BNV : অনেক দরিদ্র ইহুদী তাদের আত্মীযদের বিরুদ্ধে অভিয়োগ করতে শুরু করলো|

KJV : For there were that said, We, our sons, and our daughters, [are] many: therefore we take up corn [for them,] that we may eat, and live.
YLT : yea, there are who are saying, `Our sons, and our daughters, we -- are many, and we receive corn, and eat, and live.`
RV : For there were that said, We, our sons and our daughters, are many: let us get corn, that we may eat and live.

ERVEN : Some of them were saying, "We have many children. We must get some grain if we are going to eat and stay alive."

BNV : অন্য লোকরা বলল, “দুর্ভিক্ষের সময় শস্য পাবার জন্য আমরা আমাদের জমিজমা, দ্রাক্ষাক্ষেত এবং বাড়ি বন্ধক রেখেছিলাম|”
KJV : [Some] also there were that said, We have mortgaged our lands, vineyards, and houses, that we might buy corn, because of the dearth.
YLT : And there are who are saying, `Our fields, and our vineyards, and our houses, we are pledging, and we receive corn for the famine.`
RV : Some also there were that said, We are mortgaging our fields, and our vineyards, and our houses: let us get corn, because of the dearth.
RSV : There were also those who said, "We are mortgaging our fields, our vineyards, and our houses to get grain because of the famine."

ERVEN : Other people were saying, "This is a time of famine. We have to use our fields, vineyards, and homes to pay for grain."

BNV : আবার আরেক দল বলতে শুরু করল, “আমাদের জোত জমি ও দ্রাক্ষাক্ষেতের ওপর ধার্য় রাজকর দেবার জন্য আমাদের অর্থ ধার করতে হয়েছিল|
KJV : There were also that said, We have borrowed money for the king’s tribute, [and that upon] our lands and vineyards.
YLT : And there are who are saying, `We have borrowed money for the tribute of the king, [on] our fields, and our vineyards;
RV : There were also that said, We have borrowed money for the king-s tribute {cf15i upon} our fields and our vineyards.
RSV : And there were those who said, "We have borrowed money for the king's tax upon our fields and our vineyards.
ASV : There were also that said, We have borrowed money for the kings tribute upon our fields and our vineyards.
ESV : And there were those who said, "We have borrowed money for the king's tax on our fields and our vineyards.
ERVEN : And still other people were saying, "We have to pay the king's tax on our fields and vineyards. But we cannot afford to pay, so we are borrowing money to pay the tax.

BNV : আর এদিকে ঐসব ধনী লোকদের দেখো! আমরাও তো ওদেরই মতো মানুষ, আমাদের ছেলেমেয়েরাই বা ওদের থেকে কম কিসে? কিন্তু শেষ পর্য়ন্ত আমাদের ছেলেমেয়েদের দাসদাসী হিসেবে বিক্রি করে দিতে হবে! ইতিমধ্যেই অনেকে তা করতে শুরু করেছে, অথচ আমরা কিছুই করতে পারছি না| আমাদের ভূমি ও দ্রাক্ষাক্ষেত এখন অন্য লোকদের অধীনে!”
KJV : Yet now our flesh [is] as the flesh of our brethren, our children as their children: and, lo, we bring into bondage our sons and our daughters to be servants, and [some] of our daughters are brought unto bondage [already:] neither [is it] in our power [to redeem them;] for other men have our lands and vineyards.
YLT : and now, as the flesh of our brethren [is] our flesh, as their sons [are] our sons, and lo, we are subduing our sons and our daughters for servants, and there are of our daughters subdued, and our hand hath no might, and our fields and our vineyards [are] to others.`

ERVEN : We are as good as the others. Our sons are as good as their sons. But we will have to sell our sons and daughters as slaves. Some of us have already had to sell our daughters as slaves. There is nothing we can do. We have already lost our fields and vineyards. Other people own them now."

BNV : আমি যখন ওদের অভিয়োগগুলো শুনলাম তখন মহারুদ্ধ হলাম|
KJV : And I was very angry when I heard their cry and these words.

