BNV : এক বিশ্রামবারে যীশু ফরীশীদের একজন নেতৃস্থানীয় লোকের বাড়িতে নিমন্ত্রণ খেতে গেলেন৷ সেখানে সমবেত লোকেরা যীশুর প্রতি লক্ষ্য রাখছিল৷
KJV : And it came to pass, as he went into the house of one of the chief Pharisees to eat bread on the sabbath day, that they watched him.
YLT : And it came to pass, on his going into the house of a certain one of the chiefs of the Pharisees, on a sabbath, to eat bread, that they were watching him,
RV : And it came to pass, when he went into the house of one of the rulers of the Pharisees on a sabbath to eat bread, that they were watching him.
RSV : One sabbath when he went to dine at the house of a ruler who belonged to the Pharisees, they were watching him.
ASV : And it came to pass, when he went into the house of one of the rulers of the Pharisees on a sabbath to eat bread, that they were watching him.
ESV : One Sabbath, when he went to dine at the house of a ruler of the Pharisees, they were watching him carefully.
ERVEN : On a Sabbath day, Jesus went to the home of a leading Pharisee to eat with him. The people there were all watching him very closely.

BNV : যীশুর সামনে একটি লোক ছিল য়ে উদরী রোগে ভুগছিল৷
KJV : And, behold, there was a certain man before him which had the dropsy.
YLT : and lo, there was a certain dropsical man before him;
RV : And behold, there was before him a certain man which had the dropsy.
RSV : And behold, there was a man before him who had dropsy.
ASV : And behold, there was before him a certain man that had the dropsy.
ESV : And behold, there was a man before him who had dropsy.
ERVEN : A man with a bad disease was there in front of him.

BNV : যীশু তখন ব্যবস্থার শিক্ষক ও ফরীশীদের লক্ষ্য করে জিজ্ঞেস করলেন, ‘বিশ্রামবারে কাউকে সুস্থ করা কি বিধিসম্মত?’
KJV : And Jesus answering spake unto the lawyers and Pharisees, saying, {SCJ}Is it lawful to heal on the sabbath day? {SCJ.}
YLT : and Jesus answering spake to the lawyers and Pharisees, saying, `Is it lawful on the sabbath-day to heal?`
RV : And Jesus answering spake unto the lawyers and Pharisees, saying, Is it lawful to heal on the sabbath, or not?
RSV : And Jesus spoke to the lawyers and Pharisees, saying, "Is it lawful to heal on the sabbath, or not?"

ERVEN : Jesus said to the Pharisees and experts in the law, "Is it right or wrong to heal on the Sabbath day?"

BNV : কিন্তু তারা সকলে চুপ করে রইল৷ তখন যীশু সেই অসুস্থ লোকটিকে ধরে তাকে সুস্থ করলেন, পরে বিদায় নিলেন৷
KJV : And they held their peace. And he took [him,] and healed him, and let him go;
YLT : and they were silent, and having taken hold of [him], he healed him, and let [him] go;

BNV : এরপর তিনি তাদের দিকে লক্ষ্য করে বললেন, ‘তোমাদের মধ্যে কারোর সন্তান বা গরু যদি বিশ্রামবারে কুয়ায় পড়ে যায় তাহলে তোমরা কি সঙ্গে সঙ্গে তাকে সেখান থেকে টেনে তুলবে না?’
KJV : And answered them, saying, {SCJ}Which of you shall have an ass or an ox fallen into a pit, and will not straightway pull him out on the sabbath day? {SCJ.}
YLT : and answering them he said, `Of which of you shall an ass or ox fall into a pit, and he will not immediately draw it up on the sabbath-day?`
RV : And he said unto them, Which of you shall have an ass or an ox fallen into a well, and will not straightway draw him up on a sabbath day?
RSV : And he said to them, "Which of you, having a son or an ox that has fallen into a well, will not immediately pull him out on a sabbath day?"
ASV : And he said unto them, Which of you shall have an ass or an ox fallen into a well, and will not straightway draw him up on a sabbath day?
ESV : And he said to them, "Which of you, having a son or an ox that has fallen into a well on a Sabbath day, will not immediately pull him out?"
ERVEN : Jesus said to the Pharisees and teachers of the law, "If your son or work animal falls into a well on the Sabbath day, you know you would pull him out immediately."

