BNV : কয়েকজন ফরীশী ও ব্যবস্থার শিক্ষক জেরুশালেম থেকে যীশুর কাছে এলেন৷
KJV : Then came together unto him the Pharisees, and certain of the scribes, which came from Jerusalem.
YLT : And gathered together unto him are the Pharisees, and certain of the scribes, having come from Jerusalem,

ERVEN : Some Pharisees and some teachers of the law came from Jerusalem and gathered around Jesus.

BNV : তাঁরা দেখলেন য়ে, তাঁর কয়েকজন শিষ্য হাত না ধুয়ে খাবার খাচ্ছেন৷
KJV : And when they saw some of his disciples eat bread with defiled, that is to say, with unwashen, hands, they found fault.
YLT : and having seen certain of his disciples with defiled hands -- that is, unwashed -- eating bread, they found fault;
RV : and had seen that some of his disciples ate their bread with defiled, that is, unwashen, hands.
RSV : they saw that some of his disciples ate with hands defiled, that is, unwashed.

BNV : ফরীশী সম্প্রদায়ের লোকেরা এবং সমস্ত ইহুদীরা প্রাচীন রীতি অনুসারে ভাল করে হাত না ধুয়ে খাবার খেতো না৷
KJV : For the Pharisees, and all the Jews, except they wash [their] hands oft, eat not, holding the tradition of the elders.
YLT : for the Pharisees, and all the Jews, if they do not wash the hands to the wrist, do not eat, holding the tradition of the elders,
RV : For the Pharisees, and all the Jews, except they wash their hands diligently, eat not, holding the tradition of the elders:
RSV : (For the Pharisees, and all the Jews, do not eat unless they wash their hands, observing the tradition of the elders;

ERVEN : The Pharisees and all the other Jews never eat before washing their hands in this special way. They do this to follow the traditions they have from their great leaders who lived long ago.

BNV : আর বাজার থেকে কোন কিছু কিনলে তা বিশেষভাবে না ধুয়ে খেতো না৷ আরও বহু প্রাচীন রীতি নীতি তারা মেনে চলত, য়েমন পানপাত্রটি, কলসী ও পিতলের নানা পাত্র ধোওযা ইত্যাদি৷
KJV : And [when they come] from the market, except they wash, they eat not. And many other things there be, which they have received to hold, [as] the washing of cups, and pots, brasen vessels, and of tables.
YLT : and, [coming] from the market-place, if they do not baptize themselves, they do not eat; and many other things there are that they received to hold, baptisms of cups, and pots, and brazen vessels, and couches.
RV : and {cf15i when they come} from the marketplace, except they wash themselves, they eat not: and many other things there be, which they have received to hold, washings of cups, and pots, and brasen vessels.

ESV : and when they come from the marketplace, they do not eat unless they wash. And there are many other traditions that they observe, such as the washing of cups and pots and copper vessels and dining couches.)
ERVEN : And when these Jews buy something in the market, they never eat it until they wash it in a special way. They also follow other rules from their people who lived before them. They follow rules like the washing of cups, pitchers, and pots.

BNV : সেই ফরীশীরা ও ব্যবস্থার শিক্ষকরা যীশুকে জিজ্ঞাসা করলেন, ‘আপনার শিষ্যরা প্রাচীন রীতিনীতি অনুসারে চলে না, তারা হাত না ধুয়ে তাদের খাবার খায়, এর কারণ কি?’
KJV : Then the Pharisees and scribes asked him, Why walk not thy disciples according to the tradition of the elders, but eat bread with unwashen hands?
YLT : Then question him do the Pharisees and the scribes, `Wherefore do thy disciples not walk according to the tradition of the elders, but with unwashed hands do eat the bread?`
RV : And the Pharisees and the scribes ask him, Why walk not thy disciples according to the tradition of the elders, but eat their bread with defiled hands?
RSV : And the Pharisees and the scribes asked him, "Why do your disciples not live according to the tradition of the elders, but eat with hands defiled?"

ERVEN : The Pharisees and teachers of the law said to Jesus, "Your followers don't follow the traditions we have from our great leaders who lived long ago. They eat their food with hands that are not clean. Why do they do this?"

BNV : যীশু তাঁদের বললেন, ‘ভণ্ডরা, ভাববাদী যিশাইয় তোমাদের বিষয়ে ঠিকই বলেছেন, য়েমন লেখা আছে, ‘এই লোকেরা মুখেই শুধু আমাকে সম্মান করে, কিন্তু তাদের মন আমার থেকে অনেক দূরে থাকে৷
KJV : He answered and said unto them, {SCJ}Well hath Esaias prophesied of you hypocrites, as it is written, This people honoureth me with [their] lips, but their heart is far from me. {SCJ.}
YLT : and he answering said to them -- `Well did Isaiah prophesy concerning you, hypocrites, as it hath been written, This people with the lips doth honor Me, and their heart is far from Me;
RV : And he said unto them, Well did Isaiah prophesy of you hypocrites, as it is written, This people honoureth me with their lips, But their heart is far from me.
RSV : And he said to them, "Well did Isaiah prophesy of you hypocrites, as it is written, `This people honors me with their lips, but their heart is far from me;

ERVEN : Jesus answered, "You are all hypocrites. Isaiah was right when he wrote these words from God about you: 'These people honor me with their words, but I am not really important to them.

