BNV : মোশির শ্বশুর যিথ্রো ছিল মিদিয়নীয়র যাজক| ঈশ্বর য়ে একাধিকভাবে মোশিকে এবং ইস্রায়েলের লোকদের সাহায্য করেছেন তা সে শুনেছিল| য়িথ্রো শুনেছিল য়ে প্রভু ইস্রায়েলীয়দের মিশর থেকে বের করে এনেছেন|
KJV : When Jethro, the priest of Midian, Moses’ father in law, heard of all that God had done for Moses, and for Israel his people, [and] that the LORD had brought Israel out of Egypt;
YLT : And Jethro priest of Midian, father-in-law of Moses, heareth all that God hath done for Moses, and for Israel his people, that Jehovah hath brought out Israel from Egypt,
RV : Now Jethro, the priest of Midian, Moses- father in law, heard of all that God had done for Moses, and for Israel his people, how that the LORD had brought Israel out of Egypt.

ERVEN : Jethro, Moses' father-in-law, was a priest in Midian. He heard about the many ways that God helped Moses and the Israelites. He heard about the Lord leading the Israelites out of Egypt.

BNV : তাই য়িথ্রো মোশির স্ত্রী সিপ্পোরাকে নিল এবং মোশির সঙ্গে দেখা করতে গেল| মোশি তখন ঈশ্বরের পর্বতের কাছে শিবির করে রযেছে| মোশির স্ত্রী সিপপোরা তখন বাপের বাড়ীতে থাকত কারণ মোশিই তার স্ত্রীকে বাপের বাড়ী পাঠিয়ে দিয়েছিল|
KJV : Then Jethro, Moses’ father in law, took Zipporah, Moses’ wife, after he had sent her back,
YLT : and Jethro, father-in-law of Moses, taketh Zipporah, wife of Moses, besides her parents,
RV : And Jethro, Moses- father in law, took Zipporah, Moses- wife, after he had sent her away,

ERVEN : So Jethro went to Moses while Moses was camped near the mountain of God. Jethro brought Moses' wife, Zipporah, with him. (Zipporah was not with Moses, because Moses had sent her home.)

BNV : যিথ্রো তার সঙ্গে শুধু মোশির স্ত্রীকেই নয়, মোশির দুই পুত্রকেও নিয়ে গিয়েছিল| প্রথম পুত্রের নাম গের্শোন কারণ সে যখন জন্মায় তখন মোশি বলেছিল, “আমি পরদেশে প্রবাসী|”
KJV : And her two sons; of which the name of the one [was] Gershom; for he said, I have been an alien in a strange land:
YLT : and her two sons, of whom the name of the one [is] Gershom, for he said, `a sojourner I have been in a strange land:`

ERVEN : Jethro also brought Moses' two sons with him. The first son was named Gershom, because when he was born, Moses said, "I am a stranger in a foreign country."

BNV : দ্বিতীয পুত্রের নাম ইলীয়েষর| নামকরণের কারণ হিসেবে দ্বিতীয় পুত্রের জন্মের সময় মোশি বলেছিল, “আমার পিতার ঈশ্বর, আমাকে সাহায্য করেছেন এবং ফরৌণের তরবারি থেকে রক্ষা করেছেন|”
KJV : And the name of the other [was] Eliezer; for the God of my father, [said he, was] mine help, and delivered me from the sword of Pharaoh:
YLT : and the name of the other [is] Eliezer, for, `the God of my father [is] for my help, and doth deliver me from the sword of Pharaoh.`

BNV : য়িথ্রো মোশির স্ত্রী ও দুই পুত্রকে নিয়ে মোশির শিবিরে পৌঁছালো| মোশি তখন ঈশ্বরের পর্বতের কাছে মরুভূমিতে শিবিরে ছিল|
KJV : And Jethro, Moses’ father in law, came with his sons and his wife unto Moses into the wilderness, where he encamped at the mount of God:
YLT : And Jethro, father-in-law of Moses, cometh, and his sons, and his wife, unto Moses, unto the wilderness where he is encamping -- the mount of God;