BNV : তারপর আমি নিজেকে শান্ত করে বিত্তবান পরিবার ও আধিকারিকবর্গের কাছে গিয়ে বললাম, “তোমরা তোমাদের নিজেদের লোকদের টাকা ধার দাও এবং তাদের কাছ থেকে সুদ আদায কর| তোমাদের অতি অবশ্য এ কাজ বন্ধ করতে হবে|” এরপর আমি সমস্ত ব্যক্তিদের এক জায়গায জড়ো করে বললাম,
KJV : Then I consulted with myself, and I rebuked the nobles, and the rulers, and said unto them, Ye exact usury, every one of his brother. And I set a great assembly against them.
YLT : and my heart reigneth over me, and I strive with the freemen, and with the prefects, and say to them, `Usury one upon another ye are exacting;` and I set against them a great assembly,
RV : Then I consulted with myself, and contended with the nobles and the rulers, and said unto them, Ye exact usury, every one of his brother. And I held a great assembly against them.
RSV : I took counsel with myself, and I brought charges against the nobles and the officials. I said to them, "You are exacting interest, each from his brother." And I held a great assembly against them,
ASV : Then I consulted with myself, and contended with the nobles and the rulers, and said unto them, Ye exact usury, every one of his brother. And I held a great assembly against them.
ESV : I took counsel with myself, and I brought charges against the nobles and the officials. I said to them, "You are exacting interest, each from his brother." And I held a great assembly against them
ERVEN : I calmed myself down, and then I went to the rich families and the officials. I told them, "You are forcing your own people to pay interest on the money you loan them. You must stop doing that!" Then I called for all the people to meet together

BNV : “লোকরা আমাদের ইহুদী ভাইদের এীতদাস হিসেবে অন্য দেশসমূহে বিক্রি করে দিয়েছিল| বহু কষ্টে আমরা তাদের স্বাধীন করে দেশে ফিরিযে এনেছি আর এখন তোমরা নিজেরাই আবার তাদের এীতদাস হিসেবে বিক্রি করছো!”ধনী লোকরা ও আধিকারিকরা এই অভিয়োগ শুনে কিছু বলতে পারল না, চুপ করে থাকল|
KJV : And I said unto them, We after our ability have redeemed our brethren the Jews, which were sold unto the heathen; and will ye even sell your brethren? or shall they be sold unto us? Then held they their peace, and found nothing [to answer. ]
YLT : and say to them, `We have acquired our brethren the Jews, those sold to the nations, according to the ability that [is] in us, and ye also sell your brethren, and they have been sold to us!` and they are silent, and have not found a word.
RV : And I said unto them, We after our ability have redeemed our brethren the Jews, which were sold unto the heathen; and would ye even sell your brethren, and should they be sold unto us? Then held they their peace, and found never a word.
RSV : and said to them, "We, as far as we are able, have bought back our Jewish brethren who have been sold to the nations; but you even sell your brethren that they may be sold to us!" They were silent, and could not find a word to say.
ASV : And I said unto them, We after our ability have redeemed our brethren the Jews, that were sold unto the nations; and would ye even sell your brethren, and should they be sold unto us? Then held they their peace, and found never a word.
ESV : and said to them, "We, as far as we are able, have bought back our Jewish brothers who have been sold to the nations, but you even sell your brothers that they may be sold to us!" They were silent and could not find a word to say.
ERVEN : and said to them, "Our fellow Jews were sold as slaves to people in other countries. We did our best to buy them back and make them free. And now, you are selling them like slaves again!" The rich people and officials kept quiet. They could not find anything to say.

BNV : তখন আমি তাদের বললাম, “তোমরা যা করছ, সেটা সঠিক কাজ নয়| তোমাদের ঈশ্বরের প্রতি শ্রদ্ধা ও ভয় থাকা প্রয়োজন| অন্যান্য জাতিরা যে সব লজ্জাজনক কাজ করছে সেসব তোমাদের করা উচিত্‌ নয়|
KJV : Also I said, It [is] not good that ye do: ought ye not to walk in the fear of our God because of the reproach of the heathen our enemies?
YLT : And I say, `Not good [is] the thing that ye are doing; in the fear of our God do ye not walk, because of the reproach of the nations our enemies?
RV : Also I said, The thing that ye do is not good: ought ye not to walk in the fear of our God, because of the reproach of the heathen our enemies?
RSV : So I said, "The thing that you are doing is not good. Ought you not to walk in the fear of our God to prevent the taunts of the nations our enemies?
ASV : Also I said, The thing that ye do is not good: ought ye not to walk in the fear of our God, because of the reproach of the nations our enemies?
ESV : So I said, "The thing that you are doing is not good. Ought you not to walk in the fear of our God to prevent the taunts of the nations our enemies?
ERVEN : So I continued speaking. I said, "What you people are doing is not right! You know that you should fear and respect God. You should not do the shameful things other people do!

