ಅರಸನು ತನ್ನ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಂತಿರುವ ಕಾಲಾಳಿಗೆನೀವು ತಿರುಗಿಕೊಂಡು ಕರ್ತನ ಯಾಜಕರನ್ನು ಕೊಂದು ಹಾಕಿರಿ. ಅವರ ಕೈ ದಾವೀದನ ಸಂಗಡ ಸಹಾಯ ವಾಗಿದೆ. ಅವನು ಓಡಿಹೋಗುವದನ್ನು ಅವರು ತಿಳಿದಿದ್ದು ಅದನ್ನು ನನಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸದೆ ಹೋದರು ಅಂದನು. ಆದರೆ ಅರಸನ ಸೇವಕರು ಕರ್ತನ ಯಾಜಕರ ಮೇಲೆ ಬೀಳಲು ತಮ್ಮ ಕೈಯನ್ನು ಚಾಚಲೊಲ್ಲದೆ ಹೋದರು.

ನಂತರ ರಾಜನು ತನ್ನ ಸಿಪಾಯಿಗಳಿಗೆ, “ನೀವು ಹೋಗಿ ಯೆಹೋವನ ಯಾಜಕರನ್ನು ಕೊಂದುಹಾಕಿ. ಅವರು ದಾವೀದನ ಪಕ್ಷ ವಹಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ದಾವೀದನು ಓಡಿ ಹೋಗುತ್ತಿರುವುದು ತಿಳಿದಿದ್ದರೂ ಅವರು ನನಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸಲಿಲ್ಲ!” ಎಂದನು. ಆದರೆ ಯೆಹೋವನ ಯಾಜಕರನ್ನು ಕೊಲ್ಲಲು ಸೈನಿಕರು ನಿರಾಕರಿಸಿದರು.