BNV : যিথ্রো মোশির উদ্দেশ্যে একটি বার্তায় বলে পাঠাল, “আমি তোমার শ্বশুর যিথ্রো| আমি তোমার স্ত্রী ও দুই পুত্রকে সঙ্গে করে নিয়ে এসেছি|”
KJV : And he said unto Moses, I thy father in law Jethro am come unto thee, and thy wife, and her two sons with her.
YLT : and he saith unto Moses, `I, thy father-in-law, Jethro, am coming unto thee, and thy wife, and her two sons with her.`
RV : and he said unto Moses, I thy father in law Jethro am come unto thee, and thy wife, and her two sons with her.

ERVEN : Jethro sent a message to Moses that said, "This is your father-in-law Jethro. I am bringing your wife and her two sons to you."

BNV : তখন মোশি তাঁবু থেকে বেরিয়ে এসে শ্বশুরকে হাঁটু গেড়ে প্রণাম ও চুম্বন করল| দুজনে দুজনের শরীর ও স্বাস্থ্যের খোঁজ খবর নিয়ে মোশির তাঁবুতে প্রবেশ করল|
KJV : And Moses went out to meet his father in law, and did obeisance, and kissed him; and they asked each other of [their] welfare; and they came into the tent.
YLT : And Moses goeth out to meet his father-in-law, and boweth himself, and kisseth him, and they ask one at another of welfare, and come into the tent;
RV : And Moses went out to meet his father in law, and did obeisance, and kissed him; and they asked each other of their welfare; and they came into the tent.

ERVEN : So Moses went out to meet his father-inlaw. Moses bowed down before him and kissed him. The two men asked about each other's health. Then they went into Moses' tent to talk more.

BNV : ইস্রায়েলের লোকদের জন্য প্রভু যা যা করেছেন মোশি তা বিস্তারিতভাবে যিথ্রোকে বলল| মোশি জানাল, প্রভু ফরৌণ ও মিশরের লোকদের কি অবস্থা করেছেন| যাত্রাপথে য়ে সমস্ত সমস্যার সম্মুখীন হতে হয়েছিল সে সমস্ত সমস্যার কথাও সে বলল| প্রত্যেকটি সমস্যার ক্ষেত্রে প্রভু কিভাবে ইস্রায়েলের লোকদের রক্ষা করেছেন তাও সে শ্বশুরকে খুলে বলল|
KJV : And Moses told his father in law all that the LORD had done unto Pharaoh and to the Egyptians for Israel’s sake, [and] all the travail that had come upon them by the way, and [how] the LORD delivered them.
YLT : and Moses recounteth to his father-in-law all that Jehovah hath done to Pharaoh, and to the Egyptians, on account of Israel, all the travail which hath found them in the way, and Jehovah doth deliver them.
RV : And Moses told his father in law all that the LORD had done unto Pharaoh and to the Egyptians for Israel-s sake, all the travail that had come upon them by the way, and how the LORD delivered them.

ERVEN : Moses told Jethro everything the Lord had done for the Israelites. He told what the Lord did to Pharaoh and the people of Egypt. He told about all the problems they had along the way. And he told his father-in-law how the Lord saved the Israelites every time there was trouble.

BNV : মিশরীয়দের হাত থেকে ইস্রায়েলীয়দের উদ্ধার করবার সময় প্রভু তাদের জন্য য়ে সমস্ত ভাল কাজগুলি করেছিলেন সে সম্বন্ধে শুনে য়িথ্রো খুশী হল|
KJV : And Jethro rejoiced for all the goodness which the LORD had done to Israel, whom he had delivered out of the hand of the Egyptians.
YLT : And Jethro rejoiceth for all the good which Jehovah hath done to Israel, whom He hath delivered from the hand of the Egyptians;
RV : And Jethro rejoiced for all the goodness which the LORD had done to Israel, in that he had delivered them out of the hand of the Egyptians.