BNV : এরা অনর্থক আমার উপাসনা করে৷ কারণ এরা মানুষের তৈরী রীতি-নীতি ঈশ্বরের আদেশ বলে লোকদের শিক্ষা দেয়৷’যিশাইয়
KJV : {SCJ}Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching [for] doctrines the commandments of men. {SCJ.}
YLT : and in vain do they worship Me, teaching teachings, commands of men;
RV : But in vain do they worship me, Teaching {cf15i as their} doctrines the precepts of men.
RSV : in vain do they worship me, teaching as doctrines the precepts of men.'

ERVEN : Their worship of me is worthless. The things they teach are only human rules.'

BNV : তোমরা ঈশ্বরের আদেশ অমান্য করে মানুষের প্রচলিত প্রথা পালন করে থাকো৷’
KJV : {SCJ}For laying aside the commandment of God, ye hold the tradition of men, [as] the washing of pots and cups: and many other such like things ye do. {SCJ.}
YLT : for, having put away the command of God, ye hold the tradition of men, baptisms of pots and cups; and many other such like things ye do.`
RV : Ye leave the commandment of God, and hold fast the tradition of men.
RSV : You leave the commandment of God, and hold fast the tradition of men."

BNV : যীশু তাদের আরো বললেন, ‘তোমরা নিজেদের ঐতিহ্য় বজায় রাখার জন্য খুব বুদ্ধি খাটিয়ে ঈশ্বরের আদেশ অমান্য করছ৷
KJV : And he said unto them, {SCJ}Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition. {SCJ.}
YLT : And he said to them, `Well do ye put away the command of God that your tradition ye may keep;
RV : And he said unto them, Full well do ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your tradition.
RSV : And he said to them, "You have a fine way of rejecting the commandment of God, in order to keep your tradition!

BNV : মোশি বলেছেন, ‘তুমি নিজের বাবা, মাকে সম্মান করো,’আর ‘য়ে লোকটি বাবা কিংবা মায়ের নিন্দা করবে তার মৃত্যুদণ্ড হবে৷’
KJV : {SCJ}For Moses said, Honour thy father and thy mother; and, Whoso curseth father or mother, let him die the death: {SCJ.}
YLT : for Moses said, Honour thy father and thy mother; and, He who is speaking evil of father or mother -- let him die the death;
RV : For Moses said, Honour thy father and thy mother; and, He that speaketh evil of father or mother, let him die the death:
RSV : For Moses said, `Honor your father and your mother'; and, `He who speaks evil of father or mother, let him surely die';

ERVEN : Moses said, 'You must respect your father and mother.' He also said, 'Whoever says anything bad to their father or mother must be killed.'

BNV : কিন্তু তোমরা বল লোকটি যদি তার বাবা-মাকে বলে, ‘আমি যা কিছু দিয়ে তোমাদের উপকার করতে পারতাম, তা ঈশ্বরকে উত্‌সর্গ করেছি,’
KJV : {SCJ}But ye say, If a man shall say to his father or mother, [It is] Corban, that is to say, a gift, by whatsoever thou mightest be profited by me; [he shall be free. ]{SCJ.}
YLT : and ye say, If a man may say to father or to mother, Korban (that is, a gift), [is] whatever thou mayest be profited out of mine,
RV : but ye say, If a man shall say to his father or his mother, That wherewith thou mightest have been profited by me is Corban, that is to say, Given {cf15i to God};
RSV : but you say, `If a man tells his father or his mother, What you would have gained from me is Corban' (that is, given to God) --

ERVEN : But you teach that people can say to their father or mother, 'I have something I could use to help you, but I will not use it for you. I will give it to God.'

BNV : তখন এমন লোককে তোমরা বাবা বা মায়ের জন্য কিছুই করতে দাও না৷
KJV : {SCJ}And ye suffer him no more to do ought for his father or his mother; {SCJ.}
YLT : and no more do ye suffer him to do anything for his father or for his mother,
RV : ye no longer suffer him to do aught for his father or his mother;
RSV : then you no longer permit him to do anything for his father or mother,
ASV : ye no longer suffer him to do aught for his father or his mother;
ESV : then you no longer permit him to do anything for his father or mother,
ERVEN : You are telling people that they do not have to do anything for their father or mother.

