BNV : এরপর যীশু সেখান থেকে জৈতুন পর্বতমালায় চলে গেলেন৷

BNV : খুব ভোরে তিনি আবার মন্দিরে ফিরে গেলে লোকেরা আবার তাঁর কাছে এসে জড়ো হল, তখন তিনি সেখানে বসে তাদের কাছে শিক্ষা দিতে শুরু করলেন৷
KJV : And early in the morning he came again into the temple, and all the people came unto him; and he sat down, and taught them.

BNV : সেই সময় ব্যবস্থার শিক্ষকরা ও ফরীশীরা, ব্যভিচার করতে গিয়ে ধরা পড়েছে এমন একজন স্ত্রীলোককে তাঁর কাছে নিয়ে এল৷ তারা সেই স্ত্রীলোককে তাদের মাঝখানে দাঁড় করিয়ে যীশুকে বলল,
KJV : And the scribes and Pharisees brought unto him a woman taken in adultery; and when they had set her in the midst,
YLT : and the scribes and the Pharisees bring unto him a woman having been taken in adultery, and having set her in the midst,

ERVEN : The teachers of the law and the Pharisees brought a woman they had caught in bed with a man who was not her husband. They forced her to stand in front of the people.

BNV : ‘গুরু, এই স্ত্রীলোকটি ব্যভিচার করার সময় হাতে নাতেই ধরা পড়েছে৷
KJV : They say unto him, Master, this woman was taken in adultery, in the very act.
YLT : they say to him, `Teacher, this woman was taken in the very crime -- committing adultery,

BNV : বিধি-ব্যবস্থার মধ্যে মোশি আমাদের বলছেন, এই ধরণের স্ত্রীলোককে য়েন আমরা পাথর ছুঁড়ে মেরে ফেলি৷ এখন আপনি এবিষয়ে কি বলবেন?’
KJV : Now Moses in the law commanded us, that such should be stoned: but what sayest thou?
YLT : and in the law, Moses did command us that such be stoned; thou, therefore, what dost thou say?`
RV : Now in the law Moses commanded us to stone such: what then sayest thou of her?
RSV : Now in the law Moses commanded us to stone such. What do you say about her?"

ERVEN : The Law of Moses commands us to stone to death any such woman. What do you say we should do?"

BNV : তাঁকে পরীক্ষা করার ছলেই তারা একথা বলছিল, যাতে তাঁর বিরুদ্ধে কোন অভিযোগ তারা খুঁজে পায়৷ কিন্তু যীশু হেঁট হয়ে মাটিতে আঙ্গুল দিয়ে লিখতে লাগলেন৷
KJV : This they said, tempting him, that they might have to accuse him. But Jesus stooped down, and with [his] finger wrote on the ground, [as though he heard them not. ]
YLT : and this they said, trying him, that they might have to accuse him. And Jesus, having stooped down, with the finger he was writing on the ground,

ERVEN : They were saying this to trick Jesus. They wanted to catch him saying something wrong so that they could have a charge against him. But Jesus stooped down and started writing on the ground with his finger.

BNV : ইহুদী নেতারা যখন বার বার তাঁকে জিজ্ঞেস করতে লাগল, তখন তিনি সোজা হয়ে বসলেন এবং বললেন, ‘তোমাদের মধ্যে য়ে নিস্পাপ সেই প্রথম একে পাথর মারুক৷’
KJV : So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, {SCJ}He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her. {SCJ.}
YLT : and when they continued asking him, having bent himself back, he said unto them, `The sinless of you -- let him first cast the stone at her;`

BNV : এরপর তিনি আবার হেঁট হয়ে আঙ্গুল দিয়ে মাটিতে লিখতে লাগলেন৷
KJV : And again he stooped down, and wrote on the ground.

BNV : তারা ঐ কথা শোনার পর বুড়ো লোক থেকে শুরু করে সকলে এক এক করে সেখান থেকে চলে গেল৷ কেবল যীশু সেখানে একা থাকলেন আর সেই স্ত্রীলোকটি মাঝখানে দাঁড়িয়ে ছিল৷
KJV : And they which heard [it,] being convicted by [their own] conscience, went out one by one, beginning at the eldest, [even] unto the last: and Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst.
YLT : and they having heard, and by the conscience being convicted, were going forth one by one, having begun from the elders -- unto the last; and Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst.

