BNV কিন্তু যাকোব বললেন, “আমি বিন্যামীনকে তোমাদের সঙ্গে য়েতে দেব না| তাই ভাই মৃত আর আমার স্ত্রী রাহেলের পুত্রদের মধ্যে সেই অবশিষ্ট| মিশরে যাবার পথে তার যদি কিছু হয় তবে তা আমাকে মেরেই ফেলবে| তাহলে এই দুঃখে তোমরা আমাকে এই বৃদ্ধ মানুষকে মেরে ফেলবে|”
KJV And he said, My son shall not go down with you; for his brother is dead, and he is left alone: if mischief befall him by the way in the which ye go, then shall ye bring down my gray hairs with sorrow to the grave.
YLT and he saith, `My son doth not go down with you, for his brother [is] dead, and he by himself is left; when mischief hath met him in the way in which ye go, then ye have brought down my grey hairs in sorrow to sheol.`
RV And he said, My son shall not go down with you; for his brother is dead, and he only is left: if mischief befall him by the way in the which ye go, then shall ye bring down my gray hairs with sorrow to the grave.
RSV But he said, "My son shall not go down with you, for his brother is dead, and he only is left. If harm should befall him on the journey that you are to make, you would bring down my gray hairs with sorrow to Sheol."
ASV And he said, My son shall not go down with you; for his brother is dead, and he only is left: if harm befall him by the way in which ye go, then will ye bring down my gray hairs with sorrow to Sheol.
ESV But he said, "My son shall not go down with you, for his brother is dead, and he is the only one left. If harm should happen to him on the journey that you are to make, you would bring down my gray hairs with sorrow to Sheol."
ERVEN But Jacob said, "I will not let Benjamin go with you. His brother is dead, and he is the only son left from my wife Rachel. It would kill me if anything happened to him during the trip to Egypt. You would send me to the grave a very sad, old man."