ERVEN : Jethro was happy when he heard all the good things the Lord had done for Israel. He was glad that the Lord had freed the Israelites from the Egyptians.

BNV : য়িথ্রো বলল,“প্রভুর প্রশংসা করো! তিনিই তোমাদের মিশরীয়দের কবল থেকে মুক্ত করেছেন| ফরৌণের হাত থেকেও প্রভু তোমাদের রক্ষা করেছেন|
KJV : And Jethro said, Blessed [be] the LORD, who hath delivered you out of the hand of the Egyptians, and out of the hand of Pharaoh, who hath delivered the people from under the hand of the Egyptians.
YLT : and Jethro saith, `Blessed [is] Jehovah, who hath delivered you from the hand of the Egyptians, and from the hand of Pharaoh -- who hath delivered this people from under the hand of the Egyptians;
RV : And Jethro said, Blessed be the LORD, who hath delivered you out of the hand of the Egyptians, and out of the hand of Pharaoh; who hath delivered the people from under the hand of the Egyptians.

ERVEN : He said, "Praise the Lord! He freed you from the power of Egypt. He saved you from Pharaoh.

BNV : এখন আমি জানি সকল দেবতার থেকে প্রভুই মহান! তারা ভাবত তারাই একমাত্র ক্ষমতার অধিকারী কিন্তু দেখ ঈশ্বর কি করে দেখালেন!”
KJV : Now I know that the LORD [is] greater than all gods: for in the thing wherein they dealt proudly [he was] above them.
YLT : now I have known that Jehovah [is] greater than all the gods, for in the thing they have acted proudly -- [He is] above them!`
RV : Now I know that the LORD is greater than all gods: yea, in the thing wherein they dealt proudly against them.
RSV : Now I know that the LORD is greater than all gods, because he delivered the people from under the hand of the Egyptians, when they dealt arrogantly with them."

BNV : মোশির শ্বশুর যিথ্রো ঈশ্বরের প্রতি সম্মানার্থে নৈবেদ্য ও বলি দিল| তখন হারোণ ও ইস্রায়েলের অন্যান্য প্রবীণ নেতারা এসে ঈশ্বরের সামনে মোশি ও য়িথ্রোর সঙ্গে একসঙ্গে আহার করল|
KJV : And Jethro, Moses’ father in law, took a burnt offering and sacrifices for God: and Aaron came, and all the elders of Israel, to eat bread with Moses’ father in law before God.
YLT : And Jethro, father-in-law of Moses, taketh a burnt-offering and sacrifices for God; and Aaron cometh in, and all the elders of Israel, to eat bread with the father-in-law of Moses, before God.
RV : And Jethro, Moses- father in law, took a burnt offering and sacrifices for God: and Aaron came, and all the elders of Israel, to eat bread with Moses- father in law before God.
RSV : And Jethro, Moses' father-in-law, offered a burnt offering and sacrifices to God; and Aaron came with all the elders of Israel to eat bread with Moses' father-in-law before God.

ERVEN : Jethro got some sacrifices and offerings to honor God. Then Aaron and all the elders of Israel came to eat with Moses' father-in-law Jethro. They all ate together there with God.

BNV : পরদিন মোশি লোকদের বিচার করতে বসল| বিচার সভায় এত লোক হয়েছিল য়ে সবাইকে সকাল থেকে সন্ধ্যা পর্য়ন্ত দাঁড়িয়ে থাকতে হল|
KJV : And it came to pass on the morrow, that Moses sat to judge the people: and the people stood by Moses from the morning unto the evening.
YLT : And it cometh to pass on the morrow, that Moses sitteth to judge the people, and the people stand before Moses, from the morning unto the evening;
RV : And it came to pass on the morrow, that Moses sat to judge the people: and the people stood about Moses from the morning unto the evening.
RSV : On the morrow Moses sat to judge the people, and the people stood about Moses from morning till evening.
ASV : And it came to pass on the morrow, that Moses sat to judge the people: and the people stood about Moses from the morning unto the evening.
ESV : The next day Moses sat to judge the people, and the people stood around Moses from morning till evening.
ERVEN : The next day, Moses had the special job of judging the people. There were so many people that they had to stand before him all day.