ERVEN : When they heard this, they began to leave one by one. The older men left first, and then the others. Jesus was left alone with the woman standing there in front of him.

BNV : তখন যীশু মাথা তুলে সেই স্ত্রীলোকটিকে বললেন, ‘হে নারী, তারা সব কোথায়? কেউ কি তোমায় দোষী সাব্যস্ত করল না?’
KJV : When Jesus had lifted up himself, and saw none but the woman, he said unto her, {SCJ}Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee? {SCJ.}
YLT : And Jesus having bent himself back, and having seen no one but the woman, said to her, `Woman, where are those -- thine accusers? did no one pass sentence upon thee?`
RV : And Jesus lifted up himself, and said unto her, Woman, where are they? did no man condemn thee?
RSV : Jesus looked up and said to her, "Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you?"

ERVEN : He looked up again and said to her, "Where did they all go? Did no one judge you guilty?"

BNV : স্ত্রীলোকটি উত্তর দিল, ‘কেউ করে নি, মহাশয়৷’ তখন যীশু বললেন, ‘আমিও তোমায় দোষী করছি না, যাও এখন থেকে আর পাপ কোরো না৷’
KJV : She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, {SCJ}Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more. {SCJ.}
YLT : and she said, `No one, Sir;` and Jesus said to her, `Neither do I pass sentence on thee; be going on, and no more sin.`
RV : And she said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said, Neither do I condemn thee: go thy way; from henceforth sin no more.}
RSV : She said, "No one, Lord." And Jesus said, "Neither do I condemn you; go, and do not sin again."

ERVEN : She answered, "No one, sir." Then Jesus said, "I don't judge you either. You can go now, but don't sin again."

BNV : এরপর যীশু আবার লোকদের সাথে কথা বলতে শুরু করলেন এবং বললেন, ‘আমিই জগতের আলো৷ য়ে কেউ আমার অনুসারী হয় সে কখনও অন্ধকারে থাকবে না; কিন্তু সেই আলো পাবে যা জীবন দেয়৷’
KJV : Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, {SCJ}I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life. {SCJ.}
YLT : Again, therefore, Jesus spake to them, saying, `I am the light of the world; he who is following me shall not walk in the darkness, but he shall have the light of the life.`
RV : Again therefore Jesus spake unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in the darkness, but shall have the light of life.

BNV : তখন ফরীশীরা তাঁকে বলল, ‘তুমি নিজেই নিজের বিষয়ে সাক্ষ্য দিচ্ছ৷ তোমার সাক্ষ্য গ্রাহ্য হবে না৷’
KJV : The Pharisees therefore said unto him, Thou bearest record of thyself; thy record is not true.
YLT : The Pharisees, therefore, said to him, `Thou of thyself dost testify, thy testimony is not true;`
RV : The Pharisees therefore said unto him, Thou bearest witness of thyself; thy witness is not true.
RSV : The Pharisees then said to him, "You are bearing witness to yourself; your testimony is not true."
ASV : The Pharisees therefore said unto him, Thou bearest witness of thyself; thy witness is not true.
ESV : So the Pharisees said to him, "You are bearing witness about yourself; your testimony is not true."
ERVEN : But the Pharisees said to Jesus, "When you talk about yourself, you are the only one to say that these things are true. So we cannot accept what you say."

BNV : এর উত্তরে যীশু তাদের বললেন, ‘আমি যদি নিজের পক্ষে সাক্ষ্য দিই, তবু আমার সাক্ষ্য সত্য, কারণ আমি জানি আমি কোথা থেকে এসেছি, আর কোথায় বা যাচ্ছি; কিন্তু আমি কোথা থেকে এসেছি বা কোথায় যাচ্ছি তা তোমরা জানো না৷
KJV : Jesus answered and said unto them, {SCJ}Though I bear record of myself, [yet] my record is true: for I know whence I came, and whither I go; but ye cannot tell whence I come, and whither I go. {SCJ.}
YLT : Jesus answered and said to them, `And if I testify of myself -- my testimony is true, because I have known whence I came, and whither I go, and ye -- ye have not known whence I come, or whither I go.
RV : Jesus answered and said unto them, Even if I bear witness of myself, my witness is true; for I know whence I came, and whither I go; but ye know not whence I come, or whither I go.