BNV : তারা কেউ এই কথার জবাব দিতে পারল না৷
KJV : And they could not answer him again to these things.
YLT : and they were not able to answer him again unto these things.
RV : And they could not answer again unto these things.
RSV : And they could not reply to this.
ASV : And they could not answer again unto these things.
ESV : And they could not reply to these things.
ERVEN : The Pharisees and teachers of the law could say nothing against what he said.

BNV : যীশু দেখলেন নিমন্ত্রিত অতিথিরা কিভাবে নিজেরাই ভোজের শ্রেষ্ঠ আসন দখল করার চেষ্টা করছে৷ তাই তিনি তাদের কাছে এই দৃষ্টান্তটি নিয়ে বললেন,
KJV : And he put forth a parable to those which were bidden, when he marked how they chose out the chief rooms; saying unto them,
YLT : And he spake a simile unto those called, marking how they were choosing out the first couches, saying unto them,
RV : And he spake a parable unto those which were bidden, when he marked how they chose out the chief seats; saying unto them,
RSV : Now he told a parable to those who were invited, when he marked how they chose the places of honor, saying to them,
ASV : And he spake a parable unto those that were bidden, when he marked how they chose out the chief seats; saying unto them,
ESV : Now he told a parable to those who were invited, when he noticed how they chose the places of honor, saying to them,
ERVEN : Then Jesus noticed that some of the guests were choosing the best places to sit. So he told this story:

BNV : ‘বিয়ের ভোজে যখন কেউ তোমাদের নিমন্ত্রণ করে তখন সেখানে গিয়ে সম্মানের আসনটা দখল করে বসবে না৷ কারণ তোমার চেয়ে হয়তো আরো সম্মানিত কাউকে নিমন্ত্রণ করা হয়েছে৷
KJV : {SCJ}When thou art bidden of any [man] to a wedding, sit not down in the highest room; lest a more honourable man than thou be bidden of him; {SCJ.}
YLT : `When thou mayest be called by any one to marriage-feasts, thou mayest not recline on the first couch, lest a more honourable than thou may have been called by him,
RV : When thou art bidden of any man to a marriage feast, sit not down in the chief seat; lest haply a more honourable man than thou be bidden of him,
RSV : "When you are invited by any one to a marriage feast, do not sit down in a place of honor, lest a more eminent man than you be invited by him;

ERVEN : "When someone invites you to a wedding, don't sit in the most important seat. They may have invited someone more important than you.

BNV : তা করলে যিনি তোমাদের উভয়কেই নিমন্ত্রণ করেছেন, তিনি এসে তোমায় বলবেন, ‘এঁকে তোমার জায়গাটা ছেড়ে দাও!’ তখন তুমি লজ্জায় পড়বে, কারণ তোমাকে সবচেয়ে নীচু জায়গায় বসতে হবে৷
KJV : {SCJ}And he that bade thee and him come and say to thee, Give this man place; and thou begin with shame to take the lowest room. {SCJ.}
YLT : and he who did call thee and him having come shall say to thee, Give to this one place, and then thou mayest begin with shame to occupy the last place.
RV : and he that bade thee and him shall come and say to thee, Give this man place; and then thou shalt begin with shame to take the lowest place.
RSV : and he who invited you both will come and say to you, `Give place to this man,' and then you will begin with shame to take the lowest place.

ERVEN : And if you are sitting in the most important seat, they will come to you and say, 'Give this man your seat!' Then you will have to move down to the last place and be embarrassed.

BNV : কিন্তু তুমি যখন নিমন্ত্রিত হয়ে যাও, সেখানে গিয়ে সবচেয়ে নীচু জায়গায় বসবে৷ যিনি তোমায় নিমন্ত্রণ করেছেন তিনি এসে এরকম দেখে তোমায় বলবেন, ‘বন্ধু এস, এই ভাল আসনে বস৷’ তখন নিমন্ত্রিত অন্য সব অতিথিদের সামনে তোমার সম্মান হবে৷
KJV : {SCJ}But when thou art bidden, go and sit down in the lowest room; that when he that bade thee cometh, he may say unto thee, Friend, go up higher: then shalt thou have worship in the presence of them that sit at meat with thee. {SCJ.}
YLT : `But, when thou mayest be called, having gone on, recline in the last place, that when he who called thee may come, he may say to thee, Friend, come up higher; then thou shalt have glory before those reclining with thee;

ERVEN : "So when someone invites you, go sit in the seat that is not important. Then they will come to you and say, 'Friend, move up here to this better place!' What an honor this will be for you in front of all the other guests.

