BNV : লেবি পরিবারের একজন পুরুষ লেবি পরিবারেরই এক কন্যাকে বিয়ে করেছিল|
KJV : And there went a man of the house of Levi, and took [to wife] a daughter of Levi.

BNV : সে সন্তানসম্ভবা হল এবং একটা সুন্দর ফুটফুটে পুত্র সন্তানের জন্ম দিল| পুত্র সন্তান দেখতে এত সুন্দর হয়েছিল য়ে তার মা তাকে তিন মাস লুকিয়ে রেখেছিল|
KJV : And the woman conceived, and bare a son: and when she saw him that he [was a] goodly [child,] she hid him three months.
YLT : and the woman conceiveth, and beareth a son, and she seeth him that he [is] fair, and she hideth him three months,

BNV : তিন মাস পরে যখন সে তাকে আর লুকিয়ে রাখতে পারছিল না, তখন সে একটি ঝুড়িতে আলকাতরা মাখালো এবং তাতে শিশুটিকে রেখে নদীর তীরে লম্বা ঘাসবনে রেখে এলো|
KJV : And when she could not longer hide him, she took for him an ark of bulrushes, and daubed it with slime and with pitch, and put the child therein; and she laid [it] in the flags by the river’s brink.
YLT : and she hath not been able any more to hide him, and she taketh for him an ark of rushes, and daubeth it with bitumen and with pitch, and putteth the lad in it, and putteth [it] in the weeds by the edge of the River;

ERVEN : She hid him for as long as she could. After three months she made a basket and covered it with tar so that it would float. Then she put the baby in the basket and put the basket in the river in the tall grass.

BNV : শিশুটির বড় বোন তার ভাইয়ের কি অবস্থা হতে পারে দেখবার জন্য দূরে দাঁড়িয়ে ভাইয়ের ঝুড়ির দিকে লক্ষ্য রাখছিল|

BNV : ঠিক তখনই ফরৌণের মেয়ে নদীতে স্নান করতে এসেছিল| সে দেখতে পেল ঘাসবনে একটি ঝুড়ি ভাসছে| তার সহচরীরা তখন নদী তীরে ঘুরে বেড়াচ্ছিল| তাই সে তার সহচরীদের একজনকে ঝুড়িটা তুলে আনতে বলল|
KJV : And the daughter of Pharaoh came down to wash [herself] at the river; and her maidens walked along by the river’s side; and when she saw the ark among the flags, she sent her maid to fetch it.
YLT : And a daughter of Pharaoh cometh down to bathe at the River, and her damsels are walking by the side of the River, and she seeth the ark in the midst of the weeds, and sendeth her handmaid, and she taketh it,

ERVEN : Just then, Pharaoh's daughter went to the river to bathe. She saw the basket in the tall grass. Her servants were walking beside the river, so she told one of them to go get the basket.

BNV : তারপর রাজকন্যা ঝুড়িটা খুলে দেখল য়ে তাতে রযেছে একটি শিশুপুত্র| শিশুটি তখন কাঁদছিল| আর তা দেখে রাজকন্যার বড় দযা হল| ভাল করে শিশুটিকে লক্ষ্য করার পর সে বুঝতে পারল য়ে শিশুটি হিব্রু|
KJV : And when she had opened [it,] she saw the child: and, behold, the babe wept. And she had compassion on him, and said, This [is one] of the Hebrews’ children.
YLT : and openeth, and seeth him -- the lad, and lo, a child weeping! and she hath pity on him, and saith, `This is [one] of the Hebrews` children.`

ERVEN : The king's daughter opened the basket and saw a baby boy. The baby was crying and she felt sorry for it. Then she noticed that it was one of the Hebrew babies.

