“సెరూయా కుమారుడైన యోవాబు నాకు ఏమి చేసినదీ నీవు గుర్తు పెట్టుకోవాలి కూడ. ఇశ్రాయేలు సైన్యాల ఇద్దరు అధిపతులను అతడు చంపాడు. నేరు కుమారుడైన అబ్నేరును, యెతెరు కుమారుడైన అమాశాను అతడు చంపాడు. అతడు వారిని శాంతి నెలకొన్న రోజులలో చంపిన విషయం నీవు గుర్తుంచు కోవాలి. వారు యుద్ధ సమయంలో ప్రజలను చంపారనే కోపంతో అతడా పని చేశాడు. కాని చంపబడిన ఆ ఇద్దరు సేనాధిపతులు అమాయకులు. కావున నేనతనిని శిక్షించాలి.

दावीद पुढे म्हणाला, “सरुवेचा मुलगा यवाब याने काय केले ते लक्षात आहे ना? त्याने इस्राएल सैन्याच्या दोन सेनापतींना, नेराचा मुलगा अबनेर आणि येथेरचा मुलगा अमासा यांना ठार केले आणि मुख्य म्हणजे हे शांततेच्या काळात केले. त्याचा तलवार खोचायचा कमरबंद आणि पायातले सैनिकी जोडे यांवर त्यांचे रक्त शिंपडले आहे. त्याला मीच शासन करायला हवे होते.