BNV : ঈশ্বরের বাক্য তোমাদের বংশানুক্রমে পালন করা ঐতিহ্য দ্বারা তোমরা নিষ্ফল কর৷
KJV : {SCJ}Making the word of God of none effect through your tradition, which ye have delivered: and many such like things do ye. {SCJ.}
YLT : setting aside the word of God for your tradition that ye delivered; and many such like things ye do.`
RV : making void the word of God by your tradition, which ye have delivered: and many such like things ye do.
RSV : thus making void the word of God through your tradition which you hand on. And many such things you do."

ERVEN : So you are teaching that it is not important to do what God said. You think it is more important to follow those traditions you have, which you pass on to others. And you do many things like that."

BNV : তিনি সমস্ত লোককে আবার তাঁর কাছে ডেকে বললেন, ‘তোমরা সকলে আমার কথা শোন এবং বোঝ৷
KJV : And when he had called all the people [unto him,] he said unto them, {SCJ}Hearken unto me every one [of you,] and understand: {SCJ.}
YLT : And having called near all the multitude, he said to them, `Hearken to me, ye all, and understand;
RV : And he called to him the multitude again, and said unto them, Hear me all of you, and understand:
RSV : And he called the people to him again, and said to them, "Hear me, all of you, and understand:

ERVEN : Jesus called the people to him again. He said, "Everyone should listen to me and understand what I am saying.

BNV : মানুষের বাইরে এমন কিছু নেই যা ভেতরে গিয়ে তাকে কলুষিত করতে পারে কিন্তু যা যা মানুষের ভেতর থেকে বের হয় সেটাই মানুষকে কলুষিত করে৷’
KJV : {SCJ}There is nothing from without a man, that entering into him can defile him: but the things which come out of him, those are they that defile the man. {SCJ.}
YLT : there is nothing from without the man entering into him that is able to defile him, but the things coming out from him, those are the things defiling the man.
RV : there is nothing from without the man, that going into him can defile him: but the things which proceed out of the man are those that defile the man.
RSV : there is nothing outside a man which by going into him can defile him; but the things which come out of a man are what defile him."

BNV : পরে তিনি লোকদের ছেড়ে বাড়িতে ঢুকলে, তাঁর শিষ্যরা তাঁকে সেই দৃষ্টান্তটির অর্থ জিজ্ঞাসা করলেন৷
KJV : And when he was entered into the house from the people, his disciples asked him concerning the parable.
YLT : And when he entered into a house from the multitude, his disciples were questioning him about the simile,
RV : And when he was entered into the house from the multitude, his disciples asked of him the parable.

BNV : তিনি তাঁদের বললেন, ‘তোমরাও কি অবোধ? তোমরা কি বোঝ না, বাইরে থেকে যা কিছু মানুষের ভেতরে যায় তা তাকে কলুষিত করতে পারে না?
KJV : And he saith unto them, {SCJ}Are ye so without understanding also? Do ye not perceive, that whatsoever thing from without entereth into the man, [it] cannot defile him; {SCJ.}
YLT : and he saith to them, `So also ye are without understanding! Do ye not perceive that nothing from without entering into the man is able to defile him?
RV : And he saith unto them, Are ye so without understanding also? Perceive ye not, that whatsoever from without goeth into the man, {cf15i it} cannot defile him;
RSV : And he said to them, "Then are you also without understanding? Do you not see that whatever goes into a man from outside cannot defile him,

ERVEN : He said, "Do you still have trouble understanding? Surely you know that nothing that enters the mouth from the outside can make people unacceptable to God.

BNV : কারণ এটা তার অন্তরে য়েতে পারে না, পাকস্থলীতে যায় এবং তারপর দেহের বাইরে গিয়ে পড়ে৷’ এই কথার মাধ্যমে তিনি সমস্ত খাবারকেই শুদ্ধ বললেন৷
KJV : {SCJ}Because it entereth not into his heart, but into the belly, and goeth out into the draught, purging all meats? {SCJ.}
YLT : because it doth not enter into his heart, but into the belly, and into the drain it doth go out, purifying all the meats.`

ERVEN : Food does not go into a person's mind. It goes into the stomach. Then it goes out of the body." (When Jesus said this, he meant there is no food that is wrong for people to eat.)

BNV : তিনি আরও বললেন, ‘মানুষের অন্তর থেকে যা বার হয়, সেটাই মানুষকে কলুষিত করে৷
KJV : And he said, {SCJ}That which cometh out of the man, that defileth the man. {SCJ.}
YLT : And he said -- `That which is coming out from the man, that doth defile the man;
RV : And he said, That which proceedeth out of the man, that defileth the man.
RSV : And he said, "What comes out of a man is what defiles a man.
ASV : And he said, That which proceedeth out of the man, that defileth the man.
ESV : And he said, "What comes out of a person is what defiles him.
ERVEN : And Jesus said, "The things that make people wrong are the things that come from the inside.

