এখন গোটা পরিবার আমার বিরুদ্ধে| তারা আমাকে বলল, ‘সেই পুত্রকে নিয়ে এসো যে তার ভাইকে মেরেছে - আমরাও তাকে মেরে ফেলবো| কেন? কারণ সে তার ভাইকে হত্যা করেছে|’ আমার আগুনের শেষ স্ফুলিঙ্গের মত যদি ওরা আমার পুত্রকে মেরে ফেলে তাহলে সেই আগুন জ্বলে শেষ হয়ে যাবে| সেই একমাত্র জীবিত সন্তান যে তার পিতার সম্পত্তির উত্তরাধিকারী হবে| অন্যথায়, আমার স্বামীর সম্পত্তি ভুল হাতে পড়বে এবং তার নাম সেই জমি থেকে মুছে যাবে|”

And, behold, the whole family is risen against thine handmaid, and they said, Deliver him that smote his brother, that we may kill him, for the life of his brother whom he slew; and we will destroy the heir also: and so they shall quench my coal which is left, and shall not leave to my husband [neither] name nor remainder upon the earth.

and lo, the whole family hath risen against thy maid-servant, and say, Give up him who smiteth his brother, and we put him to death for the life of his brother whom he hath slain, and we destroy also the heir; and they have quenched my coal which is left -- so as not to set to my husband a name and remnant on the face of the ground.`

So my dead husband's property will go to someone else and his name will be removed from the land."