BNV : য়ে কেউ নিজেকে সম্মান দিতে চায় তাকে নত করা হবে, আর য়ে নিজেকে নত করে তাকে সম্মানিত করা হবে৷’
KJV : {SCJ}For whosoever exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted. {SCJ.}
YLT : because every one who is exalting himself shall be humbled, and he who is humbling himself shall be exalted.`
RV : For every one that exalteth himself shall be humbled; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.
RSV : For every one who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted."
ASV : For everyone that exalteth himself shall be humbled; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.
ESV : For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted."
ERVEN : Everyone who makes themselves important will be made humble. But everyone who makes themselves humble will be made important."

BNV : তখন য়ে তাঁকে নিমন্ত্রণ করেছিল, তাকে যীশু বললেন, ‘তুমি যখন ভোজের আযোজন করবে তখন তোমার বন্ধু, ভাই, আত্মীয়স্বজন বা ধনী প্রতিবেশীদের নিমন্ত্রণ কোর না, কারণ তারা তোমাকে পাল্টা নিমন্ত্রণ করে প্রতিদান দেবে৷
KJV : Then said he also to him that bade him, {SCJ}When thou makest a dinner or a supper, call not thy friends, nor thy brethren, neither thy kinsmen, nor [thy] rich neighbours; lest they also bid thee again, and a recompence be made thee. {SCJ.}
YLT : And he said also to him who did call him, `When thou mayest make a dinner or a supper, be not calling thy friends, nor thy brethren, nor thy kindred, nor rich neighbours, lest they may also call thee again, and a recompense may come to thee;
RV : And he said to him also that had bidden him, When thou makest a dinner or a supper, call not thy friends, nor thy brethren, nor thy kinsmen, nor rich neighbours; lest haply they also bid thee again, and a recompense be made thee.
RSV : He said also to the man who had invited him, "When you give a dinner or a banquet, do not invite your friends or your brothers or your kinsmen or rich neighbors, lest they also invite you in return, and you be repaid.
ASV : And he said to him also that had bidden him, When thou makest a dinner or a supper, call not thy friends, nor thy brethren, nor thy kinsmen, nor rich neighbors; lest haply they also bid thee again, and a recompense be made thee.
ESV : He said also to the man who had invited him, "When you give a dinner or a banquet, do not invite your friends or your brothers or your relatives or rich neighbors, lest they also invite you in return and you be repaid.
ERVEN : Then Jesus said to the Pharisee who had invited him, "When you give a lunch or a dinner, don't invite only your friends, brothers, relatives, and rich neighbors. At another time they will pay you back by inviting you to eat with them.

BNV : কিন্তু তুমি যখন ভোজের আযোজন করবে তখন দরিদ্র, খোঁড়া, বিকলাঙ্গ ও অন্ধদের নিমন্ত্রণ কোর৷
KJV : {SCJ}But when thou makest a feast, call the poor, the maimed, the lame, the blind: {SCJ.}
YLT : but when thou mayest make a feast, be calling poor, maimed, lame, blind,
RV : But when thou makest a feast, bid the poor, the maimed, the lame, the blind:

BNV : তাতে যাদের প্রতিদান দেবার ক্ষমতা নেই, সেই রকম লোকদের নিমন্ত্রণ করার জন্য ধার্মিকদের পুনরুত্থানের সময় ঈশ্বর তোমায় পুরস্কার দেবেন৷’
KJV : {SCJ}And thou shalt be blessed; for they cannot recompense thee: for thou shalt be recompensed at the resurrection of the just. {SCJ.}
YLT : and happy thou shalt be, because they have not to recompense thee, for it shall be recompensed to thee in the rising again of the righteous.`
RV : and thou shalt be blessed; because they have not {cf15i wherewith} to recompense thee: for thou shalt be recompensed in the resurrection of the just.
RSV : and you will be blessed, because they cannot repay you. You will be repaid at the resurrection of the just."

ERVEN : Then you will have great blessings, because these people cannot pay you back. They have nothing. But God will reward you at the time when all godly people rise from death."