BNV : কারণ মানুষের ভেতর অর্থাত্ মন থেকে বার হয় কুত্‌সিত চিন্তা, লালসা, চুরি, খুন,
KJV : {SCJ}For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, {SCJ.}
YLT : for from within, out of the heart of men, the evil reasonings do come forth, adulteries, whoredoms, murders,
RV : For from within, out of the heart of men, evil thoughts proceed, fornications, thefts, murders, adulteries,

BNV : য়ৌন পাপ, লোভ, দুষ্টামি, প্রতারণা, অশ্লীলতা, ঈর্ষা, নিন্দা, অভিমান ও অহঙ্কার৷
KJV : {SCJ}Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness: {SCJ.}
YLT : thefts, covetous desires, wickedness, deceit, arrogance, an evil eye, evil speaking, pride, foolishness;
RV : covetings, wickednesses, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, railing, pride, foolishness:
RSV : coveting, wickedness, deceit, licentiousness, envy, slander, pride, foolishness.

ERVEN : adultery, greed, doing bad things to people, lying, doing things that are morally wrong, jealousy, insulting people, proud talking, and foolish living.

BNV : এই সমস্ত খারাপ বিষয় মানুষের ভেতর থেকে বার হয় ও মানুষকে কলুষিত করে৷’
KJV : {SCJ}All these evil things come from within, and defile the man. {SCJ.}
YLT : all these evils do come forth from within, and they defile the man.`
RV : all these evil things proceed from within, and defile the man.
RSV : All these evil things come from within, and they defile a man."

BNV : পরে তিনি সেই স্থান ছেড়ে সোর অঞ্চলে গিয়ে সেখানে একটা বাড়িতে ঢুকলেন, আর তিনি য়ে সেখানে এসেছেন সেটা গোপন রাখতে চাইলেন: কিন্তু পারলেন না৷
KJV : And from thence he arose, and went into the borders of Tyre and Sidon, and entered into an house, and would have no man know [it:] but he could not be hid.
YLT : And from thence having risen, he went away to the borders of Tyre and Sidon, and having entered into the house, he wished none to know, and he was not able to be hid,

ERVEN : Jesus went from there to the area around Tyre. He did not want the people in that area to know he was there, so he went into a house. But he could not stay hidden.

BNV : যীশুর আসার কথা শুনে একটি স্ত্রীলোক, যার মেয়ের ওপর অশুচি আত্মা ভর করেছিল, সে সঙ্গে সঙ্গে এসে যীশুর পায়ে লুটিয়ে পড়ল৷
KJV : For a [certain] woman, whose young daughter had an unclean spirit, heard of him, and came and fell at his feet:
YLT : for a woman having heard about him, whose little daughter had an unclean spirit, having come, fell at his feet, --
RV : But straightway a woman, whose little daughter had an unclean spirit, having heard of him, came and fell down at his feet.
RSV : But immediately a woman, whose little daughter was possessed by an unclean spirit, heard of him, and came and fell down at his feet.

ERVEN : A woman heard that he was there. Her little daughter had an evil spirit inside her. So the woman came to Jesus and bowed down near his feet.

BNV : স্ত্রীলোকটি ছিল জাতিতে গ্রীক, সুরফৈনীকী৷ সে মিনতি করে যীশুকে বলল য়েন তিনি তার মেয়ের ভেতর থেকে ভূতকে তাড়িয়ে দেন৷
KJV : The woman was a Greek, a Syrophenician by nation; and she besought him that he would cast forth the devil out of her daughter.
YLT : and the woman was a Greek, a Syro-Phenician by nation -- and was asking him, that the demon he may cast forth out of her daughter.
RV : Now the woman was a Greek, a Syrophoenician by race. And she besought him that he would cast forth the devil out of her daughter.

ERVEN : She was not a Jew. She was born in Phoenicia, an area in Syria. She begged Jesus to force the demon out of her daughter.

KJV : And she answered and said unto him, Yes, Lord: yet the dogs under the table eat of the children’s crumbs.

BNV : তখন তিনি তাকে বললেন, ‘তুমি ভালোই বলেছ, বাড়ি যাও, গিয়ে দেখ ভূত তোমার মেয়েকে ছেড়ে চলে গেছে৷
KJV : And he said unto her, {SCJ}For this saying go thy way; the devil is gone out of thy daughter. {SCJ.}
YLT : And he said to her, `Because of this word go; the demon hath gone forth out of thy daughter;`

KJV : And when she was come to her house, she found the devil gone out, and her daughter laid upon the bed.
