା କହିଲେ ଯେ, ଇଶ୍ରାୟେଲର ସମସ୍ତ ଲୋକଙ୍କ ନିମନ୍ତେ ହାମବେଳି ଉପହାର ଓ ପାପାର୍ଥକ ବଳି ଏକତ୍ର ଉତ୍ସର୍ଗ କରାୟିବା ଉଚିତ୍।

यानंतर याजकांनी राजा व समुदाय यांच्यापुढे बोकडांना आणले. हे बोकड पापार्पणासाठी होते. याजकांनी बोकडांवर हात ठेवून त्यांना मारले. बोकडांचे रक्त वेदीवर शिंपडून याजकांनी पापार्पण केले. परमेश्वराने इस्राएल लोकांना क्षमा करावी म्हणून हे विधी याजकांनी केले. सामस्त इस्राएल लोकांसाठी होमार्पण आणि पापार्पण करावे अशी राजाची आज्ञा होती.
