ਜਿਹੜਾ ਅਜਿਹੀ ਭੇਟ ਦੇਣ ਲਈ ਗਰੀਬ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਅਜਿਹੀ ਲੱਕੜੀ ਚੁਣ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਹੜੀ ਗਲਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਨਹੀਂ, ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਲਈ ਕੋਈ ਚਤਰ ਕਾਰੀਗਰ ਭਾਲਦਾ ਹੈ, ਭਈ ਉਹ ਇੱਕ ਅਜਿਹੀ ਮੂਰਤ ਕਾਇਮ ਕਰੇ, ਜਿਹੜੀ ਹਿੱਲੇ ਨਾ।।

He that [is] so impoverished that he hath no oblation chooseth a tree [that] will not rot; he seeketh unto him a cunning workman to prepare a graven image, [that] shall not be moved.
