যিরমিয়, তোমাকে যিহূদার লোকরা জিজ্ঞাসা করবে, ‘কেন প্রভু তোমার ঈশ্বর আমাদের প্রতি এমন খারাপ ব্যবহার করলেন?’ তখন তুমি (যিরমিয়) তাদের উত্তর দেবে: ‘তোমরা প্রভুর দিক থেকে মুখ ফিরিয়ে নিয়েছ, তোমাদের দেশে বিদেশী মূর্ত্তিসমূহ বানিয়েছ এবং তাদের সেবা করেছ| সুতরাং তোমরা এখন বিদেশে বিদেশীদের সেবা করবে|”‘

And it shall come to pass, when ye shall say, Wherefore doeth the LORD our God all these [things] unto us? then shalt thou answer them, Like as ye have forsaken me, and served strange gods in your land, so shall ye serve strangers in a land [that is] not yours.
