BNV : যীশু লোকদের যা বলতে চেয়েছিলেন তা বলা শেষ করে কফরনাহূম শহরে গেলেন৷
KJV : Now when he had ended all his sayings in the audience of the people, he entered into Capernaum.

KJV : And a certain centurion’s servant, who was dear unto him, was sick, and ready to die.

BNV : শতপতি যখন যীশুর কথা শুনতে পেলেন তখন ইহুদীদের কয়েকজন নেতাকে দিয়ে যীশুর কাছে বলে পাঠালেন, য়েন যীশু এসে তার দাসের জীবন রক্ষা করেন৷
KJV : And when he heard of Jesus, he sent unto him the elders of the Jews, beseeching him that he would come and heal his servant.
YLT : and having heard about Jesus, he sent unto him elders of the Jews, beseeching him, that having come he might thoroughly save his servant.

BNV : তারা যীশুর কাছে এসে তাকে বিশেষভাবে অনুরোধ করে বললেন, ‘যার জন্য আপনাকে এই কাজ করতে বলছি, তিনি একজন য়োগ্য লোক৷
KJV : And when they came to Jesus, they besought him instantly, saying, That he was worthy for whom he should do this:
YLT : And they, having come near unto Jesus, were calling upon him earnestly, saying -- `He is worthy to whom thou shalt do this,

ERVEN : The men went to Jesus. They begged Jesus to help the officer. They said, "This officer is worthy to have your help.

BNV : কারণ তিনি আমাদের লোকদের ভালবাসেন, আর তিনি আমাদের জন্য একটা সমাজ-গৃহ নির্মাণ করে দিয়েছেন৷’
KJV : For he loveth our nation, and he hath built us a synagogue.
YLT : for he doth love our nation, and the synagogue he did build to us.`

BNV : তখন যীশু তাদের সঙ্গে গেলেন৷ তিনি যখন সেই বাড়ির কাছাকাছি এসেছেন তখন সেই শতপতি তাঁর বন্ধুদের দিয়ে বলে পাঠালেন, ‘প্রভু আপনি আর কষ্ট করবেন না, কারণ আপনি য়ে আমার বাড়িতে আসেন তার য়োগ্য আমি নই৷
KJV : Then Jesus went with them. And when he was now not far from the house, the centurion sent friends to him, saying unto him, Lord, trouble not thyself: for I am not worthy that thou shouldest enter under my roof:

ERVEN : So Jesus went with them. He was coming near the officer's house when the officer sent friends to say, "Lord, you don't need to do anything special for me. I am not good enough for you to come into my house.

BNV : এই কারণেই আমি নিজেকে আপনার কাছে যাবার উপযুক্ত মনে করি না৷ আপনি কেবল মুখে বলুন তাতেই আমার ঐ দাস ভাল হয়ে যাবে৷
KJV : Wherefore neither thought I myself worthy to come unto thee: but say in a word, and my servant shall be healed.
YLT : wherefore not even myself thought I worthy to come unto thee, but say in a word, and my lad shall be healed;

BNV : কারণ আমিও একজনের অধীনে কাজ করি, আর আমার অধীনেও সৈনিকেরা কাজ করে৷ আমি যদি কাউকে বলি ‘যাও’ তখন সে যায়, আবার কাউকে যদি বলি ‘এস’ তবে সে আসে৷ আর আমি যখন একজনকে বলি, ‘এটা কর,’ তখন সে তা করে৷’
KJV : For I also am a man set under authority, having under me soldiers, and I say unto one, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth [it. ]
YLT : for I also am a man placed under authority, having under myself soldiers, and I say to this [one], Go, and he goeth; and to another, Be coming, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doth [it].`

ERVEN : I know this because I am a man under the authority of other men. And I have soldiers under my authority. I tell one soldier, 'Go,' and he goes. And I tell another soldier, 'Come,' and he comes. And I say to my servant, 'Do this,' and my servant obeys me."

BNV : এই কথা শুনে যীশু আশ্চর্য হলেন৷ য়ে সব লোক ভীড় করে তাঁর পিছনে পিছনে আসছিল, তাদের দিকে ফিরে তিনি বললেন, ‘আমি তোমাদের বলছি, এমন কি ইস্রায়েলীয়দের মধ্যেও এত বড় বিশ্বাস আমি কখনও দেখিনি৷’
KJV : When Jesus heard these things, he marvelled at him, and turned him about, and said unto the people that followed him, {SCJ}I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel. {SCJ.}
YLT : And having heard these things Jesus wondered at him, and having turned to the multitude following him, he said, `I say to you, not even in Israel so much faith did I find;`

BNV : সেনাপতি যাদের পাঠিয়েছিলেন, তারা বাড়ি ফিরে গিয়ে দেখল য়ে সেই চাকর ভাল হয়ে গেছে৷
KJV : And they that were sent, returning to the house, found the servant whole that had been sick.

