ঊরিয দায়ূদকে বলল, “পবিত্র সিন্দুকটি এবং ইস্রাযেল ও যিহূদার সৈন্যরা তাঁবুগুলিতে রযেছে| আমার মনিব য়োয়াব এবং আমার মনিবের (রাজা দায়ূদ) আধিকারিকরা শিবির গেড়ে মাঠে তাঁবু ফেলেছেন| সুতরাং আমার পক্ষে বাড়ী গিয়ে পান আহার করে স্ত্রীর সঙ্গে শয়ন করা ঠিক নয়|”

And Uriah said unto David, The ark, and Israel, and Judah, abide in tents; and my lord Joab, and the servants of my lord, are encamped in the open fields; shall I then go into mine house, to eat and to drink, and to lie with my wife? [as] thou livest, and [as] thy soul liveth, I will not do this thing.
