BNV : প্রভু আমাকে যা বলেছেন তা হল: “যিরমিয়, যাও একটি ক্ষৌম কটি বস্ত্র কিনে আনো এবং ওটি তোমার কটিদেশের চারপাশে শক্ত করে জড়াও| ওটিকে ভিজতে দিও না|”
KJV : Thus saith the LORD unto me, Go and get thee a linen girdle, and put it upon thy loins, and put it not in water.
YLT : Thus said Jehovah unto me, `Go, and thou hast got for thee a girdle of linen, and hast placed it on thy loins, and into water thou dost not cause it to enter:`
RV : Thus said the LORD unto me, Go, and buy thee a linen girdle, and put it upon thy loins, and put it not in water.
RSV : Thus said the LORD to me, "Go and buy a linen waistcloth, and put it on your loins, and do not dip it in water."

ERVEN : This is what the Lord said to me: "Jeremiah, go and buy a linen loincloth. Then put it around your waist. Don't let the loincloth get wet."

BNV : সুতরাং আমি একটি কটি বস্ত্র কিনে আনলাম| প্রভুর কথা মতো কোমরে জড়িয়ে নিলাম|
KJV : So I got a girdle according to the word of the LORD, and put [it] on my loins.

BNV : এই ছিল বার্তা: “যিরমিয়, কিনে আনা কটিটি পরে তুমি ফরাত্‌ নদীর কাছে যাও| সেখানে কটিটি একটি পাথরের ফাঁকে লুকিয়ে রাখো|”
KJV : Take the girdle that thou hast got, which [is] upon thy loins, and arise, go to Euphrates, and hide it there in a hole of the rock.
YLT : `Take the girdle that thou hast got, that [is] on thy loins, and rise, go to Phrat, and hide it there in a hole of the rock;
RV : Take the girdle that thou hast bought, which is upon thy loins, and arise, go to Euphrates, and hide it there in a hole of the rock.
RSV : "Take the waistcloth which you have bought, which is upon your loins, and arise, go to the Euphrates, and hide it there in a cleft of the rock."
ASV : Take the girdle that thou hast bought, which is upon thy loins, and arise, go to the Euphrates, and hide it there in a cleft of the rock.
ESV : "Take the loincloth that you have bought, which is around your waist, and arise, go to the Euphrates and hide it there in a cleft of the rock."
ERVEN : This was the message: "Jeremiah, take the loincloth you bought and are wearing, and go to Perath. Hide the loincloth there in a crack in the rocks."

BNV : সুতরাং আমি প্রভুর কথা মতো ফসু নদীর কাছে গিয়ে কটিটি লুকিয়ে রাখলাম|
KJV : So I went, and hid it by Euphrates, as the LORD commanded me.

BNV : অনেকদিন পরে প্রভু আমাকে বললেন, “যিরমিয়, এখন তুমি আবার ফরাত্‌ নদীর কাছে গিয়ে লুকোনো কটিটি নিয়ে এসো|”
KJV : And it came to pass after many days, that the LORD said unto me, Arise, go to Euphrates, and take the girdle from thence, which I commanded thee to hide there.
YLT : And it cometh to pass, at the end of many days, that Jehovah saith unto me, `Rise, go to Phrat, and take thence the girdle, that I commanded thee to hide there;`
RV : And it came to pass after many days, that the LORD said unto me, Arise, go to Euphrates, and take the girdle from thence, which I commanded thee to hide there.
RSV : And after many days the LORD said to me, "Arise, go to the Euphrates, and take from there the waistcloth which I commanded you to hide there."

ERVEN : Many days later the Lord said to me, "Now, Jeremiah, go to Perath. Get the loincloth that I told you to hide there."

BNV : তখন আমি আবার ফরাতের কাছে গিয়ে পাথরের ফাঁক থেকে কটিটি বের করার পর দেখলাম য়ে ওটা নষ্ট হয়ে গিয়েছে| আর কোন মতেই ওটা পরার মতো অবস্থায় নেই|
KJV : Then I went to Euphrates, and digged, and took the girdle from the place where I had hid it: and, behold, the girdle was marred, it was profitable for nothing.
YLT : and I go to Phrat, and dig, and take the girdle from the place where I had hid it; and lo, the girdle hath been marred, it is not profitable for anything.