BNV : মানুষের বিচারবোধের মাপকাঠিতে তোমরা আমার বিচার করছ৷ আমি কারো বিচার করি না৷
KJV : {SCJ}Ye judge after the flesh; I judge no man. {SCJ.}
YLT : `Ye according to the flesh do judge; I do not judge any one,
RV : Ye judge after the flesh; I judge no man.
RSV : You judge according to the flesh, I judge no one.

BNV : কিন্তু আমি যদি বিচার করি, তবে আমার বিচার সত্য, কারণ আমি একা নই৷ পিতা, যিনি আমাকে পাঠিয়েছেন তিনি আমার সঙ্গেই আছেন৷
KJV : {SCJ}And yet if I judge, my judgment is true: for I am not alone, but I and the Father that sent me. {SCJ.}
YLT : and even if I do judge my judgment is true, because I am not alone, but I and the Father who sent me;

BNV : তোমাদের নিয়মে লেখা আছে, যখন দুই ব্যক্তি একই সাক্ষ্য দেয় তখন তা সত্যি৷
KJV : {SCJ}It is also written in your law, that the testimony of two men is true. {SCJ.}
YLT : and also in your law it hath been written, that the testimony of two men are true;

BNV : আমি নিজেই নিজের বিষয়ে সাক্ষ্য দিই৷ আর পিতা, যিনি আমায় পাঠিয়েছেন তিনিও আমার বিষয়ে সাক্ষ্য দেন৷’
KJV : {SCJ}I am one that bear witness of myself, and the Father that sent me beareth witness of me. {SCJ.}
YLT : I am [one] who is testifying of myself, and the Father who sent me doth testify of me.`
RV : I am he that beareth witness of myself, and the Father that sent me beareth witness of me.

BNV : তখন তারা তাঁকে জিজ্ঞেস করল, ‘তোমার পিতা কোথায়?’যীশু বললেন, ‘তোমরা না জানো আমাকে, না জানো আমার পিতাকে৷ তোমরা যদি আমাকে জানতে, তবে আমার পিতাকেও জানতে৷’
KJV : Then said they unto him, Where is thy Father? Jesus answered, {SCJ}Ye neither know me, nor my Father: if ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also. {SCJ.}
YLT : They said, therefore, to him, `Where is thy father?` Jesus answered, `Ye have neither known me nor my Father: if me ye had known, my Father also ye had known.`

BNV : মন্দিরের দানের বাক্সের কাছে দাঁড়িয়ে শিক্ষা দেবার সময় যীশু এইসব কথা বললেন৷ কিন্তু কেউ তাঁকে গ্রেপ্তার করল না, কারণ তখনও তাঁর নিরূপিত সময় আসে নি৷
KJV : These words spake Jesus in the treasury, as he taught in the temple: and no man laid hands on him; for his hour was not yet come.
YLT : These sayings spake Jesus in the treasury, teaching in the temple, and no one seized him, because his hour had not yet come;
RV : These words spake he in the treasury, as he taught in the temple: and no man took him; because his hour was not yet come.
RSV : These words he spoke in the treasury, as he taught in the temple; but no one arrested him, because his hour had not yet come.

BNV : তিনি তাদের আর একবার বললেন, ‘আমি যাচ্ছি, আর তোমরা আমার খোঁজ করবে; কিন্তু তোমরা তোমাদের পাপেই মরবে৷ আমি য়েখানে যাচ্ছি তোমরা সেখানে আসতে পারবে না৷’
KJV : Then said Jesus again unto them, {SCJ}I go my way, and ye shall seek me, and shall die in your sins: whither I go, ye cannot come. {SCJ.}
YLT : therefore said Jesus again to them, `I go away, and ye will seek me, and in your sin ye shall die; whither I go away, ye are not able to come.`
RV : He said therefore again unto them, I go away, and ye shall seek me, and shall die in your sin: whither I go, ye cannot come.
RSV : Again he said to them, "I go away, and you will seek me and die in your sin; where I am going, you cannot come."

