ରାଜା କହିଲେ, " ଯେଉଁ ସମୟରେ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନେେ ଏବ୍ରୀଯା ସ୍ତ୍ରୀମାନଙ୍କର ଧାତ୍ରୀ କାର୍ୟ୍ଯ କରିବ ଓ ସମାନଙ୍କେର ପିଲା ଜନ୍ମ କରିବା ରେ ସାହାୟ୍ଯ କରିବ, ପୁତ୍ର ସନ୍ତାନ ଥିଲେ ସମାନଙ୍କେୁ ମାରିଦବେ ଓ କନ୍ଯା ସନ୍ତାନ ହେଲେ ସମାନଙ୍କେୁ ଜୀବିତ ରଖିବ।"

And he said, When ye do the office of a midwife to the Hebrew women, and see [them] upon the stools; if it [be] a son, then ye shall kill him: but if it [be] a daughter, then she shall live.