ERVEN : So I went to Perath and dug up the loincloth. I took it out of the crack in the rocks where I had hidden it. But now I could not wear the loincloth, because it was ruined. It was not good for anything.

KJV : Then the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,

BNV : প্রভু যা বলেছিলেন, “য়েমন ঐ কটিটি নষ্ট হয়ে গিয়েছে ঠিক তেমনি আমি যিহূদা এবং জেরুশালেমের অহঙ্কারী মানুষদের ধ্বংস করে দেব| তাদের দর্প চূর্ণ করব|
KJV : Thus saith the LORD, After this manner will I mar the pride of Judah, and the great pride of Jerusalem.
YLT : Thus do I mar the excellency of Judah, And the great excellency of Jerusalem.
RV : Thus saith the LORD, After this manner will I mar the pride of Judah, and the great pride of Jerusalem.
RSV : "Thus says the LORD: Even so will I spoil the pride of Judah and the great pride of Jerusalem.

ERVEN : This is what the Lord said: "The loincloth is ruined and not good for anything. In the same way I will ruin the proud people of Judah and Jerusalem.

BNV : আমি যিহূদার সমস্ত দুষ্ট ও অহঙ্কারী লোকদের ধ্বংস করে দেব| তারা আমার বার্তাসমূহ শুনতে অস্বীকার করেছিল| তারা একগুঁযে, জেদী| তারা নিজের মতো করে চলেছে| তারা অন্য দেবতাদের পূজা করেছে| যিহূদার লোকদের অবস্থা হবে ঐ কটির মতো| তারা ধ্বংস হবেই|
KJV : This evil people, which refuse to hear my words, which walk in the imagination of their heart, and walk after other gods, to serve them, and to worship them, shall even be as this girdle, which is good for nothing.
YLT : This evil people, who refuse to hear My words, Who walk in the stubbornness of their heart, And go after other gods to serve them, And to bow themselves to them, Yea it is -- as this girdle, that is not profitable for anything.
RV : This evil people, which refuse to hear my words, which walk in the stubbornness of their heart, and are gone after other gods to serve them, and to worship them, shall even be as this girdle, which is profitable for nothing.
RSV : This evil people, who refuse to hear my words, who stubbornly follow their own heart and have gone after other gods to serve them and worship them, shall be like this waistcloth, which is good for nothing.

ERVEN : I will ruin them because they refuse to listen to my messages. They are stubborn and do only what they want to do. They follow and worship other gods. They will be like this linen loincloth. They will be ruined and not good for anything.

BNV : এক জন ব্যক্তি য়েমন করে কোমরে কটি বস্ত্র জড়ায ঠিক তেমন করে আমি ইস্রায়েল এবং যিহূদার সমস্ত লোককে আমার কোমরের চারপাশে জড়িয়ে নিলাম| এটি হল প্রভুর বার্তা| “আমি ঐ সব মানুষদের নিজের লোকে পরিণত করার জন্যই এটা করেছিলাম| ওরা আমার নিজস্ব লোকে পরিণত হলে আমি মান সম্মান খ্যাতি সব কিছু পেতাম| কিন্তু ওরা আমার কথা শুনল না|”
KJV : For as the girdle cleaveth to the loins of a man, so have I caused to cleave unto me the whole house of Israel and the whole house of Judah, saith the LORD; that they might be unto me for a people, and for a name, and for a praise, and for a glory: but they would not hear.
YLT : For, as the girdle cleaveth unto the loins of a man, So I caused to cleave unto Me The whole house of Israel, And the whole house of Judah, an affirmation of Jehovah, To be to Me for a people, and for a name, And for praise, and for beauty, And they have not hearkened.

ESV : For as the loincloth clings to the waist of a man, so I made the whole house of Israel and the whole house of Judah cling to me, declares the LORD, that they might be for me a people, a name, a praise, and a glory, but they would not listen.
ERVEN : A loincloth is wrapped tightly around a man's waist. In the same way I wrapped the family of Israel and the family of Judah around me." This message is from the Lord. "I did that so they would be my people and bring me fame, praise, and honor. But my people did not listen to me."