BNV : এবার শিশুটির দিদি আড়াল থেকে বেরিয়ে এসে রাজকন্যাকে বলল, “আমি কি আপনাকে সাহায্যের জন্য কোনও হিব্রু যাত্রীকে ডেকে আনব য়ে অন্তত শিশুটিকে দুধ খাওয়াতে পারবে?”
KJV : Then said his sister to Pharaoh’s daughter, Shall I go and call to thee a nurse of the Hebrew women, that she may nurse the child for thee?
YLT : And his sister saith unto the daughter of Pharaoh, `Do I go? when I have called for thee a suckling woman of the Hebrews, then she doth suckle the lad for thee;`
RV : Then said his sister to Pharaoh-s daughter, Shall I go and call thee a nurse of the Hebrew women, that she may nurse the child for thee?
RSV : Then his sister said to Pharaoh's daughter, "Shall I go and call you a nurse from the Hebrew women to nurse the child for you?"

ERVEN : The baby's sister was still hiding. She stood and asked the king's daughter, "Do you want me to go find a Hebrew woman who can nurse the baby and help you care for it?"

BNV : রাজকন্যা বলল, “বেশ যাও|”সুতরাং মেয়েটি গেল এবং শিশুটির মাকে ডেকে আনল|
KJV : And Pharaoh’s daughter said to her, Go. And the maid went and called the child’s mother.
YLT : and the daughter of Pharaoh saith to her, `Go;` and the virgin goeth, and calleth the mother of the lad,

BNV : রাজকন্যা তাকে বলল, “আমার হয়ে তুমি এই শিশুটিকে দুধ পান করাও| এরজন্য আমি তোমাকে টাকা দেব|” তারই মা শিশুটিকে য়ত্ন করে বড় করে তুলতে লাগল|
KJV : And Pharaoh’s daughter said unto her, Take this child away, and nurse it for me, and I will give [thee] thy wages. And the woman took the child, and nursed it.
YLT : and the daughter of Pharaoh saith to her, `Take this lad away, and suckle him for me, and I -- I give thy hire;` and the woman taketh the lad, and suckleth him.
RV : And Pharaoh-s daughter said unto her, Take this child away, and nurse it for me, and I will give thee thy wages. And the woman took the child, and nursed it.

BNV : শিশুটি বড় হয়ে উঠলে মহিলাটি তার সন্তানকে রাজকন্যাকে দিয়ে দিল| রাজকন্যা শিশুটিকে নিজের ছেলের মতোই গ্রহণ করে তার নাম দিল মোশি| শিশুটিকে সে জল থেকে পেয়েছিল বলে তার নামকরণ করা হল মোশি|
KJV : And the child grew, and she brought him unto Pharaoh’s daughter, and he became her son. And she called his name Moses: and she said, Because I drew him out of the water.
YLT : And the lad groweth, and she bringeth him in to the daughter of Pharaoh, and he is to her for a son, and she calleth his name Moses, and saith, `Because -- from the water I have drawn him.`
RV : And the child grew, and she brought him unto Pharaoh-s daughter, and he became her son. And she called his name Moses, and said, Because I drew him out of the water.

ERVEN : The baby grew, and after some time, the woman gave the baby to the king's daughter. The king's daughter accepted the baby as her own son. She named him Moses because she had pulled him from the water.

BNV : একদিন, মোশি বড় হয়ে যাবার পর সে তার নিজের লোকদের দেখবার জন্য বাইরে গেল এবং দেখল তাদের ভীষণ কঠিন কাজ করতে বাধ্য করা হচ্ছে| সে এও দেখল য়ে একজন মিশরীয় একজন হিব্রু ছোকরাকে প্রচণ্ড মারধর করছে|
KJV : And it came to pass in those days, when Moses was grown, that he went out unto his brethren, and looked on their burdens: and he spied an Egyptian smiting an Hebrew, one of his brethren.
YLT : And it cometh to pass, in those days, that Moses is grown, and he goeth out unto his brethren, and looketh on their burdens, and seeth a man, an Egyptian, smiting a man, a Hebrew, [one] of his brethren,
RV : And it came to pass in those days, when Moses was grown up, that he went out unto his brethren, and looked on their burdens: and he saw an Egyptian smiting an Hebrew, one of his brethren.

ERVEN : Moses grew and became a man. He saw that his own people, the Hebrews, were forced to work very hard. One day he saw an Egyptian man beating a Hebrew man.

