BNV : কোন এক বিশ্রামবারে যীশু একটি শস্য ক্ষেতের মধ্য দিয়ে যাচ্ছিলেন৷ তাঁর শিষ্যরা শীষ ছিঁড়ে হাতে মেড়ে মেড়ে খাচ্ছিলেন৷
KJV : And it came to pass on the second sabbath after the first, that he went through the corn fields; and his disciples plucked the ears of corn, and did eat, rubbing [them] in [their] hands.
YLT : And it came to pass, on the second-first sabbath, as he is going through the corn fields, that his disciples were plucking the ears, and were eating, rubbing with the hands,

BNV : এই দেখে কয়েকজন ফরীশী বলল, ‘য়ে কাজ করা বিশ্রামবারে বিধি-সম্মত নয় তা তোমরা করছ কেন?’
KJV : And certain of the Pharisees said unto them, Why do ye that which is not lawful to do on the sabbath days?
YLT : and certain of the Pharisees said to them, `Why do ye that which is not lawful to do on the sabbaths?`

BNV : এর উত্তরে যীশু তাদের বললেন, ‘দাযূদ ও তাঁর সঙ্গীদের যখন খিদে পেয়েছিল তখন তাঁরা কি করেছিলেন তা কি তোমরা পড় নি?
KJV : And Jesus answering them said, {SCJ}Have ye not read so much as this, what David did, when himself was an hungred, and they which were with him; {SCJ.}

BNV : তিনি তো ঈশ্বরের গৃহে ঢুকে ঈশ্বরের উদ্দেশ্যে নিবেদিত রুটি নিয়ে খেয়েছিলেন, আর তাঁর সঙ্গীদের তা দিয়েছিলেন, যা যাজক ছাড়া অন্য কারো খাওযা বিধি-সম্মত ছিল না৷’
KJV : {SCJ}How he went into the house of God, and did take and eat the shewbread, and gave also to them that were with him; which it is not lawful to eat but for the priests alone? {SCJ.}

ERVEN : David went into God's house. He took the bread that was offered to God and ate it. And he gave some of the bread to the people with him. This was against the Law of Moses, which says that only the priests can eat that bread."

BNV : যীশু তাদের আরও বললেন, ‘মানবপুত্রই বিশ্রামবারের প্রভু৷’
KJV : And he said unto them, {SCJ}That the Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath. {SCJ.}

BNV : আর এক বিশ্রামবারে তিনি সমাজ-গৃহে গিয়ে শিক্ষা দিতে লাগলেন৷ সেখানে একজন লোক ছিল যার ডান হাতটি শুকিয়ে গিয়েছিল৷

BNV : তিনি তাকে বিশ্রামবারে সুস্থ করেন কি না দেখার জন্য ব্যবস্থার শিক্ষকরা ও ফরীশীরা তাঁর ওপর নজর রাখছিল, য়েন তারা যীশুর বিরুদ্ধে দোষ দেবার কোন সূত্র খুঁজে পায়৷

ERVEN : The teachers of the law and the Pharisees were watching Jesus closely. They were waiting to see if he would heal on the Sabbath day. They wanted to see him do something wrong so that they could accuse him.

BNV : যীশু তাদের মনের চিন্তা জানতেন, তাই য়ে লোকটির হাত শুকিয়ে গিয়েছিল তাকে বললেন, ‘তুমি সকলের সামনে উঠে দাঁড়াও!’ তখন সেই লোকটি সকলের সামনে উঠে দাঁড়াল৷

BNV : যীশু তাদের বললেন, ‘আমি তোমাদের একটা প্রশ্ন করি, বিশ্রামবারে কি করা বিধিসম্মত, ভাল করা না ক্ষতি করা? কাউকে প্রাণে বাঁচানো না ধ্বংস করা?’
KJV : Then said Jesus unto them, {SCJ}I will ask you one thing; Is it lawful on the sabbath days to do good, or to do evil? to save life, or to destroy [it? ]{SCJ.}

BNV : চারপাশে তাদের সকলের দিকে তাকিয়ে তিনি লোকটিকে বললেন, ‘তোমার হাতখানা বাড়াও৷’ সে তাই করলে তার হাত সম্পূর্ণ স্বাভাবিক হয়ে গেল৷

BNV : কিন্তু ফরীশী ও ব্যবস্থার শিক্ষকরা রাগে জ্বলতে লাগল৷ তারা নিজেদের মধ্যে আলোচনা করতে লাগল, ‘যীশুর প্রতি কি করা হবে?’
KJV : And they were filled with madness; and communed one with another what they might do to Jesus.

ERVEN : The Pharisees and the teachers of the law got so mad they couldn't think straight. They talked to each other about what they could do to Jesus.

BNV : যীশু সেই সময় একবার প্রার্থনা করার জন্য একটি পর্বতে গেলেন৷ সারা রাত ধরে ঈশ্বরের কাছে প্রার্থনায় কাটালেন৷

BNV : সকাল হলে তিনি তাঁর অনুগামীদেব নিজের কাছে ডাকলেন ও তাঁদের মধ্য থেকে বারোজনকে মনোনীত করে তাঁদের ‘প্রেরিত’ পদে নিযোগ করলেন৷ তাঁরা হলেন,

BNV : যীশু তাঁর প্রেরিতদেরসঙ্গে নিয়ে পর্বত থেকে নেমে একটা সমতল জায়গায় গিয়ে দাঁড়ালেন৷ সেখানে তাঁর আরো অনুগামী এসে জড়ো হয়েছিল৷ সমস্ত যিহূদা জেরুশালেম এবং সোর সীদোনের সমুদ্র উপকূলবর্তী অঞ্চল থেকে বিস্তর লোক তাঁর কাছে এসে জড় হল৷
KJV : And he came down with them, and stood in the plain, and the company of his disciples, and a great multitude of people out of all Judaea and Jerusalem, and from the sea coast of Tyre and Sidon, which came to hear him, and to be healed of their diseases;

ERVEN : Jesus and the apostles came down from the mountain. Jesus stood on a flat place. A large crowd of his followers was there. Also, there were many people from all around Judea, Jerusalem, and the seacoast cities of Tyre and Sidon.