BNV : আমার লোকরা, আমার ভাইরা, এমন কি আমিও, দরিদ্রদের টাকাপয়সা ও খাদ্যশস্য ধার দিচ্ছি| এসো আমরা তাদের যে টাকা ধার দিই তার থেকে সুদ নেওয়া বন্ধ করি|
KJV : I likewise, [and] my brethren, and my servants, might exact of them money and corn: I pray you, let us leave off this usury.
YLT : And also, I, my brethren, and my servants, are exacting of them silver and corn; let us leave off, I pray you, this usury.
RV : And I likewise, my brethren and my servants, do lend them money and corn on usury. I pray you, let us leave off this usury.
RSV : Moreover I and my brethren and my servants are lending them money and grain. Let us leave off this interest.
ASV : And I likewise, my brethren and my servants, do lend them money and grain. I pray you, let us leave off this usury.
ESV : Moreover, I and my brothers and my servants are lending them money and grain. Let us abandon this exacting of interest.
ERVEN : My men, my brothers, and I are also lending money and grain to the people. But let's stop forcing them to pay interest on these loans.

BNV : তোমরা অতি অবশ্য দরিদ্র ব্যক্তিদের জমি-জমা, দ্রাক্ষাক্ষেত, বাড়ি ফেরত দিয়ে দেবে| এছাড়াও তোমরা, এদের টাকা-পয়সা, শস্য, দ্রাক্ষারস এবং তেল ধার দিয়ে তার ওপর এক শতাংশ হারে যে সুদ নিয়েছো তাও ফিরিযে দেবে|”
KJV : Restore, I pray you, to them, even this day, their lands, their vineyards, their oliveyards, and their houses, also the the hundredth [part] of the money, and of the corn, the wine, and the oil, that ye exact of them.
YLT : Give back, I pray you, to them, as to-day, their fields, their vineyards, their olive-yards, and their houses, and the hundredth [part] of the money, and of the corn, of the new wine, and of the oil, that ye are exacting of them.`
RV : Restore, I pray you, to them, even this day, their fields, their vineyards, their oliveyards, and their houses, also the hundredth part of the money, and of the corn, the wine, and the oil, that ye exact of them.
RSV : Return to them this very day their fields, their vineyards, their olive orchards, and their houses, and the hundredth of money, grain, wine, and oil which you have been exacting of them."
ASV : Restore, I pray you, to them, even this day, their fields, their vineyards, their oliveyards, and their houses, also the hundredth part of the money, and of the grain, the new wine, and the oil, that ye exact of them.
ESV : Return to them this very day their fields, their vineyards, their olive orchards, and their houses, and the percentage of money, grain, wine, and oil that you have been exacting from them."
ERVEN : You must give their fields, vineyards, olive fields, and houses back to them, right now! And you must give back the interest you charged them. You charged them one percent for the money, grain, new wine, and oil that you loaned them."

BNV : তখন ধনী ব্যক্তি সবাই আমাকে বলল, “নহিমিয় তুমি যা বললে তাই হবে| আমরা ওদের সব কিছু ফিরিযে দেব আর কখনও গরীব দুঃখীদের থেকে কিছু নেব না|”তারপর যাজকদের ডেকে ঈশ্বরের সামনে ধনী ও আধিকারিকরা যা বলেছে তা শপথ করালাম|
KJV : Then said they, We will restore [them,] and will require nothing of them; so will we do as thou sayest. Then I called the priests, and took an oath of them, that they should do according to this promise.
YLT : And they say, `We give back, and of them we seek nothing; so we do as thou art saying.` And I call the priests, and cause them to swear to do according to this thing;
RV : Then said they, We will restore them, and will require nothing of them; so will we do, even as thou sayest. Then I called the priests, and took an oath of them, that they should do according to this promise.
RSV : Then they said, "We will restore these and require nothing from them. We will do as you say." And I called the priests, and took an oath of them to do as they had promised.

ESV : Then they said, "We will restore these and require nothing from them. We will do as you say." And I called the priests and made them swear to do as they had promised.
ERVEN : Then the rich people and the officials said, "We will give it back and not demand anything more from them. Nehemiah, we will do as you say." Then I called the priests. I made the rich people and the officials promise to God that they would do what they said.