BNV : মোশিকে লোকদের বিচার করতে দেখে য়িথ্রো তাকে জিজ্ঞেস করল, “তুমি কেন একা বিচারকের দায়িত্ব পালন করছো? এবং সবাই সারাদিন ধরে কেনই বা শুধু তোমার কাছেই আসছে?”
KJV : And when Moses’ father in law saw all that he did to the people, he said, What [is] this thing that thou doest to the people? why sittest thou thyself alone, and all the people stand by thee from morning unto even?
YLT : and the father-in-law of Moses seeth all that he is doing to the people, and saith, `What [is] this thing which thou art doing to the people? wherefore art thou sitting by thyself, and all the people standing by thee from morning till evening?`
RV : And when Moses- father in law saw all that he did to the people, he said, What is this thing that thou doest to the people? why sittest thou thyself alone, and all the people stand about thee from morning unto even?
RSV : When Moses' father-in-law saw all that he was doing for the people, he said, "What is this that you are doing for the people? Why do you sit alone, and all the people stand about you from morning till evening?"
ASV : And when Moses father-in-law saw all that he did to the people, he said, What is this thing that thou doest to the people? why sittest thou thyself alone, and all the people stand about thee from morning unto even?
ESV : When Moses' father-in-law saw all that he was doing for the people, he said, "What is this that you are doing for the people? Why do you sit alone, and all the people stand around you from morning till evening?"
ERVEN : Jethro saw Moses judging the people. He asked, "Why are you doing this? Why are you the only judge? And why do people come to you all day?"

BNV : তখন মোশি তার শ্বশুরকে বলল, “লোকরা আমার কাছে ঈশ্বরের সিদ্ধান্ত জানতে আসে|
KJV : And Moses said unto his father in law, Because the people come unto me to enquire of God:
YLT : And Moses saith to his father-in-law, `Because the people come unto me to seek God;
RV : And Moses said unto his father in law, Because the people come unto me to inquire of God:
RSV : And Moses said to his father-in-law, "Because the people come to me to inquire of God;
ASV : And Moses said unto his father-in-law, Because the people come unto me to inquire of God:
ESV : And Moses said to his father-in-law, "Because the people come to me to inquire of God;
ERVEN : Then Moses said to his father-in-law, "The people come to me and ask me to ask for God's decision for their problem.

BNV : যখন মানুষদের মধ্যে কোন বিবাদ তৈরী হয় তখন তারা আমার কাছে আসে| আমিই ঠিক করে দিই কে সঠিক আর কে বেঠিক| এই উপায়ে আমি মানুষের মধ্যে ঈশ্বরের বিধি ও শিক্ষাকে ছড়িয়ে দিই|”
KJV : When they have a matter, they come unto me; and I judge between one and another, and I do make [them] know the statutes of God, and his laws.
YLT : when they have a matter, it hath come unto me, and I have judged between a man and his neighbour, and made known the statutes of God, and His laws.`
RV : when they have a matter, they come unto me; and I judge between a man and his neighbour, and I make them know the statutes of God, and his laws.
RSV : when they have a dispute, they come to me and I decide between a man and his neighbor, and I make them know the statutes of God and his decisions."

ERVEN : If people have an argument, they come to me, and I decide which person is right. In this way I teach the people God's laws and teachings."

BNV : কিন্তু মোশির শ্বশুর তাকে বলল, “এটাই ঐ কাজের সঠিক উপায় নয়|
KJV : And Moses’ father in law said unto him, The thing that thou doest [is] not good.
YLT : And the father-in-law of Moses saith unto him, `The thing which thou art doing [is] not good;
RV : And Moses- father in law said unto him, The thing that thou doest is not good.
RSV : Moses' father-in-law said to him, "What you are doing is not good.
ASV : And Moses father-in-law said unto him, The thing that thou doest is not good.
ESV : Moses' father-in-law said to him, "What you are doing is not good.
ERVEN : But Moses' father-in-law said to him, "This isn't the right way to do this.

