তবে আমি তার কাছে থেকে গোটা রাজত্ব কেড়ে নেব না, তার শাসন করার জন্য একটি পরিবারগোষ্ঠী রেখে দেব| দায়ূদের কথা ও জেরুশালেমের কথা ভেবেই আমি এই অনুগ্রহ করব| কারণ দায়ূদ আমার পরম অনুগত সেবক ছিল| আর তাছাড়া এই জেরুশালেম শহরকে আমি নিজেই বেছে নিয়েছিলাম|

Howbeit I will not rend away all the kingdom; [but] will give one tribe to thy son for David my servant’s sake, and for Jerusalem’s sake which I have chosen.