BNV : “যিরমিয়, যিহূদার লোকদের বলো: ‘প্রভু, ইস্রায়েলের ঈশ্বর যা বললেন তা হল: চামড়ার তৈরী প্রত্যেকটি দ্রাক্ষারস রাখার থলি দ্রাক্ষারসে ভরে থাকা উচিত্‌|’ ওরা তোমাকে মৃদু হেসে বলবে, ‘আমরা কি জানি না য়ে প্রতিটি চামড়ার তৈরী দ্রাক্ষারস রাখার থলি দ্রাক্ষারসে পূর্ণ থাকা উচিত্‌|’
KJV : Therefore thou shalt speak unto them this word; Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, Every bottle shall be filled with wine: and they shall say unto thee, Do we not certainly know that every bottle shall be filled with wine?
YLT : And thou hast said unto them this word, Thus said Jehovah, God of Israel, `Every bottle is full of wine,` And they have said unto thee: `Do we not certainly know that every bottle is full of wine?`
RV : Therefore thou shalt speak unto them this word: Thus saith the LORD, the God of Israel, Every bottle shall be filled with wine: and they shall say unto thee, Do we not know that every bottle shall be filled with wine?
RSV : "You shall speak to them this word: `Thus says the LORD, the God of Israel, "Every jar shall be filled with wine."' And they will say to you, `Do we not indeed know that every jar will be filled with wine?'
ASV : Therefore thou shalt speak unto them this word: Thus saith Jehovah, the God of Israel, Every bottle shall be filled with wine: and they shall say unto thee, Do we not certainly know that every bottle shall be filled with wine?
ESV : "You shall speak to them this word: 'Thus says the LORD, the God of Israel, "Every jar shall be filled with wine."' And they will say to you, 'Do we not indeed know that every jar will be filled with wine?'
ERVEN : "Jeremiah, say to the people of Judah: 'This is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says: Every wineskin should be filled with wine.' They will laugh and say to you, 'Of course, we know that every wineskin should be filled with wine.'

BNV : তখন তুমি তাদের বলবে, ‘প্রভু যা বলেছেন তা হল: আমি এই দেশের সমস্ত লোককে অর্থাত্‌ দাযূদের সিংহাসনে উপবিষ্ট রাজাদের, যাজকদের, ভাব্বাদীদের এবং জেরুশালেমের সমস্ত লোকদের মত্ততায পূর্ণ করব|
KJV : Then shalt thou say unto them, Thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will fill all the inhabitants of this land, even the kings that sit upon David’s throne, and the priests, and the prophets, and all the inhabitants of Jerusalem, with drunkenness.
YLT : And thou hast said unto them, `Thus said Jehovah: Lo, I am filling all the inhabitants of this land, And the kings who sit for David on his throne, And the priests, and the prophets, And all the inhabitants of Jerusalem, [With] drunkenness,
RV : Then shalt thou say unto them, Thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will fill all the inhabitants of this land, even the kings that sit upon David-s throne, and the priests, and the prophets, and all the inhabitants of Jerusalem, with drunkenness.
RSV : Then you shall say to them, `Thus says the LORD: Behold, I will fill with drunkenness all the inhabitants of this land: the kings who sit on David's throne, the priests, the prophets, and all the inhabitants of Jerusalem.
ASV : Then shalt thou say unto them, Thus saith Jehovah, Behold, I will fill all the inhabitants of this land, even the kings that sit upon Davids throne, and the priests, and the prophets, and all the inhabitants of Jerusalem, with drunkenness.
ESV : Then you shall say to them, 'Thus says the LORD: Behold, I will fill with drunkenness all the inhabitants of this land: the kings who sit on David's throne, the priests, the prophets, and all the inhabitants of Jerusalem.
ERVEN : Then you will say to them, 'This is what the Lord says: I will make everyone who lives in this land helpless, like a drunken person. I am talking about the kings who sit on David's throne. I am also talking about the priests, the prophets, and all the people who live in Jerusalem.