BNV : যাঁরা খেতে বসেছিল তাদের মধ্যে একজন এই কথা শুনে যীশুকে বলল, ‘ঈশ্বরের রাজ্যে যাঁরা খেতে বসবে তারা সকলে ধন্য৷’
KJV : And when one of them that sat at meat with him heard these things, he said unto him, Blessed [is] he that shall eat bread in the kingdom of God.
YLT : And one of those reclining with him, having heard these things, said to him, `Happy [is] he who shall eat bread in the reign of God;`
RV : And when one of them that sat at meat with him heard these things, he said unto him, Blessed is he that shall eat bread in the kingdom of God.
RSV : When one of those who sat at table with him heard this, he said to him, "Blessed is he who shall eat bread in the kingdom of God!"
ASV : And when one of them that sat at meat with him heard these things, he said unto him, Blessed is he that shall eat bread in the kingdom of God.
ESV : When one of those who reclined at table with him heard these things, he said to him, "Blessed is everyone who will eat bread in the kingdom of God!"
ERVEN : One of the men sitting at the table with Jesus heard these things. The man said to him, "What a great blessing it will be for anyone to eat a meal in God's kingdom!"

BNV : তখন যীশু তাকে বললেন, ‘একজন লোক এক বিরাট ভোজের আযোজন করেছিল আর সে অনেক লোককে নিমন্ত্রণ করেছিল৷
KJV : Then said he unto him, {SCJ}A certain man made a great supper, and bade many: {SCJ.}
YLT : and he said to him, `A certain man made a great supper, and called many,
RV : But he said unto him, A certain man made a great supper; and he bade many:
RSV : But he said to him, "A man once gave a great banquet, and invited many;
ASV : But he said unto him, A certain man made a great supper; and he bade many:

ERVEN : Jesus said to him, "A man gave a big dinner. He invited many people.

BNV : ভোজ খাওযার সময় হলে সে তার দাসকে দিয়ে নিমন্ত্রিত লোকদের বলে পাঠাল, ‘তোমরা এস! কারণ এখন সবকিছু প্রস্তুত হয়েছে!
KJV : {SCJ}And sent his servant at supper time to say to them that were bidden, Come; for all things are now ready. {SCJ.}
YLT : and he sent his servant at the hour of the supper to say to those having been called, Be coming, because now are all things ready.
RV : and he sent forth his servant at supper time to say to them that were bidden, Come; for {cf15i all} things are now ready.

ERVEN : When it was time to eat, he sent his servant to tell the guests, 'Come. The food is ready.'

BNV : তারা সকলেই নানা অজুহাত দেখাতে শুরু করল৷ প্রথম জন তাকে বলল, ‘আমায় মাপ কর, কারণ আমি একটা ক্ষেত কিনেছি, তা এখন আমায় দেখতে য়েতে হবে৷’
KJV : {SCJ}And they all with one [consent] began to make excuse. The first said unto him, I have bought a piece of ground, and I must needs go and see it: I pray thee have me excused. {SCJ.}
YLT : `And they began with one consent all to excuse themselves: The first said to him, A field I bought, and I have need to go forth and see it; I beg of thee, have me excused.
RV : And they all with one {cf15i consent} began to make excuse. The first said unto him, I have bought a field, and I must needs go out and see it: I pray thee have me excused.
RSV : But they all alike began to make excuses. The first said to him, `I have bought a field, and I must go out and see it; I pray you, have me excused.'

ERVEN : But all the guests said they could not come. Each one made an excuse. The first one said, 'I have just bought a field, so I must go look at it. Please excuse me.'

BNV : আর একজন বলল, ‘আমি পাঁচ জোড়া বলদ কিনেছি, এখন সেগুলি একটু পরখ করে নিতে চাই, তাই আমি য়েতে পারব না আমায় মাপ কর৷’
KJV : {SCJ}And another said, I have bought five yoke of oxen, and I go to prove them: I pray thee have me excused. {SCJ.}
YLT : `And another said, Five yoke of oxen I bought, and I go on to prove them; I beg of thee, have me excused:
RV : And another said, I have bought five yoke of oxen, and I go to prove them: I pray thee have me excused.
RSV : And another said, `I have bought five yoke of oxen, and I go to examine them; I pray you, have me excused.'
ASV : And another said, I have bought five yoke of oxen, and I go to prove them; I pray thee have me excused.
ESV : And another said, 'I have bought five yoke of oxen, and I go to examine them. Please have me excused.'
ERVEN : Another man said, 'I have just bought five pairs of work animals; I must go and try them out. Please excuse me.'

