ಆಗ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ಅರಸನು ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಕಡಿಮೆ ನಾನೂರು ಮಂದಿ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಗಳನ್ನು ಕೂಡಿಸಿ--ನಾನು ಗಿಲ್ಯಾದಿನಲ್ಲಿರುವ ರಾಮೋತಿನ ಮೇಲೆ ಯುದ್ಧಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋಗಬಹುದೋ ಬೇಡವೋ ಎಂದು ಅವರನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿದನು. ಅದಕ್ಕವರು--ಹೋಗು; ಕರ್ತನು ಅದನ್ನು ಅರಸನ ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಿಕೊಡುವನು ಅಂದರು.

ಅಹಾಬನು ಪ್ರವಾದಿಗಳ ಸಭೆಯೊಂದನ್ನು ಕರೆದನು. ಆ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿ ನಾನೂರುಮಂದಿ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಗಳಿದ್ದರು. ಅಹಾಬನು ಪ್ರವಾದಿಗಳನ್ನು, “ಅರಾಮ್ಯರ ಸೇನೆಯ ವಿರುದ್ಧ ಹೋರಾಡಲು ನಾನು ರಾಮೋತಿಗೆ ಹೋಗಬೇಕೇ? ಅಥವಾ ನಾನು ಬೇರೊಂದು ಸಮಯಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಕಾಯಬೇಕೇ?” ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಿದನು. ಪ್ರವಾದಿಗಳು, “ನೀನು ಹೋಗಿ ಯುದ್ಧಮಾಡು. ನೀನು ಗೆಲ್ಲುವಂತೆ ಯೆಹೋವನು ಮಾಡುವನು” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು.