BNV : যিহূদার লোকরা আমার কারণে হোঁচট খাবে এবং পরস্পরের ঘাড়ে পড়বে| পিতাপুত্র মিলেও পা জড়াজড়ি করবে আর হোঁচট খেযে আছড়ে পড়বে|”‘ এই হল প্রভুর বার্তা| “‘আমার সমবেদনাকে আমি যিহূদার লোকদের ধ্বংস করা থেকে বিরত করতে দেব না| যিহূদার লোকদের ধ্বংস করার ক্ষেত্রে আমি বিন্দুমাত্র বিচলিত হব না|”‘
KJV : And I will dash them one against another, even the fathers and the sons together, saith the LORD: I will not pity, nor spare, nor have mercy, but destroy them.
YLT : And have dashed them one against another, And the fathers and the sons together, An affirmation of Jehovah, I do not pity, nor spare, nor have I mercy, So as not to destroy them.
RV : And I will dash them one against another, even the fathers and the sons together, saith the LORD: I will not pity, nor spare, nor have compassion, that I should not destroy them.

ERVEN : I will make them stumble and fall against each other, even the fathers and sons.' This message is from the Lord. 'I will not feel sorry or have pity for them. I will not allow compassion to stop me from destroying the people of Judah.'"

BNV : মনোয়োগ দিয়ে শোন| প্রভু তোমাদের সঙ্গে কথা বলেছেন| তোমরা গর্ব করো না|
KJV : Hear ye, and give ear; be not proud: for the LORD hath spoken.
YLT : Hear, and give ear -- be not haughty, For Jehovah hath spoken.

ERVEN : Listen and pay attention. The Lord has spoken to you. Do not be proud.

BNV : তোমাদের প্রভু ঈশ্বরকে সম্মান করো| তাঁর প্রশংসা করো| না হলে তিনি অন্ধকার বয়ে আনবেন| যেখানে তোমরা আলোর জন্য অপেক্ষা করছ এবং আশা করছ, সেই অন্ধকার পাহাড়গুলিতে হোঁচট খাবার আগে এবং পড়বার আগে প্রভুর প্রশংসা কর, নাহলে তিনি সেটাকে ভযাবহ অন্ধকারে পরিণত করবেন| তিনি আলোটিকে গাঢ় অন্ধকারে পরিবর্তিত করবেন|
KJV : Give glory to the LORD your God, before he cause darkness, and before your feet stumble upon the dark mountains, and, while ye look for light, he turn it into the shadow of death, [and] make [it] gross darkness.
YLT : Give ye to Jehovah your God honour, Before He doth cause darkness, And before your feet stumble on dark mountains, And ye have waited for light, And He hath made it for death-shade, And hath appointed [it] for thick darkness.

ESV : Give glory to the LORD your God before he brings darkness, before your feet stumble on the twilight mountains, and while you look for light he turns it into gloom and makes it deep darkness.
ERVEN : Honor the Lord your God. Praise him or he will bring darkness. Praise him before you fall on the dark hills. You people of Judah are hoping for light, but the Lord will turn the light into thick darkness. He will change the light into a very thick darkness.

BNV : যদি তোমরা প্রভুর কথা না শোন, তোমাদের অহঙ্কার আমাকে ভীষণ দুঃখ দেবে| আমি মুখ লুকিয়ে চিত্কার করে কাঁদব| আমার চোখ দিয়ে অঝোরে অশ্রু-ধারা বইতে থাকবে| কারণ প্রভুর পালকে বন্দী করে নিয়ে যাওয়া হবে|
KJV : But if ye will not hear it, my soul shall weep in secret places for [your] pride; and mine eye shall weep sore, and run down with tears, because the LORD’S flock is carried away captive.
YLT : And if ye do not hear it, In secret places doth my soul weep, because of pride, Yea, it weepeth sore, And the tear cometh down mine eyes, For the flock of Jehovah hath been taken captive.
RV : But if ye will not hear it, my soul shall weep in secret for {cf15i your} pride; and mine eye shall weep sore, and run down with tears, because the LORD-S flock is taken captive.
RSV : But if you will not listen, my soul will weep in secret for your pride; my eyes will weep bitterly and run down with tears, because the LORD's flock has been taken captive.
ASV : But if ye will not hear it, my soul shall weep in secret for your pride; and mine eye shall weep sore, and run down with tears, because Jehovahs flock is taken captive.
ESV : But if you will not listen, my soul will weep in secret for your pride; my eyes will weep bitterly and run down with tears, because the LORD's flock has been taken captive.
ERVEN : If you people of Judah don't listen to him, I will hide and cry. Your pride will cause me to cry. I will cry very hard. My eyes will overflow with tears, because the Lord's flock will be captured.