BNV : এরপর আর একজন বলল, ‘আমি সবে মাত্র বিয়ে করেছি, সেই কারণে আমি আসতে পারব না৷’
KJV : {SCJ}And another said, I have married a wife, and therefore I cannot come. {SCJ.}
YLT : and another said, A wife I married, and because of this I am not able to come.
RV : And another said, I have married a wife, and therefore I cannot come.
RSV : And another said, `I have married a wife, and therefore I cannot come.'
ASV : And another said, I have married a wife, and therefore I cannot come.
ESV : And another said, 'I have married a wife, and therefore I cannot come.'
ERVEN : A third man said, 'I just got married; I can't come.'

BNV : সেই দাস ফিরে গিয়ে তার মনিবকে একথা জানালে, তার মনিব রেগে গিয়ে তার দাসকে বলল, ‘যাও, শহরের পথে পথে, অলিতে গলিতে গিয়ে গরীব, খোঁড়া, পঙ্গু ও অন্ধদের ডেকে নিয়ে এস৷’
KJV : {SCJ}So that servant came, and shewed his lord these things. Then the master of the house being angry said to his servant, Go out quickly into the streets and lanes of the city, and bring in hither the poor, and the maimed, and the halt, and the blind. {SCJ.}
YLT : `And that servant having come, told to his lord these things, then the master of the house, having been angry, said to his servant, Go forth quickly to the broad places and lanes of the city, and the poor, and maimed, and lame, and blind, bring in hither.
RV : And the servant came, and told his lord these things. Then the master of the house being angry said to his servant, Go out quickly into the streets and lanes of the city, and bring in hither the poor and maimed and blind and lame.
RSV : So the servant came and reported this to his master. Then the householder in anger said to his servant, `Go out quickly to the streets and lanes of the city, and bring in the poor and maimed and blind and lame.'
ASV : And the servant came, and told his lord these things. Then the master of the house being angry said to his servant, Go out quickly into the streets and lanes of the city, and bring in hither the poor and maimed and blind and lame.
ESV : So the servant came and reported these things to his master. Then the master of the house became angry and said to his servant, 'Go out quickly to the streets and lanes of the city, and bring in the poor and crippled and blind and lame.'
ERVEN : "So the servant returned and told his master what happened. The master was angry. He said, 'Hurry! Go into the streets and alleys of the town. Bring me the poor, the crippled, the blind, and the lame.'

BNV : এরপর সেই দাস মনিবকে বলল, ‘প্রভু, আপনি যা যা বলেছেন তা করেছি, তা সত্ত্বেও এখনও অনেক জায়গা আছে৷
KJV : {SCJ}And the servant said, Lord, it is done as thou hast commanded, and yet there is room. {SCJ.}
YLT : `And the servant said, Sir, it hath been done as thou didst command, and still there is room.
RV : And the servant said, Lord, what thou didst command is done, and yet there is room.
RSV : And the servant said, `Sir, what you commanded has been done, and still there is room.'
ASV : And the servant said, Lord, what thou didst command is done, and yet there is room.
ESV : And the servant said, 'Sir, what you commanded has been done, and still there is room.'
ERVEN : "Later, the servant said to him, 'Master, I did what you told me to do, but we still have places for more people.'

BNV : তখন মনিব সেই দাসকে বলল, ‘এবার তুমি গ্রামের পথে পথে, বেড়ার ধারে ধারে যাও, যাকে পাও তাকেই এখানে আসবার জন্য জোর কর, য়েন আমার বাড়ি ভরে যায়৷
KJV : {SCJ}And the lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel [them] to come in, that my house may be filled. {SCJ.}
YLT : `And the lord said unto the servant, Go forth to the ways and hedges, and constrain to come in, that my house may be filled;
RV : And the lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and constrain {cf15i them} to come in, that my house may be filled.
RSV : And the master said to the servant, `Go out to the highways and hedges, and compel people to come in, that my house may be filled.

ESV : And the master said to the servant, 'Go out to the highways and hedges and compel people to come in, that my house may be filled.
ERVEN : The master said to the servant, 'Go out to the highways and country roads. Tell the people there to come. I want my house to be full!

BNV : আমি তোমাদের বলছি, যাদের প্রথমে নিমন্ত্রণ করা হয়েছিল, তাদের কেউই আমার এই ভোজের স্বাদ পাবে না!”
KJV : {SCJ}For I say unto you, That none of those men which were bidden shall taste of my supper. {SCJ.}
