ఆ వృద్ధ ప్రవక్తే యూదా దేశాపు దైవజనుని వెనుకకు తీసుకొని వచ్చాడు. వృద్ధ ప్రవక్త జరిగినదంతావిని, “ఆ దైవజనుడు యెహోవా ఆజ్ఞ పాటించలేదు. అందువలన యెహోవా ఒక సింహాన్ని అతనిని చంపటానికి పంపాడు. ఇది చేస్తానని యెహోవా చెప్పియున్నాడు” అని అన్నాడు.

ಆ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಯು ಆ ಮನುಷ್ಯನನ್ನು ಮೋಸದಿಂದ ಕರೆದು ತಂದಿದ್ದನು. ಅವನಿಗೆ ಸಂಭವಿಸಿದ್ದನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿದಾಗ ಅವನು, “ಯೆಹೋವನ ಆಜ್ಞೆಗಳನ್ನು ಅನುಸರಿಸದಿದ್ದ ದೇವಮನುಷ್ಯನೇ ಅವನಾಗಿರಬೇಕು. ಅವನನ್ನು ಕೊಲ್ಲಲು ಯೆಹೋವನು ಸಿಂಹವನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದನು. ಹೀಗೆ ಮಾಡುವುದಾಗಿ ಯೆಹೋವನೇ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದನು” ಎಂದನು.