BNV : এর অল্প দিন পরেই যীশু নাযিন্নামে এক নগরের দিকে যাচ্ছিলেন৷ তাঁর শিষ্যরা এবং আরও অনেক লোক তাঁর সঙ্গে সঙ্গে যাচ্ছিল৷
KJV : And it came to pass the day after, that he went into a city called Nain; and many of his disciples went with him, and much people.

BNV : তিনি যখন সেই নগরের ফটকের কাছাকাছি এসেছেন, তখন একজন মৃত লোককে বয়ে নিয়ে যাওযা হচ্ছিল৷ সেই মৃত লোকটি ছিল তার বিধবা মায়ের একমাত্র পুত্র৷ সেই নগরের অনেক লোক সেই বিধবার সঙ্গে সঙ্গে যাচ্ছিল৷
KJV : Now when he came nigh to the gate of the city, behold, there was a dead man carried out, the only son of his mother, and she was a widow: and much people of the city was with her.

ERVEN : When Jesus came near the town gate, he saw some people carrying a dead body. It was the only son of a woman who was a widow. Walking with her were many other people from the town.

BNV : সেই বিধবাকে দেখে তার জন্য প্রভুর খুবই দযা হল৷ তিনি তাকে বললেন, ‘তুমি কেঁদো না৷’
KJV : And when the Lord saw her, he had compassion on her, and said unto her, {SCJ}Weep not. {SCJ.}
YLT : And the Lord having seen her, was moved with compassion towards her, and said to her, `Be not weeping;`

BNV : তারপর তিনি কাছে এসে শবের খাট ছুঁলেন, তখন যাঁরা মৃতদেহ বয়ে নিয়ে যাচ্ছিল তারা দাঁড়িয়ে পড়ল৷ এমন সময় যীশু বললেন, ‘যুবক, আমি তোমায় বলছি তুমি ওঠো৷’
KJV : And he came and touched the bier: and they that bare [him] stood still. And he said, {SCJ}Young man, I say unto thee, Arise. {SCJ.}
YLT : and having come near, he touched the bier, and those bearing [it] stood still, and he said, `Young man, to thee I say, Arise;`

ERVEN : He walked to the open coffin and touched it. The men who were carrying the coffin stopped. Jesus spoke to the dead son: "Young man, I tell you, get up!"

BNV : তখন সেই লোকটি উঠে বসল, আর কথা বলতে শুরু করল৷ যীশু তখন তাকে তার মায়ের কাছে ফিরিয়ে দিলেন৷

BNV : এই দেখে সকলের মন ভয় ও ভক্তিতে পূর্ণ হল৷ তারা ঈশ্বরের প্রশংসা করে বলতে লাগল, ‘আমাদের মধ্যে একজন মহান ভাববাদীর আবির্ভাব হয়েছে৷’ তারা আরও বলতে লাগল, ‘ঈশ্বর তাঁর লোকদের সাহায্য করতে এসেছেন৷’
KJV : And there came a fear on all: and they glorified God, saying, That a great prophet is risen up among us; and, That God hath visited his people.
YLT : and fear took hold of all, and they were glorifying God, saying -- `A great prophet hath risen among us,` and -- `God did look upon His people.`

BNV : যীশুর বিষয়ে এই সব কথা যিহূদিযায় ও তার আশপাশের সব জায়গায় ছড়িয়ে পড়ল৷
KJV : And this rumour of him went forth throughout all Judaea, and throughout all the region round about.
YLT : And the account of this went forth in all Judea about him, and in all the region around.