BNV : তখন ইহুদীরা বলছিল, ‘তিনি কি আত্মহত্যা করতে যাচ্ছেন? কেন তিনি বললেন, ‘আমি য়েখানে যাচ্ছি তোমরা সেখানে আসতে পারবে না?”
KJV : Then said the Jews, Will he kill himself? because he saith, {SCJ}Whither I go, ye cannot come. {SCJ.}
YLT : The Jews, therefore, said, `Will he kill himself, because he saith, Whither I go away, ye are not able to come?`
RV : The Jews therefore said, Will he kill himself, that he saith, Whither I go, ye cannot come?
RSV : Then said the Jews, "Will he kill himself, since he says, `Where I am going, you cannot come'?"
ASV : The Jews therefore said, Will he kill himself, that he saith, Whither I go, ye cannot come?
ESV : So the Jews said, "Will he kill himself, since he says, 'Where I am going, you cannot come'?"
ERVEN : So the Jewish leaders asked themselves, "Will he kill himself? Is that why he said, 'You cannot come where I am going'?"

BNV : যীশু তাদের বললেন, ‘তোমরা এই নিম্নলোকের আর আমি উর্দ্ধলোকের৷ তোমরা এজগতের, আমি এ জগতের নই৷
KJV : And he said unto them, {SCJ}Ye are from beneath; I am from above: ye are of this world; I am not of this world. {SCJ.}
YLT : and he said to them, `Ye are from beneath, I am from above; ye are of this world, I am not of this world;
RV : And he said unto them, Ye are from beneath; I am from above: ye are of this world; I am not of this world.
RSV : He said to them, "You are from below, I am from above; you are of this world, I am not of this world.
ASV : And he said unto them, Ye are from beneath; I am from above: ye are of this world; I am not of this world.
ESV : He said to them, "You are from below; I am from above. You are of this world; I am not of this world.
ERVEN : But Jesus said to them, "You people are from here below, but I am from above. You belong to this world, but I don't belong to this world.

BNV : তাই আমি তোমাদের বলছি, তোমরা তোমাদের পাপেই মরবে৷ তোমরা যদি বিশ্বাস না কর য়ে আমিই তিনি, তবে তোমরা তোমাদের পাপের জন্যই মরবে৷’
KJV : {SCJ}I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am [he,] ye shall die in your sins. {SCJ.}
YLT : I said, therefore, to you, that ye shall die in your sins, for if ye may not believe that I am [he], ye shall die in your sins.`
RV : I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for except ye believe that I am {cf15i he}, ye shall die in your sins.

BNV : তখন তারা জিজ্ঞেস করল, ‘তুমি কে?’যীশু তাদের বললেন, ‘আমি যা, তা তো শুরু থেকেই তোমাদের বলে আসছি৷
KJV : Then said they unto him, Who art thou? And Jesus saith unto them, {SCJ}Even [the same] that I said unto you from the beginning. {SCJ.}
YLT : They said, therefore, to him, `Thou -- who art thou?` and Jesus said to them, `Even what I did speak of to you at the beginning;
RV : They said therefore unto him, Who art thou? Jesus said unto them, Even that which I have also spoken unto you from the beginning.

ERVEN : They asked, "Then who are you?" Jesus answered, "I am what I have told you from the beginning.

BNV : ইহুদীরা তাঁকে বলল, ‘এখন আমরা বুঝেছি য়ে তোমায় ভূতে গ্রাস করেছে৷ অব্রাহাম ও ভাববাদীরা মারা গেছে আর তুমি বলছ, ‘যদি কেউ আমার শিক্ষা অনুসারে চলে, তবে সে মৃত্যুর আস্বাদ পাবে না৷’
KJV : Then said the Jews unto him, Now we know that thou hast a devil. Abraham is dead, and the prophets; and thou sayest, {SCJ}If a man keep my saying, he shall never taste of death. {SCJ.}