BNV : তাঁরা তার কথা শুনতে ও তাদের রোগ-ব্যধি থেকে সুস্থ হতে তাঁর কাছে এসেছিল৷ যাঁরা মন্দ আত্মার প্রকোপে কষ্ট পাচ্ছিল তারাও সুস্থ হল৷
KJV : And they that were vexed with unclean spirits: and they were healed.
YLT : and those harassed by unclean spirits, and they were healed,
RV : and they that were troubled with unclean spirits were healed.
RSV : and those who were troubled with unclean spirits were cured.
ASV : and they that were troubled with unclean spirits were healed.
ESV : who came to hear him and to be healed of their diseases. And those who were troubled with unclean spirits were cured.
ERVEN : They all came to hear Jesus teach and to be healed of their sicknesses. He healed the people who were troubled by evil spirits.

BNV : সকলেই তাঁকে স্পর্শ করার চেষ্টা করতে লাগল, কারণ তাঁর মধ্য থেকে শক্তি বের হয়ে তাদের আরোগ্য দান করছিল৷
KJV : And the whole multitude sought to touch him: for there went virtue out of him, and healed [them] all.
YLT : and all the multitude were seeking to touch him, because power from him was going forth, and he was healing all.

BNV : যীশু তাঁর অনুগামীদের দিকে তাকিয়ে বলতে লাগলেন,‘দরিদ্রেরা তোমরা ধন্য, কারণ ঈশ্বরের রাজ্য তোমাদেরই৷
KJV : And he lifted up his eyes on his disciples, and said, {SCJ}Blessed [be ye] poor: for yours is the kingdom of God. {SCJ.}
YLT : And he, having lifted up his eyes to his disciples, said: `Happy the poor -- because yours is the reign of God.
RV : And he lifted up his eyes on his disciples, and said, Blessed {cf15i are} ye poor: for yours is the kingdom of God.

ERVEN : Jesus looked at his followers and said, "What great blessings there are for you who are poor. God's kingdom belongs to you.

BNV : তোমরা এখন যাঁরা ক্ষুধিত, তারা ধন্য কারণ তোমরা পরিতৃপ্ত হবে৷ তোমরা এখন যাঁরা চোখের জল ফেলছ, তারা ধন্য, কারণ তোমরা আনন্দ করবে৷
KJV : {SCJ}Blessed [are ye] that hunger now: for ye shall be filled. Blessed [are ye] that weep now: for ye shall laugh. {SCJ.}
YLT : `Happy those hungering now -- because ye shall be filled. `Happy those weeping now -- because ye shall laugh.

BNV : ‘ধন্য তোমরা যখন মানবপুত্রের লোক বলে অন্য়েরা তোমাদের ঘৃণা করে, সমাজচ্যুত করে, অপমান করে, তোমাদের নাম মুখে আনতে চায় না এবং তোমাদেরকে কিছুতেই মেনে নিতে পারে না৷
KJV : {SCJ}Blessed are ye, when men shall hate you, and when they shall separate you [from their company,] and shall reproach [you,] and cast out your name as evil, for the Son of man’s sake. {SCJ.}
YLT : `Happy are ye when men shall hate you, and when they shall separate you, and shall reproach, and shall cast forth your name as evil, for the Son of Man`s sake --
RV : Blessed are ye, when men shall hate you, and when they shall separate you {cf15i from their company}, and reproach you, and cast out your name as evil, for the Son of man-s sake.

ESV : "Blessed are you when people hate you and when they exclude you and revile you and spurn your name as evil, on account of the Son of Man!
ERVEN : "People will hate you because you belong to the Son of Man. They will make you leave their group. They will insult you. They will think it is wrong even to say your name. When these things happen, know that God will bless you.

BNV : সেই দিন তোমরা আনন্দ করো, আনন্দে নৃত্য করো কারণ দেখ স্বর্গে তোমাদের জন্য পুরস্কার সঞ্চিত আছে৷ ওদের পূর্বপুরুষেরা ভাববাদীদের সঙ্গে এই রকমই ব্যবহার করেছে৷
KJV : {SCJ}Rejoice ye in that day, and leap for joy: for, behold, your reward [is] great in heaven: for in the like manner did their fathers unto the prophets. {SCJ.}
YLT : rejoice in that day, and leap, for lo, your reward [is] great in the heaven, for according to these things were their fathers doing to the prophets.

ERVEN : You can be happy then and jump for joy, because you have a great reward in heaven. The ancestors of those people did the same things to the prophets.

BNV : সে এমন একজন লোকের মতো, য়ে বাড়ি তৈরী করতে গভীর ভাবে খুঁড়ে পাথরের ওপর ভিত গাঁথল৷ তাই যখন বন্যা এল, তখন নদীর জলের ঢেউ এসে সেই বাড়িটিতে আঘাত করল, কিন্তু তা নড়াতে পারল না, কারণ তার ভিত ছিল মজবুত৷
KJV : {SCJ}He is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock. {SCJ.}