BNV : প্রভুর কাছে জিজ্ঞেস করে পাঠালেন য়ে, ‘য়াঁর আগমণের কথা আছে আপনিই কি সেই, না আমরা অন্য কারোর জন্য অপেক্ষা করব?’
KJV : And John calling [unto him] two of his disciples sent [them] to Jesus, saying, Art thou he that should come? or look we for another?
YLT : and John having called near a certain two of his disciples, sent unto Jesus, saying, `Art thou he who is coming, or for another do we look?`

BNV : সেই লোকেরা যীশুর কাছে এসে বলল, ‘বাপ্তিস্মদাতা য়োহন আপনার কাছে আমাদের জিজ্ঞেস করতে পাঠিয়েছেন৷ ‘য়াঁর আসবার কথা আপনিই কি সেই ব্যক্তি, না আমরা অন্য কারো অপেক্ষায় থাকব?”
KJV : When the men were come unto him, they said, John Baptist hath sent us unto thee, saying, Art thou he that should come? or look we for another?
YLT : And having come near to him, the men said, `John the Baptist sent us unto thee, saying, Art thou he who is coming, or for another do we look?`

BNV : সেই সময় যীশু অনেক লোককে বিভিন্ন রোগ ও ব্যাধি থেকে সুস্থ করছিলেন, অশুচি আত্মায় পাওযা লোকদের ভাল করছিলেন, আর অনেক অন্ধ লোককে দৃষ্টি শক্তি দান করছিলেন৷
KJV : And in that same hour he cured many of [their] infirmities and plagues, and of evil spirits; and unto many [that were] blind he gave sight.

BNV : তখন তিনি তাদের প্রশ্নের জবাবে বললেন, ‘তোমরা যা দেখলে ও শুনলে তা গিয়ে য়োহনকে বল৷ অন্ধেরা দেখতে পাচ্ছে, খোঁড়ারা হাঁটছে, কুষ্ঠ রোগীরা সুস্থ হচ্ছে, বধিরেরা শুনছে, মরা মানুষ বেঁচে উঠছে;আর দরিদ্ররা সুসমাচার শুনতে পাচ্ছে৷
KJV : Then Jesus answering said unto them, {SCJ}Go your way, and tell John what things ye have seen and heard; how that the blind see, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, to the poor the gospel is preached. {SCJ.}
YLT : And Jesus answering said to them, `Having gone on, report to John what ye saw and heard, that blind men do see again, lame do walk, lepers are cleansed, deaf do hear, dead are raised, poor have good news proclaimed;

ERVEN : Then he said to John's followers, "Go tell John what you have seen and heard: The blind can see. The crippled can walk. People with leprosy are healed. The deaf can hear. The dead are brought back to life. And the Good News is being told to the poor.

BNV : ধন্য সেই লোক, য়ে আমাকে গ্রহণ করার জন্য মনে কোন দ্বিধা বোধ করে না৷’
KJV : {SCJ}And blessed is [he,] whosoever shall not be offended in me. {SCJ.}
YLT : and happy is he whoever may not be stumbled in me.`
RV : And blessed is he, whosoever shall find none occasion of stumbling in me.
RSV : And blessed is he who takes no offense at me."

ERVEN : What great blessings there are for those who don't have a problem accepting me."

BNV : য়োহনের কাছ থেকে যাঁরা এসেছিল তারা চলে গেলে পর যীশু সমবেত সেই লোকদের কাছে য়োহনের বিষয়ে বললেন, ‘তোমরা প্রান্তরের মধ্যে কি দেখতে গিয়েছিলে? বাতাসে একটি বেত গাছ দুলছে তাই?

BNV : এতেই বোঝা যায় য়ে সে বেশী ভালবাসা দেখাচ্ছে, সেইজন্যই আমি বলছি, এর পাপ অনেক হলেও তা ক্ষমা করা হয়েছে; কিন্তু যাকে অল্প ক্ষমা করা হয়, সে অল্প ভালবাসে৷’
KJV : {SCJ}Wherefore I say unto thee, Her sins, which are many, are forgiven; for she loved much: but to whom little is forgiven, [the same] loveth little. {SCJ.}
YLT : therefore I say to thee, her many sins have been forgiven, because she did love much; but to whom little is forgiven, little he doth love.`

BNV : যাঁরা তাঁর সঙ্গে খেতে বসেছিল, তারা পরস্পর বলাবলি করতে লাগল, ‘ইনি কে য়ে পাপ ক্ষমা করেন?’
KJV : And they that sat at meat with him began to say within themselves, Who is this that forgiveth sins also?
YLT : and those reclining with him (at meat) began to say within themselves, `Who is this, who also doth forgive sins?`
RV : And they that sat at meat with him began to say within themselves, Who is this that even forgiveth sins?
RSV : Then those who were at table with him began to say among themselves, "Who is this, who even forgives sins?"