BNV : এটা তোমার একার কাজ নয়| তুমি একা এই কাজ করতে পারবে না| এভাবে তুমিও উদ্যম হারাবে এবং লোকরাও ক্লান্ত হয়ে পড়বে!
KJV : Thou wilt surely wear away, both thou, and this people that [is] with thee: for this thing [is] too heavy for thee; thou art not able to perform it thyself alone.
YLT : thou dost surely wear away, both thou, and this people which [is] with thee, for the thing is too heavy for thee, thou art not able to do it by thyself.
RV : Thou wilt surely wear away, both thou, and this people that is with thee: for the thing is too heavy for thee; thou art not able to perform it thyself alone.
RSV : You and the people with you will wear yourselves out, for the thing is too heavy for you; you are not able to perform it alone.

ERVEN : It is too much work for you to do alone. You cannot do this job by yourself. It wears you out. And it makes the people tired too.

BNV : এখন মন দিয়ে আমার কথা শোন| আমার কিছু উপদেশ গ্রহণ করো| এবং আমি প্রার্থনা করি ঈশ্বর য়েন সর্বদা তোমার সঙ্গে থাকেন| তুমি সর্বদা লোকদের সমস্যা শুনে যাবে এবং সেগুলো নিয়ে তুমি সর্বদা ঈশ্বরের কাছে বলবে|
KJV : Hearken now unto my voice, I will give thee counsel, and God shall be with thee: Be thou for the people to God-ward, that thou mayest bring the causes unto God:
YLT : `Now, hearken to my voice, I counsel thee, and God is with thee: be thou for the people over-against God, and thou hast brought in the things unto God;
RV : Hearken now unto my voice, I will give thee counsel, and God be with thee: be thou for the people to God-ward, and bring thou the causes unto God:
RSV : Listen now to my voice; I will give you counsel, and God be with you! You shall represent the people before God, and bring their cases to God;

ESV : Now obey my voice; I will give you advice, and God be with you! You shall represent the people before God and bring their cases to God,
ERVEN : Now, listen to me. Let me give you some advice. And I pray God will be with you. You should continue listening to the problems of the people. And you should continue to speak to God about these things.

BNV : তুমি ঈশ্বরের বিধি ও শিক্ষামালাকে লোকদের মধ্যে জাগিয়ে তুলবে| তাদের বলবে তারা য়েন ঈশ্বর প্রদত্ত বিধিকে না ভাঙ্গে| তাদের বলবে সঠিক পথে চলতে| তাদের কি করা উচিত্‌ তাও বলে দেবে|
KJV : And thou shalt teach them ordinances and laws, and shalt shew them the way wherein they must walk, and the work that they must do.
YLT : and thou hast warned them [concerning] the statutes and the laws, and hast made known to them the way in which they go, and the work which they do.
RV : and thou shalt teach them the statutes and the laws, and shalt shew them the way wherein they must walk, and the work that they must do.

ERVEN : You should explain God's laws and teachings to the people. Warn them not to break the laws. Tell them the right way to live and what they should do.

BNV : এবার ঐ লোকেদের শাসনের ভার এই শাসকদের হাতে ছেড়ে দাও| যদি কোনও গুরুত্বপূর্ণ মামলা থাকে তাহলে সেই শাসকরা সিদ্ধান্ত গ্রহণের জন্য তোমার কাছে আসবে| কিন্তু সাধারণ মামলার সিদ্ধান্তগুলি অবশ্য তারা নিজেরাই করে নেবে| এইভাবে তোমার বেশ কিছু কাজের ভার তারা বহন করবে এবং তার ফলে লোকদের নেতৃত্ব দিতে তোমারও সুবিধা হবে|