BNV : এরপর আমি আমার কাপড়ের ভাঁজ ঝাড়তে ঝাড়তে তাদের বললাম, “এই একই ভাবে তোমরা যারা এই প্রতিশ্রুতি ভঙ্গ করবে, তাদের প্রত্যেককে ঈশ্বর ধরে ঝাঁকাবেন| ঈশ্বর তাকে গৃহচ্যুত তো করবেনই উপরন্তু তার যা কিছু আছে সবই তাকে হারাতে হবে|”আমি আমার বক্তব্য শেষ করার পর উপস্থিত সকলে “আমেন” বলল| তারপর তারা সকলে প্রভুর প্রশংসা করল এবং এরা সকলেই তাদের কথা রেখেছিল|
KJV : Also I shook my lap, and said, So God shake out every man from his house, and from his labour, that performeth not this promise, even thus be he shaken out, and emptied. And all the congregation said, Amen, and praised the LORD. And the people did according to this promise.
YLT : also, my lap I have shaken, and I say, `Thus doth God shake out every man, who doth not perform this thing, from his house, and from his labour; yea, thus is he shaken out and empty;` and all the assembly say, `Amen,` and praise Jehovah; and the people do according to this thing.
RV : Also I shook out my lap, and said, So God shake out every man from his house, and from his labour, that performeth not this promise; even thus be he shaken out, and emptied. And all the congregation said, Amen, and praised the LORD. And the people did according to this promise.
RSV : I also shook out my lap and said, "So may God shake out every man from his house and from his labor who does not perform this promise. So may he be shaken out and emptied." And all the assembly said "Amen" and praised the LORD. And the people did as they had promised.
ASV : Also I shook out my lap, and said, So God shake out every man from his house, and from his labor, that performeth not this promise; even thus be he shaken out, and emptied. And all the assembly said, Amen, and praised Jehovah. And the people did according to this promise.
ESV : I also shook out the fold of my garment and said, "So may God shake out every man from his house and from his labor who does not keep this promise. So may he be shaken out and emptied." And all the assembly said "Amen" and praised the LORD. And the people did as they had promised.
ERVEN : Then I shook out the folds of my clothes. I said, "God will do the same thing to everyone who does not keep their promise. God will shake them out of their houses and they will lose everything they worked for. They will lose everything!" I finished saying these things and all the people agreed. They all said, "Amen" and praised the Lord. So the people did as they had promised.

BNV : রাজা অর্তক্ষস্তর রাজত্বের 20 তম বছর থেকে 32 তম বছর পর্য়ন্ত আমি যিহূদার রাজ্যপাল হিসেবে কাজ করছিলাম| সে সময় আমি বা আমার কোন ভাই রাজ্যপালের জন্য বরা? খাদ্য খাইনি| আমি কখনও দরিদ্র ব্যক্তিদের জোরজবর্দস্তি কর দিতে বাধ্য করে সে পয়সায নিজের খাবার কিনিনি| আমি অর্তক্ষস্তের রাজত্বের কুড়ি বছর থেকে বত্রিশ বছর পর্য়ন্ত অর্থাত্‌ মোট বারো বছর যিহূদার শাসক হিসেবে কাজ করেছিলাম|
KJV : Moreover from the time that I was appointed to be their governor in the land of Judah, from the twentieth year even unto the two and thirtieth year of Artaxerxes the king, [that is,] twelve years, I and my brethren have not eaten the bread of the governor.
YLT : Also, from the day that he appointed me to be their governor in the land of Judah, from the twentieth year even unto the thirty and second year of Artaxerxes the king -- twelve years -- I, and my brethren, the bread of the governor have not eaten:
RV : Moreover from the time that I was appointed to be their governor in the land of Judah, from the twentieth year even unto the two and thirtieth year of Artaxerxes the king, {cf15i that is}, twelve years, I and my brethren have not eaten the bread of the governor.

ERVEN : And also, during the whole time that I was appointed to be governor in the land of Judah, neither my brothers nor I ate the food that was allowed for the governor. {I never forced the people to pay taxes to buy my food.} I was governor from the 20 year until the 32 year that Artaxerxes was king. I was governor of Judah for twelve years.

