মিশরে আসার পথে প্রভু মোশির সঙ্গে কথা বলেছিলেন| তিনি বলেছিলেন, “আমি তোমাকে অলৌকিক কাজ দেখানোর য়ে সব শক্তি দিয়েছি সেগুলো সব ফরৌণের সঙ্গে কথা বলার সময় তার সামনে করে দেখাবে| কিন্তু আমি ফরৌণকে একগুঁয়ে এবং জেদী করে তুলব| সে লোকদের কিছুতেই ছেড়ে দেবে না|

And the LORD said unto Moses, When thou goest to return into Egypt, see that thou do all those wonders before Pharaoh, which I have put in thine hand: but I will harden his heart, that he shall not let the people go.
