BNV : এরপর যীশু পবিত্র আত্মায় পূর্ণ হয়ে যর্দন নদী থেকে ফিরে এলেন: আর আত্মার পরিচালনায় প্রান্তরের মধ্যে গেলেন৷
KJV : And Jesus being full of the Holy Ghost returned from Jordan, and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness,

BNV : সেখানে চল্লিশ দিন ধরে দিযাবল তাঁকে প্রলোভনে ফেলতে চাইল৷ সেই সময় তিনি কিছুই খাদ্য গ্রহণ করেন নি৷ ঐ সময় পার হয়ে গেলে যীশুর খিদে পেল৷
KJV : Being forty days tempted of the devil. And in those days he did eat nothing: and when they were ended, he afterward hungered.

BNV : তখন দিযাবল তাঁকে বলল, ‘তুমি যদি ঈশ্বরের পুত্র হও, তবে এই পাথরটিকে রুটি হয়ে য়েতে বল৷’
KJV : And the devil said unto him, If thou be the Son of God, command this stone that it be made bread.
YLT : and the Devil said to him, `If Son thou art of God, speak to this stone that it may become bread.`

BNV : এর উত্তরে যীশু তাকে বললেন, ‘শাস্ত্রে লেখা আছে: ‘মানুষ কেবল রুটিতেই বাঁচে না৷” দ্বিতীয় বিবরণ 8:3
KJV : And Jesus answered him, saying, {SCJ}It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God. {SCJ.}

BNV : এরপর দিযাবল তাঁকে একটা উঁচু জায়গায় নিয়ে গেল আর মুহূর্তের মধ্যে জগতের সমস্ত রাজ্য দেখাল৷
KJV : And the devil, taking him up into an high mountain, shewed unto him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time.

BNV : দিযাবল যীশুকে বলল, ‘এই সব রাজ্যের পরাক্রম ও মহিমা আমি তোমায় দেব, কারণ এই সমস্তই আমাকে দেওযা হয়েছে, আর আমি যাকে চাই তাকেই এসব দিতে পারি৷
KJV : And the devil said unto him, All this power will I give thee, and the glory of them: for that is delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will I give it.
YLT : and the Devil said to him, `To thee I will give all this authority, and their glory, because to me it hath been delivered, and to whomsoever I will, I do give it;

BNV : এখন তুমি যদি আমার উপাসনা কর তবে এসবই তোমার হবে৷’
KJV : If thou therefore wilt worship me, all shall be thine.
YLT : thou, then, if thou mayest bow before me -- all shall be thine.`

BNV : এরপর দিযাবল তাঁকে জেরুশালেমে নিয়ে গিয়ে মন্দিরের চূড়ার ওপরে দাঁড় করিয়ে বলল, ‘তুমি যদি ঈশ্বরের পুত্র হও, তবে এখান থেকে লাফ দিয়ে নীচে পড়৷

BNV : আরো লেখা আছে:‘তারা তোমাকে তাদের হাতে করে তুলে ধরবে য়েন তোমার পায়ে পাথরের আঘাত না লাগে৷” গীতসংহিতা 91 :12
KJV : And in [their] hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.

BNV : এইভাবে দিযাবল তাঁকে সমস্ত রকমের প্রলোভনে ফেলার চেষ্টা করে, আরো ভাল সুয়োগের অপেক্ষায় যীশুকে ছেড়ে চলে গেল৷
KJV : And when the devil had ended all the temptation, he departed from him for a season.

BNV : যীশু পবিত্র আত্মার পরিচালনায় গালীলে ফিরে গেলে ঐ সংবাদ সেই অঞ্চলের সব জায়গায় ছড়িয়ে পড়ল৷
KJV : And Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee: and there went out a fame of him through all the region round about.
YLT : And Jesus turned back in the power of the Spirit to Galilee, and a fame went forth through all the region round about concerning him,

BNV : এরপর যীশু নাসরতে গেলেন, এখানেই তিনি প্রতিপালিত হয়েছিলেন৷ তাঁর রীতি অনুসারে বিশ্রামবারে তিনি সমাজ-গৃহেগিয়ে সেখানে শাস্ত্র পাঠ করার জন্য উঠে দাঁড়ালেন৷

BNV : ‘প্রভুর আত্মা আমার ওপর আছেন কারণ দীন দরিদ্রের কাছে সুসমাচার প্রচারের জন্য তিনিই আমায় নিযুক্ত করেছেন৷ তিনি আমাকে বন্দীদের কাছে স্বাধীনতার কথা ও অন্ধদের কাছে দৃষ্টি ফিরে পাবার কথা ঘোষণা করতে পাঠিয়েছেন; আর নির্যাতিতদের মুক্ত করতে বলেছেন৷
KJV : {SCJ}The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, {SCJ.}