BNV : রাজা এবং তাঁর স্ত্রীকে বলো, “সিংহাসন থেকে নেমে এসো| তোমাদের চোখ ধাঁধানো রাজমুকুট মাথা থেকে খসে পড়ছে|”
KJV : Say unto the king and to the queen, Humble yourselves, sit down: for your principalities shall come down, [even] the crown of your glory.
YLT : Say to the king and to the mistress: Make yourselves low -- sit still, For come down have your principalities, The crown of your beauty.
RV : Say thou unto the king and to the queen-mother, Humble yourselves, sit down: for your headtires are come down, even the crown of your glory.
RSV : Say to the king and the queen mother: "Take a lowly seat, for your beautiful crown has come down from your head."

ERVEN : Tell these things to the king and his wife, "Come down from your thrones. Your beautiful crowns have fallen from your heads."

BNV : নেগেভের মরু শহরগুলিতে তালা লাগানো হয়েছে এবং কোন ব্যক্তি তা খুলতে পারবে না| যিহূদার সমস্ত মানুষকে নির্বাসনে পাঠানো হয়েছে| তাদের জেলের কয়েদীদের মতো বয়ে নিয়ে যাওয়া হয়েছে|
KJV : The cities of the south shall be shut up, and none shall open [them:] Judah shall be carried away captive all of it, it shall be wholly carried away captive.

ERVEN : The cities in the Negev are locked. No one can open them. All the people of Judah have been taken away as captives. They were carried away as prisoners.

BNV : জেরুশালেম দেখ! উত্তর দিক থেকে শএুরা আসছে| তোমার মেষের পালকোথায়? ঈশ্বর তোমাদের ঐ চমত্কার মেষের পালটি দিয়েছিলেন| তোমাদের ওটার দেখাশোনা করবার কথা ছিল|

KJV : What wilt thou say when he shall punish thee? for thou hast taught them [to be] captains, [and] as chief over thee: shall not sorrows take thee, as a woman in travail?
YLT : What dost thou say, when He looketh after thee? And thou -- thou hast taught them [to be] over thee -- leaders for head? Do not pangs seize thee as a travailing woman?

ERVEN : What will you say when the Lord asks you to account for that flock? You were supposed to teach the people. Your leaders were supposed to lead them. So you will suffer pain and trouble, like a woman giving birth.

BNV : তুমি হয়তো নিজেকে জিজ্ঞেস করবে, “আমার ক্ষেত্রে এইসব খারাপ ব্যাপারগুলো কেন ঘটল?” তোমার অনেক পাপের জন্য ঐ সব ঘটেছে| তোমার পোশাক ছিঁড়ে ফেলা হয়েছে এবং তোমার জুতোকেই নিয়ে চলে গেছে| তারা তোমাকে বিব্রত, বিরক্ত করার জন্যই ওগুলো করেছে|
KJV : And if thou say in thine heart, Wherefore come these things upon me? For the greatness of thine iniquity are thy skirts discovered, [and] thy heels made bare.
YLT : And when thou dost say in thy heart, `Wherefore have these met me?` For the abundance of thine iniquity Have thy skirts been uncovered, Have thy heels suffered violence.

ERVEN : You might ask yourself, "Why has this bad thing happened to me?" It happened because of your many sins. Because of your sins, your skirt was torn off, and your sandals were taken away. They did this to embarrass you.
