ಅರಾಮ್ಯರ ಸೈನ್ಯವು ಸ್ವಲ್ಪ ಮಂದಿಯಿಂದ ಕೂಡಿದ್ದರೂ ಯೆಹೂದದ ದೊಡ್ಡ ಸೈನ್ಯವನ್ನು ಸೋಲಿಸಿಬಿಟ್ಟಿತು. ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರು ತಮ್ಮ ಪೂರ್ವಿಕರ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವನನ್ನು ತೊರೆದುದರಿಂದ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವನು ಹಾಗೆ ಮಾಡಿದನು. ಈ ರೀತಿಯಾಗಿ ಯೆಹೋವಾಷನು ಶಿಕ್ಷಿಸಲ್ಪಟ್ಟನು.

ଅରାମୀଯ ସୈନ୍ଯଦଳ ନିଜ ସହିତ ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କର ଏକ କ୍ଷୁଦ୍ରଦଳକୁ ନଇେ ଆସିଥିଲେ କିନ୍ତୁ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ସମାନଙ୍କେୁ ଯିହୁଦାର ବୃହତ୍ ସୈନ୍ଯଦଳ ଉପରେ ବିଜଯଲାଭ କରିବାକୁ ଦେଲେ। ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ଏହିପରି କଲେ, କାରଣ ଯିହୁଦାର ଲୋକମାନେ ସମାନଙ୍କେ ପୂର୍ବପୁରୁଷମାନେ ଯେଉଁ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ପରମେଶ୍ବରଙ୍କର ଅନୁଗାମୀ ହାଇେଥିଲେ, ସମାନେେ ତାଙ୍କୁ ପରିତ୍ଯାଗ କରିଥିଲେ। ତେଣୁ ଯୋୟାଶ୍ ଦଣ୍ଡିତ ହେଲେ।