BNV : এছাড়া প্রভুর অনুগ্রহ দানের বত্‌সরের কথা ঘোষণা করতেও পাঠিয়েছেন৷ যিশাইয় 61:1-2
KJV : {SCJ}To preach the acceptable year of the Lord. {SCJ.}

BNV : এরপর তিনি পুস্তকটি গুটিয়ে সেখানকার সহায়কদের হাতে দিয়ে বসলেন৷ সমাজ-গৃহে যাঁরা সে সময় ছিল, তাদের সকলের দৃষ্টি তাঁর ওপর গিয়ে পড়ল৷
KJV : And he closed the book, and he gave [it] again to the minister, and sat down. And the eyes of all them that were in the synagogue were fastened on him.
YLT : And having folded the roll, having given [it] back to the officer, he sat down, and the eyes of all in the synagogue were gazing on him.

BNV : তখন তিনি তাদের বললেন, ‘শাস্ত্রের এই কথা যা তোমরা শুনলে তা আজ পূর্ণ হল৷’
KJV : And he began to say unto them, {SCJ}This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears. {SCJ.}

ERVEN : he began to speak to them. He said, "While you heard me reading these words just now, they were coming true!"

BNV : সকলেই তাঁর খুব প্রশংসা করল, তাঁর মুখে অপূর্ব সব কথা শুনে তারা আশ্চর্য হয়ে গেল৷ তারা বলল, ‘এ কি য়োষেফের ছেলে নয়?’
KJV : And all bare him witness, and wondered at the gracious words which proceeded out of his mouth. And they said, Is not this Joseph’s son?
YLT : and all were bearing testimony to him, and were wondering at the gracious words that are coming forth out of his mouth, and they said, `Is not this the son of Joseph?`
RV : And all bare him witness, and wondered at the words of grace which proceeded out of his mouth: and they said, Is not this Joseph-s son?

ERVEN : Everyone there said good things about Jesus. They were amazed to hear him speak such wonderful words. They said, "How is this possible? Isn't he Joseph's son?"

BNV : তখন তিনি তাদের বললেন, ‘তোমরা নিশ্চয়ই আমার বিষয়ে প্রচলিত প্রবাদটি বলবে, ‘চিকিত্‌সক, আগে নিজেকে সুস্থ কর৷’ কফরনাহূমে য়ে সমস্ত কাজ করেছ বলে আমরা শুনেছি সে সব এখন এখানে নিজের গ্রামেও কর দেখি!”
KJV : And he said unto them, {SCJ}Ye will surely say unto me this proverb, Physician, heal thyself: whatsoever we have heard done in Capernaum, do also here in thy country. {SCJ.}
YLT : And he said unto them, `Certainly ye will say to me this simile, Physician, heal thyself; as great things as we heard done in Capernaum, do also here in thy country;`
RV : And he said unto them, Doubtless ye will say unto me this parable, Physician, heal thyself: whatsoever we have heard done at Capernaum, do also here in thine own country.
RSV : And he said to them, "Doubtless you will quote to me this proverb, `Physician, heal yourself; what we have heard you did at Capernaum, do here also in your own country.'"
ASV : And he said unto them, Doubtless ye will say unto me this parable, Physician, heal thyself: whatsoever we have heard done at Capernaum, do also here in thine own country.
ESV : And he said to them, "Doubtless you will quote to me this proverb, 'Physician, heal yourself.' What we have heard you did at Capernaum, do here in your hometown as well."
ERVEN : Jesus said to them, "I know you will tell me the old saying: 'Doctor, heal yourself.' You want to say, 'We heard about the things you did in Capernaum. Do those same things here in your own hometown!'"

BNV : তারপর যীশু বললেন, ‘আমি তোমাদের সত্যি বলছি, কোন ভাববাদী তাঁর নিজের গ্রামে গ্রাহ্য হন না৷
KJV : And he said, {SCJ}Verily I say unto you, No prophet is accepted in his own country. {SCJ.}
YLT : and he said, `Verily I say to you -- No prophet is accepted in his own country;

BNV : সত্যি বলতে কি এলীয়র সময়ে যখন সাড়ে তিন বছর ধরে আকাশ রুদ্ধ ছিল এবং সারা দেশে ভয়ঙ্কর দুর্ভিক্ষ চলছিল, সেই সময ইস্রায়েল দেশে অনেক বিধবা ছিল৷
KJV : {SCJ}But I tell you of a truth, many widows were in Israel in the days of Elias, when the heaven was shut up three years and six months, when great famine was throughout all the land; {SCJ.}
YLT : and of a truth I say to you, Many widows were in the days of Elijah, in Israel, when the heaven was shut for three years and six months, when great famine came on all the land,