BNV : মোশি চারিদিকে তাকিয়ে দেখল কেউ ব্যাপারটা লক্ষ্য করছে না| তখন মোশি সেই মিশরীয়কে হত্যা করে তাকে বালিতে পুঁতে দিল|
KJV : And he looked this way and that way, and when he saw that [there was] no man, he slew the Egyptian, and hid him in the sand.
YLT : and he turneth hither and thither, and seeth that there is no man, and smiteth the Egyptian, and hideth him in the sand.
RV : And he looked this way and that way, and when he saw that there was no man, he smote the Egyptian, and hid him in the sand.
RSV : He looked this way and that, and seeing no one he killed the Egyptian and hid him in the sand.

ERVEN : Moses looked around and saw that no one was watching, so he killed the Egyptian and buried him in the sand.

BNV : পরদিন মোশি দেখল দুজন ইস্রায়েলীয় নিজেদের মধ্যে মারামারি করছে| তাদের মধ্যে একজন অন্যাযভাবে আরেকজনকে মারছে| মোশি তখন সেই অন্যাযকারী লোকটির উদ্দেশ্যে বলল, “কেন তুমি তোমার প্রতিবেশীকে মারছো?”
KJV : And when he went out the second day, behold, two men of the Hebrews strove together: and he said to him that did the wrong, Wherefore smitest thou thy fellow?
YLT : And he goeth out on the second day, and lo, two men, Hebrews, striving! and he saith to the wrong-doer, `Why dost thou smite thy neighbour?`
RV : And he went out the second day, and, behold, two men of the Hebrews strove together: and he said to him that did the wrong, Wherefore smitest thou thy fellow?
RSV : When he went out the next day, behold, two Hebrews were struggling together; and he said to the man that did the wrong, "Why do you strike your fellow?"

ERVEN : The next day Moses saw two Hebrew men fighting each other. He saw that one man was wrong and said to him, "Why are you hurting your neighbor?"

BNV : লোকটি উত্তরে জানাল, “তোমাকে কে আমাদের শাস্তি দিতে পাঠিয়েছে? বলো, তুমি কি আমাকে মারতে এসেছ য়েমনভাবে তুমি গতকাল ঐ মিশরীয়কে হত্যা করেছিলে?”তখন মোশি ভয় পেয়ে মনে মনে বলল, “তাহলে এখন ব্যাপারটা সবাই জেনে গেছে|”
KJV : And he said, Who made thee a prince and a judge over us? intendest thou to kill me, as thou killedst the Egyptian? And Moses feared, and said, Surely this thing is known.
YLT : and he saith, `Who set thee for a head and a judge over us? to slay me art thou saying [it], as thou hast slain the Egyptian?` and Moses feareth, and saith, `Surely the thing hath been known.`
RV : And he said, Who made thee a prince and a judge over us? thinkest thou to kill me, as thou killedst the Egyptian? And Moses feared, and said, Surely the thing is known.
RSV : He answered, "Who made you a prince and a judge over us? Do you mean to kill me as you killed the Egyptian?" Then Moses was afraid, and thought, "Surely the thing is known."
ASV : And he said, Who made thee a prince and a judge over us? Thinkest thou to kill me, as thou killedst the Egyptian? And Moses feared, and said, Surely the thing is known.
ESV : He answered, "Who made you a prince and a judge over us? Do you mean to kill me as you killed the Egyptian?" Then Moses was afraid, and thought, "Surely the thing is known."
ERVEN : The man answered, "Did anyone say you could be our ruler and judge? Tell me, will you kill me as you killed the Egyptian yesterday?" Then Moses was afraid. He thought to himself, "Now everyone knows what I did."

BNV : একদিন রাজা ফরৌণ মোশির কীর্তি জানতে পারলেন; তিনি তাকে হত্যা করতে চাইলেন| কিন্তু মোশি মিদিযন দেশে পালিয়ে গেল|মিদিয়নে এসে একটি কুয়োর সামনে মোশি বসে পড়ল|
KJV : Now when Pharaoh heard this thing, he sought to slay Moses. But Moses fled from the face of Pharaoh, and dwelt in the land of Midian: and he sat down by a well.
YLT : And Pharaoh heareth of this thing, and seeketh to slay Moses, and Moses fleeth from the face of Pharaoh, and dwelleth in the land of Midian, and dwelleth by the well.
RV : Now when Pharaoh heard this thing, he sought to slay Moses. But Moses fled from the face of Pharaoh, and dwelt in the land of Midian: and he sat down by a well.

