BNV : এরপর তারা সকলে উঠে প্রভু যীশুকে নিয়ে পীলাতের কাছে গেল৷
KJV : And the whole multitude of them arose, and led him unto Pilate.

BNV : আর তারা তাঁর বিরুদ্ধে অভিযোগ করে বলল, ‘আমরা দেখেছি, লোকটা আমাদের জাতিকে বিপথে নিয়ে যাচ্ছে৷ এ কৈসরকে কর দিতে বারণ করে আর বলে, সে নিজেই খ্রীষ্ট, একজন রাজা৷’
KJV : And they began to accuse him, saying, We found this [fellow] perverting the nation, and forbidding to give tribute to Caesar, saying that he himself is Christ a King.

ERVEN : They began to accuse Jesus and said to Pilate, "We caught this man trying to change the thinking of our people. He says we should not pay taxes to Caesar. He calls himself the Christ, a king."

BNV : তখন পীলাত যীশুকে জিজ্ঞেস করলেন, ‘তুমি কি ইহুদীদের রাজা?’ যীশু তাঁকে বললেন, ‘তুমি নিজেই সে কথা বললে৷’
KJV : And Pilate asked him, saying, Art thou the King of the Jews? And he answered him and said, {SCJ}Thou sayest [it. ]{SCJ.}
YLT : And Pilate questioned him, saying, `Thou art the king of the Jews?` and he answering him, said, `Thou dost say [it].`

BNV : এরপর পীলাত প্রধান যাজক ও লোকদের উদ্দেশ্যে বললেন, ‘এই লোকের বিরুদ্ধে কোন দোষই আমি খুঁজে পাচ্ছি না৷’
KJV : Then said Pilate to the chief priests and [to] the people, I find no fault in this man.
YLT : And Pilate said unto the chief priests, and the multitude, `I find no fault in this man;`

BNV : কিন্তু তারা জেদ ধরে বলতে লাগল, ‘এই লোকটি যিহূদার সমস্ত জায়গায় শিক্ষা দিয়ে লোকদের ক্ষেপিয়ে তুলছে৷ গালীল থেকে শুরু করে এখন সে এখানে এসেছে৷’
KJV : And they were the more fierce, saying, He stirreth up the people, teaching throughout all Jewry, beginning from Galilee to this place.
YLT : and they were the more urgent, saying -- `He doth stir up the people, teaching throughout the whole of Judea -- having begun from Galilee -- unto this place.`

BNV : এই কথা শুনে পীলাত জানতে চাইলেন যীশু গালীলের লোক কিনা?
KJV : When Pilate heard of Galilee, he asked whether the man were a Galilaean.
YLT : And Pilate having heard of Galilee, questioned if the man is a Galilean,

BNV : তিনি যখন জানতে পারলেন য়ে হেরোদের শাসনাধীনে য়ে অঞ্চল আছে যীশু সেখানকার লোক, তখন তিনি যীশুকে হেরোদের কাছে পাঠিয়ে দিলেন, কারণ হেরোদ তখন জেরুশালেমেই ছিলেন৷
KJV : And as soon as he knew that he belonged unto Herod’s jurisdiction, he sent him to Herod, who himself also was at Jerusalem at that time.
YLT : and having known that he is from the jurisdiction of Herod, he sent him back unto Herod, he being also in Jerusalem in those days.

BNV : রাজা হেরোদ যীশুকে দেখে খুবই খুশী হলেন, কারণ তিনি অনেকদিন থেকেই তাঁকে দেখতে চাইছিলেন৷ তাঁর বিষয়ে হেরোদ অনেক কথাই শুনেছিলেন এবং আশা করেছিলেন য়ে যীশু কোন অলৌকিক কাজ করে তাঁকে দেখাবেন৷
KJV : And when Herod saw Jesus, he was exceeding glad: for he was desirous to see him of a long [season,] because he had heard many things of him; and he hoped to have seen some miracle done by him.
YLT : And Herod having seen Jesus did rejoice exceedingly, for he was wishing for a long [time] to see him, because of hearing many things about him, and he was hoping some sign to see done by him,

BNV : তিনি যীশুকে অনেক প্রশ্ন করলেন; কিন্তু যীশু তাকে কোন উত্তরই দিলেন না৷
KJV : Then he questioned with him in many words; but he answered him nothing.

BNV : হেরোদ তার সৈন্যদের নিয়ে যীশুকে নানাভাবে অপমান ও উপহাস করলেন৷ পরে একটা সুন্দর আলখাল্লা পরিয়ে তাঁকে আবার পীলাতের কাছে পাঠিয়ে দিলেন৷
KJV : And Herod with his men of war set him at nought, and mocked [him,] and arrayed him in a gorgeous robe, and sent him again to Pilate.

BNV : এর আগে পীলাত ও হেরোদ পরস্পর শত্রু ছিলেন; কিন্তু ঐ দিন তাঁরা পরস্পর আবার বন্ধু হয়ে গেলেন৷
KJV : And the same day Pilate and Herod were made friends together: for before they were at enmity between themselves.

