HOV तब उसने यह सोच कर, कि शेला सियाना तो हो गया पर मैं उसकी स्त्री नहीं होने पाई; अपना विधवापन का पहिरावा उतारा, और घूंघट डाल कर अपने को ढांप लिया, और एनैम नगर के फाटक के पास, जो तिम्नाथ के मार्ग में है, जा बैठी:
KJV And she put her widow’s garments off from her, and covered her with a vail, and wrapped herself, and sat in an open place, which [is] by the way to Timnath; for she saw that Shelah was grown, and she was not given unto him to wife.
YLT and she turneth aside the garments of her widowhood from off her, and covereth herself with a vail, and wrappeth herself up, and sitteth in the opening of Enayim, which [is] by the way to Timnath, for she hath seen that Shelah hath grown up, and she hath not been given to him for a wife.

ERVEN Tamar always wore clothes that showed that she was a widow. So she put on some different clothes and covered her face with a veil. Then she sat down near the road going to Enaim, a town near Timnah. Tamar knew that Judah's younger son Shelah was now grown up, but Judah would not make plans for her to marry him.