ERVEN : Pharaoh heard about what Moses did, so he decided to kill him. But Moses ran away from Pharaoh and went to the land of Midian. Moses stopped near a well in Midian.

BNV : সেখানে এক যাজক ছিল| তার ছিল সাতটি মেয়ে| কুযো থেকে জল তুলে পিতার পোষা মেষপালকে জল খাওয়ানোর জন্য সেই সাতটি মেয়ে কুযোর কাছে এল| তারা মেষদের জল পানের পাত্রটি ভর্তি করার চেষ্টা করছিল|

BNV : কিন্তু কিছু মেষপালক এসেছিল এবং তরুণীদের তাড়িয়ে দিয়েছিল| তাই মোশি তাদের সাহায্য করতে এলো এবং তাদের পশুর পালকে জল পান করালো|
KJV : And the shepherds came and drove them away: but Moses stood up and helped them, and watered their flock.

KJV : And when they came to Reuel their father, he said, How [is it that] ye are come so soon to day?
YLT : And they come in to Reuel their father, and he saith, `Wherefore have ye hastened to come in to-day?`
RV : And when they came to Reuel their father, he said, How is it that ye are come so soon today?
RSV : When they came to their father Reuel, he said, "How is it that you have come so soon today?"

ERVEN : Then they went back to their father, Reuel. He asked them, "Why have you come home early today?"

BNV : তরুণীরা উত্তর দিল, “হ্যাঁ, ওখানে কুযো থেকে জল তোলার সময় কিছু মেষপালক আমাদের তাড়িয়ে দিল| কিন্তু একজন অচেনা মিশরীয় এলো এবং আমাদের সাহায্য করল| সে আমাদের জন্য জলও তুলে দিল এবং আমাদের মেষের পালকে জল পান করালো|”
KJV : And they said, An Egyptian delivered us out of the hand of the shepherds, and also drew [water] enough for us, and watered the flock.
YLT : and they say, `A man, an Egyptian, hath delivered us out of the hand of the shepherds, and also hath diligently drawn for us, and watereth the flock;`
RV : And they said, An Egyptian delivered us out of the hand of the shepherds, and moreover he drew water for us, and watered the flock.

BNV : মোশি রূযেলের সঙ্গে থাকবার জন্য খুশীর সঙ্গে রাজী হল| রূযেল তার মেয়ে সিপ্পোরার সঙ্গে মোশির বিয়ে দিল|
KJV : And Moses was content to dwell with the man: and he gave Moses Zipporah his daughter.

KJV : And she bare [him] a son, and he called his name Gershom: for he said, I have been a stranger in a strange land.
YLT : and she beareth a son, and he calleth his name Gershom, for he said, `A sojourner I have been in a strange land.`

ERVEN : Zipporah became pregnant and had a son. Moses named him Gershom because Moses was a stranger in a land that was not his own.

BNV : দেখতে দেখতে অনেক বছর পেরিযে গেল| মিশরের রাজাও ইতিমধ্যেই মারা গিয়েছেন| কিন্তু ইস্রায়েলীয়দের তখনও জোর করে কাজ করানো হচ্ছিল| তারা সাহায্যের জন্য কান্নাকাটি শুরু করল| এবং সেই কান্না বয়ং ঈশ্বর শুনতে পাচ্ছিলেন|
KJV : And it came to pass in process of time, that the king of Egypt died: and the children of Israel sighed by reason of the bondage, and they cried, and their cry came up unto God by reason of the bondage.
YLT : And it cometh to pass during these many days, that the king of Egypt dieth, and the sons of Israel sigh because of the service, and cry, and their cry goeth up unto God, because of the service;

ESV : During those many days the king of Egypt died, and the people of Israel groaned because of their slavery and cried out for help. Their cry for rescue from slavery came up to God.
ERVEN : A long time passed and that king of Egypt died. But the Israelites were still forced to work very hard. They cried for help, and God heard them.
