ఏడవ సంవత్సరమున ప్రధాన యాజకుడయిన యెహోయాదా సైనికుల అధిపతులను కాపలాదారులను రప్పించాడు. యెహోయాదా వారిని యెహోవా ఆలయములో ఒక చోట సమకుర్చాడు. తర్వాత యెహోయాదా వారితో ఒక ఒడంబడిక కుదుర్చుకున్నాడు. ఆలయంలో యెహోయాదా వారిని ఒక వాగ్దానం చేయమని నిర్భందించాడు. అప్పుడు వారికి రాజుగారి కుమారుడైన యెవాషును చూపించాడు.

ಏಳನೆ ವರ್ಷದಲ್ಲಿ, ಪ್ರಧಾನ ಯಾಜಕನಾದ ಯೆಹೋಯಾದಾವನು ಕೆರೇತ್ಯರ ಸೇನಾಧಿಪತಿಗಳನ್ನು ಮತ್ತು ಕಾವಲುಗಾರರನ್ನು ಕರೆಸಿಕೊಂಡನು. ಯೆಹೋಯಾದಾವನು ಅವರನ್ನೆಲ್ಲ ಯೆಹೋವನ ಆಲಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಒಟ್ಟಾಗಿ ಸೇರಿಸಿದನು. ನಂತರ ಯೆಹೋಯಾದಾವನು ಅವರೊಡನೆ ಒಂದು ಒಪ್ಪಂದವನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡನು. ಯೆಹೋಯಾದಾವನು ಆಲಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರು ವಾಗ್ದಾನ ಮಾಡುವಂತೆ ಬಲಾತ್ಕಾರಗೊಳಿಸಿದನು. ನಂತರ ಅವನು ಅವರಿಗೆ ರಾಜನ ಮಗನನ್ನು (ಯೆಹೋವಾಷನನ್ನು) ತೋರಿಸಿದನು.