BNV : যে সব রাজ্যপালরা আমার আগে শাসন করেছিলেন তাঁরা লোকদের জীবন দুর্বিসহ করে তুলেছিলেন| এঁরা সকলেই প্রত্যেক ব্যক্তির কাছ থেকে এক পাউণ্ড রূপোসহ খাবার ও দ্রাক্ষারস দাবী করতেন| নেতৃবর্গ, যারা ঐ সব রাজ্যপালদের অধীন ছিল তারাও লোকেদের শোষণ করত| কিন্তু যেহেতু আমার ঈশ্বরে ভয়-ভীতি আছে, আমি এই ধরণের কাজ করিনি|
KJV : But the former governors that [had been] before me were chargeable unto the people, and had taken of them bread and wine, beside forty shekels of silver; yea, even their servants bare rule over the people: but so did not I, because of the fear of God.
YLT : the former governors who [are] before me have made themselves heavy on the people, and take of them in bread and wine, besides in silver forty shekels; also, their servants have ruled over the people -- and I have not done so, because of the fear of God.
RV : But the former governors that were before me were chargeable unto the people, and took of them bread and wine, beside forty shekels of silver; yea, even their servants bare rule over the people: but so did not I, because of the fear of God.
RSV : The former governors who were before me laid heavy burdens upon the people, and took from them food and wine, besides forty shekels of silver. Even their servants lorded it over the people. But I did not do so, because of the fear of God.
ASV : But the former governors that were before me were chargeable unto the people, and took of them bread and wine, besides forty shekels of silver; yea, even their servants bare rule over the people: but so did not I, because of the fear of God.
ESV : The former governors who were before me laid heavy burdens on the people and took from them for their daily ration forty shekels of silver. Even their servants lorded it over the people. But I did not do so, because of the fear of God.
ERVEN : But the governors who ruled before me made life hard for the people. The governors forced everyone to pay 1 pound of silver. They also made the people give them food and wine. The leaders under these governors also ruled over the people {and made life even harder}. But I respected and feared God, so I didn't do things like that.

BNV : আমি জেরুশালেমের দেওয়াল তোলবার জন্য কঠিন পরিশ্রম করেছিলাম| আমার সমস্ত লোকরাও এই কাজের জন্য একত্রে এসেছিল| আমরা কারো কাছ থেকে কোন জমি জমা কেড়ে নিই নি|
KJV : Yea, also I continued in the work of this wall, neither bought we any land: and all my servants [were] gathered thither unto the work.
YLT : And also, in the work of this wall I have done mightily, even a field we have not bought, and all my servants are gathered there for the work;

ERVEN : I worked hard at building the wall of Jerusalem. All my men gathered there to work on the wall. We didn't take any land from anyone.

BNV : উপরন্তু আমি নিয়মিত ভাবে আমার টেবিলে 150 জন ইহুদী আধিকারিকদের খাওয়ার য়োগান দিয়েছিলাম| আর আমাদের আশেপাশের দেশ থেকে যে সব লোকরা আমার টেবিলের কাছে এসেছিল আমি তাদেরও খাবার সরবরাহ করতাম|
KJV : Moreover [there were] at my table an hundred and fifty of the Jews and rulers, beside those that came unto us from among the heathen that [are] about us.
YLT : and of the Jews, and of the prefects, a hundred and fifty men, and those coming in unto us of the nations that [are] round about us, [are] at my table;

BNV : প্রতি দিন লোকদের খাওয়াবার জন্য আমি একটি গরু, ছয়টি মোটা মেষ এবং নানান ধরণের পাখি রান্না করার জন্য দিতাম| প্রতি দশদিন অন্তর আমি প্রভূত পরিমাণে সব রকমের দ্রাক্ষারস দিতাম| কিন্তু আমি কখনই শাসকের জন্য বরা? দামী খাবার-দাবার দাবি করিনি বা আমার খাবার কেনার জন্য প্রজাদের ওই সমস্ত কর দিতে বাধ্য করিনি| আমি জানতাম, দেওয়াল বানানোর জন্য সকলে কঠিন পরিশ্রম করছে|
KJV : Now [that] which was prepared [for me] daily [was] one ox [and] six choice sheep; also fowls were prepared for me, and once in ten days store of all sorts of wine: yet for all this required not I the bread of the governor, because the bondage was heavy upon this people.
YLT : and that which hath been prepared for one day [is] one ox, six fat sheep, also fowls have been prepared for me, and once in ten days of all wines abundantly, and with this, the bread of the governor I have not sought, for heavy is the service on this people.

ESV : Now what was prepared at my expense for each day was one ox and six choice sheep and birds, and every ten days all kinds of wine in abundance. Yet for all this I did not demand the food allowance of the governor, because the service was too heavy on this people.
ERVEN : Every day I prepared this much food for the people who ate at my table: one cow, six good sheep, and different kinds of birds. Every ten days all kinds of wine were brought to my table. Yet, I never demanded them to give me the food that was allowed for the governor. I knew that the work the people were doing was very hard.
