கர்த்தர் எலியாவிடம், "எனக்கு முன்னால் மலையின் மேல் நில் அப்பொழுது நான் உன்னை கடந்து செல்வேன்" என்றார். பிறகு ஒரு பலமான காற்று அடித்தது. அது மலைகளை உடைப்பதுபோல் இருந்தது. ஆனால் அது கர்த்தர் அல்ல! பிறகு நில அதிர்ச்சி உண்டாயிற்று. அதுவும் கர்த்தர் அல்ல!

అందుకాయననీవు పోయి పర్వతముమీద యెహోవా సముఖమందు నిలిచి యుండుమని సెలవిచ్చెను. అంతట యెహోవా ఆ వైపున సంచరింపగా బలమైన పెనుగాలి లేచెను, యెహోవా భయమునకు పర్వతములు బద్దలాయెను; శిలలు ఛిన్నా భిన్నములాయెను గాని యెహోవా ఆ గాలి దెబ్బయందు ప్రత్యక్షము కాలేదు. గాలి పోయిన తరువాత భూకంపము కలిగెను గాని ఆ భూకంపమునందు యెహోవా ప్రత్యక్షము కాలేదు.

అందుకు యెహోవా ఏలీయాతో: “నీవు వెళ్లి పర్వతం మీద నా ముందు నిలబడు. నేను నీ పక్కగా వెళతాను” అని అన్నాడు. యెహోవా అలా చేయగా, ఒక పెనుగాలి వీచింది. ఆ గాలి కొండలను రెండుగా చీల్చివేసింది. యెహోవా ముందు ఆ గాలి పెద్దగుట్టలను పిండి చేసింది. కాని ఆ పెనుగాలి యెహోవా మాత్రం కాదు! గాలి తగ్గిన పిమ్మట ఒక భూకంపం వచ్చింది. ఆ భూకంపం కూడా యెహోవా కాదు.

ಆಗ ಆತನು--ನೀನು ಹೊರಗೆ ಬಂದು ಬೆಟ್ಟದ ಮೇಲೆ ಕರ್ತನ ಮುಂದೆ ನಿಲ್ಲು ಅಂದನು. ಇಗೋ, ಕರ್ತನು ಹಾದುಹೋದನು; ಕರ್ತನ ಮುಂದೆ ಬೆಟ್ಟಗಳನ್ನು ಭೇದಿಸುವಂಥ, ಗುಡ್ಡ ಗಳನ್ನು ಒಡೆಯುವಂಥ ಮಹಾ ಬಲವಾದ ಗಾಳಿ; ಆ ಗಾಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕರ್ತನು ಇರಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಗಾಳಿಯ ತರು ವಾಯ ಭೂಕಂಪವು; ಆ ಭೂಕಂಪದಲ್ಲಿ ಕರ್ತನು ಇರಲಿಲ್ಲ.

ಆಗ ಯೆಹೋವನು ಎಲೀಯನಿಗೆ, “ಹೋಗು, ನನ್ನ ಎದುರಿಗೆ ಬೆಟ್ಟದ ಮೇಲೆ ನಿಲ್ಲು. ನಾನು ನಿನ್ನ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹಾದು ಹೋಗುತ್ತೇನೆ” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು. ಆಗ ಬಿರುಗಾಳಿಯು ಬೀಸಿತು. ಆ ಬಿರುಗಾಳಿಯು ಬೆಟ್ಟಗಳನ್ನು ಸೀಳಿ ಹಾಕಿತು; ಅದು ದೊಡ್ಡ ಬಂಡೆಗಳನ್ನು ಯೆಹೋವನ ಎದುರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಒಡೆದುಹಾಕಿತು. ಆದರೆ ಆ ಗಾಳಿಯೇ ಯೆಹೋವನಲ್ಲ! ಆ ಬಿರುಗಾಳಿಯ ನಂತರ ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದು ಭೂಕಂಪವುಂಟಾಯಿತು. ಆದರೆ ಆ ಭೂಕಂಪವು ಯೆಹೋವನಲ್ಲ.

યહોવાએ તેને જણાવ્યું, “બહાર જા અને પર્વત પર યહોવાની ઉપસ્થિતિમાં ઊભો રહે.” કારણ યહોવા ત્યાંથી પસાર થઇ રહ્યાં છે, પ્રચંડ પવન ફુંકાવા લાગ્યો, જે યહોવાની હાજરીમાં પર્વતને હલાવી શકે અને પથ્થરોને તોડી શકે એટલો શકિતશાળી હતો. પરંતુ યહોવા તે પવનમાં નહોતા. પવન પછી ભૂકંપ થયો, પરંતુ યહોવા કંઈ એ ભૂકંપમાં નહોતા.

ତା'ପରେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ଏଲିଯକୁ କହିଲେ, "ୟାଅ, ପର୍ବତ ଉପରେ ମାେ ସମ୍ମୁଖ ରେ ଛିଡା ହୁଅ। ମୁଁ ତୁମ୍ଭ ପାଖ ଦଇେ ଅତିକ୍ରମ କରିବି।" ତା'ପରେ ପ୍ରବଳ ଓ ପ୍ରଚଣ୍ତ ବାଯୁ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ସମ୍ମୁଖ ରେ ପର୍ବତଗଣଙ୍କୁ ବିଦୀର୍ଣ୍ଣ କଲା ଓ ଶୈଳସବୁ ଭାଙ୍ଗି ଖଣ୍ତ ବିଖଣ୍ତିତ ହେଲା। ମାତ୍ର ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ସହେି ବାଯୁ ରେ ନଥିଲେ। ପୁଣି ପ୍ରବଳ ପବନ ପରେ ଭୂମିକମ୍ପ ହେଲା, ମାତ୍ର ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ସହେି ଭୂମିକମ୍ପରେ ନଥିଲେ।
