అందువల్ల యాజకుడైన యెహోయాదా ఒక పెట్టె తీసుకుని దానిమీద ఒక రంధ్రం చేశాడు. తర్వాత యెహోయాదా బలిపీఠపు దక్షిణ దిశగా పెట్టెను ఉంచాడు. ఈ పెట్టె యెహోవా ఆలయానికి ప్రజలు వచ్చే ద్వారానికి పక్కగా వున్నది. కొందురు యాజకులు ఆలయంలోని ఆ ద్వారాన్ని కాపలా కాసారు. యెహోవాకి ప్రజలు సమర్పించిన డబ్బును ఆ యాజకులు తీసుకుని, ఆ పెట్టలో వేశారు.

ಆದರೆ ಯಾಜಕನಾದ ಯೆಹೋಯಾದಾವನು ಒಂದು ಪೆಟ್ಟಿಗೆಯನ್ನು ತಕ್ಕೊಂಡು ಅದರ ಮುಚ್ಚಳದಲ್ಲಿ ತೂತನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿ ಬಲಿಪೀಠದ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕರ್ತನ ಮನೆಯೊಳಗೆ ಪ್ರವೇಶದ ಬಲಗಡೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಇಟ್ಟನು. ಆಗ ಬಾಗಲು ಕಾಯುವ ಯಾಜಕರು ಕರ್ತನ ಮನೆಗೆ ತರಲ್ಪಟ್ಟ ಹಣವನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಅದರಲ್ಲಿ ಹಾಕಿದರು.

ಯಾಜಕನಾದ ಯೆಹೋಯಾದಾವನು ಒಂದು ಪೆಟ್ಟಿಗೆಯನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು, ಅದರ ಮೇಲೆ ಒಂದು ತೂತು ಮಾಡಿದನು. ನಂತರ ಯೆಹೋಯಾದಾವನು ಆ ಪೆಟ್ಟಿಗೆಯನ್ನು ಯಜ್ಞವೇದಿಕೆಯ ಬಲಗಡೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಇಟ್ಟನು. ದೇವಾಲಯಕ್ಕೆ ಜನರು ಬರುವ ಬಾಗಿಲಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಈ ಪೆಟ್ಟಿಗೆಯಿತ್ತು. ಕೆಲವು ಮಂದಿ ಯಾಜಕರು ಆಲಯದ ಬಾಗಿಲಿನಲ್ಲಿ ರಕ್ಷಕರಾಗಿ ನಿಂತರು. ಆ ಯಾಜಕರು ಜನರು ಯೆಹೋವನಿಗೆಂದು ಕೊಡುವ ಆ ಹಣವನ್ನು ಪೆಟ್ಟಿಗೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹಾಕಿದರು.

પછી યહોયાદા યાજકે એક મોટી પેટી બનાવડાવી, તેના ઢાંકણામાં કાણું પડાવ્યું અને તેણે એ પેટીને મંદિરના પ્રવેશદ્વાર પાસે બલિદાનની વેદીની જમણી બાજુએ મૂકાવી. મંદિરના દરવાજે કામ કરતા યાજકો લોકો મંદિરમાં જે કોઈ પૈસા લાવતા તે બધાં તે પેટીમાં નાખતા.