BNV : ‘তোমরা আমার কাছে এই লোকটিকে নিয়ে এসে বলছ য়ে এ লোকদের বিপথে চালিত করছে৷ তোমাদের সামনেই আমি ভালভাবে একে জেরা করে দেখলাম; আর তোমরা এর বিরুদ্ধে য়ে অভিযোগ করছ তার কোন প্রমাণই পেলাম না, সে নির্দোষ৷
KJV : Said unto them, Ye have brought this man unto me, as one that perverteth the people: and, behold, I, having examined [him] before you, have found no fault in this man touching those things whereof ye accuse him:
YLT : said unto them, `Ye brought to me this man as perverting the people, and lo, I before you having examined, found in this man no fault in those things ye bring forward against him;

BNV : এমন কি রাজা হেরোদও পান নি, তাই তিনি একে আবার আমাদের কাছে ফেরত পাঠিয়েছেন৷ আর দেখ, মৃত্যুদণ্ডে র য়োগ্য কোন কাজই এ করে নি৷
KJV : No, nor yet Herod: for I sent you to him; and, lo, nothing worthy of death is done unto him.

BNV : তাই একে আমি আচ্ছা করে চাবুক মেরে ছেড়ে দেব৷’

BNV : শহরের মধ্যে গণ্ডগোল বানানো ও হত্যার অপরাধে বারাব্বাকে কারাবন্দী করা হয়েছিল৷

BNV : পীলাত তৃতীয় বার তাদের বললেন, ‘কেন? এই লোক কি অপরাধ করেছে? মৃত্যুদণ্ড দেবার মতো কোন দোষই তো এর আমি দেখছি না, তাই একে আমি চাবুক মেরে ছেড়ে দেব৷’
KJV : And he said unto them the third time, Why, what evil hath he done? I have found no cause of death in him: I will therefore chastise him, and let [him] go.

BNV : কিন্তু তারা প্রচণ্ড চিত্‌কার করেই চলল, তাঁকে য়েন ক্রুশে দেওযা হয়, এই দাবিতে তারা অনড় থাকল৷ আর শেষ পর্যন্ত তাদের চিত্‌কারেরই জয় হল৷

BNV : পীলাত তাদের অনুরোধ রক্ষা করবেন বলে ঠিক করলেন৷
KJV : And Pilate gave sentence that it should be as they required.

BNV : যাকে বিদ্রোহ ও খুনের অপরাধে কারাগারে রাখা হয়েছিল তাকেই তিনি মুক্তি দিলেন, আর যীশুকে তাদের হাতে তুলে দিলেন য়েন তাকে নিয়ে তারা যা চায় তা করতে পারে৷

ERVEN : They wanted Barabbas to go free—the one who was in jail for starting a riot and for murder. Pilate let Barabbas go free. And he handed Jesus over to be killed. This is what the people wanted.

BNV : তারা যখন যীশুকে নিয়ে যাচ্ছিল তখন কুরীশীর শহরের শিমোন নামে একজন লোককে সৈন্যরা ধরল, সে তখন মাঠ থেকে আসছিল৷ তারা সেই ক্রুশটা তার ঘাড়ে চাপিয়ে যীশুর পেছনে পেছনে সেটা বয়ে নিয়ে য়েতে তাকে বাধ্য করল৷

BNV : এক বিরাট জনতা তার পেছনে পেছনে যাচ্ছিল, তাদের মধ্যে কিছু স্ত্রীলোকও ছিল যাঁরা যীশুর জন্য কান্নাকাটি ও হা-হুতাশ করতে করতে যাচ্ছিল৷
KJV : And there followed him a great company of people, and of women, which also bewailed and lamented him.

BNV : যীশু তাদের দিকে ফিরে বললেন, ‘হে জেরুশালেমের মেয়েরা, তোমরা আমার জন্য কেঁদো না, বরং নিজেদের জন্য ও তোমাদের সন্তানদের জন্য কাঁদ৷
KJV : But Jesus turning unto them said, {SCJ}Daughters of Jerusalem, weep not for me, but weep for yourselves, and for your children. {SCJ.}

BNV : য়ে স্ত্রীলোকেরা যীশুর সঙ্গে সঙ্গে গালীল থেকে এসেছিলেন, তাঁরা য়োষেফের সঙ্গে গেলেন, আর সেই সমাধিটি ও তার মধ্যে কিভাবে যীশুর দেহ শাযিত রাখা হল তা দেখলেন৷

BNV : এরপর তাঁরা বাড়ি ফিরে গিয়ে বিশেষ এক ধরণের সুগন্ধি তেল ও মশলা তৈরী করলেন৷ বিশ্রামবারে তাঁরা বিধি-ব্যবস্থা অনুসারে কাজকর্ম বন্ধ রাখলেন৷
