BNV : নিরাশ না হয়ে তাদের য়ে সব সময় প্রার্থনা করা উচিত, তা বোঝাতে গিয়ে যীশু তাদের এই দৃষ্টান্তটি দিলেন,
KJV : And he spake a parable unto them [to this end,] that men ought always to pray, and not to faint;
YLT : And he spake also a simile to them, that it behoveth [us] always to pray, and not to faint,
RV : And he spake a parable unto them to the end that they ought always to pray, and not to faint;

ERVEN : Then Jesus taught the followers that they should always pray and never lose hope. He used this story to teach them:

BNV : তিনি বললেন, ‘কোন এক শহরে একজন বিচারক ছিলেন৷ তিনি ঈশ্বরকে ভয় করতেন না, আবার মানুষকে গ্রাহ্য করতেন না৷
KJV : Saying, {SCJ}There was in a city a judge, which feared not God, neither regarded man: {SCJ.}
YLT : saying, `A certain judge was in a certain city -- God he is not fearing, and man he is not regarding --
RV : saying, There was in a city a judge, which feared not God, and regarded not man:
RSV : He said, "In a certain city there was a judge who neither feared God nor regarded man;

ERVEN : "Once there was a judge in a town. He did not care about God. He also did not care what people thought about him.

BNV : সেই শহরে একজন বিধবা ছিল৷ সে বার বার সেই বিচারকের কাছে এসে বলত, ‘আপনাকে দেখতে হবে য়েন আমার প্রতিপক্ষের বিরুদ্ধে আমি ন্যায় বিচার পাই!’
KJV : {SCJ}And there was a widow in that city; and she came unto him, saying, Avenge me of mine adversary. {SCJ.}
YLT : and a widow was in that city, and she was coming unto him, saying, Do me justice on my opponent,
RV : and there was a widow in that city; and she came oft unto him, saying, Avenge me of mine adversary.
RSV : and there was a widow in that city who kept coming to him and saying, `Vindicate me against my adversary.'

ERVEN : In that same town there was a woman whose husband had died. She came many times to this judge and said, 'There is a man who is doing bad things to me. Give me my rights!'

BNV : কিছু দিন ধরে সেই বিচারক তার কোন কথাই শুনতে চাইলেন না৷ কিন্তু এক সময় তিনি মনে মনে বললেন, ‘যদিও আমি ঈশ্বরকে ভয় করি না আর মানুষকে মানি না,
KJV : {SCJ}And he would not for a while: but afterward he said within himself, Though I fear not God, nor regard man; {SCJ.}
YLT : and he would not for a time, but after these things he said in himself, Even if God I do not fear, and man do not regard,

ERVEN : But the judge did not want to help the woman. After a long time, the judge thought to himself, 'I don't care about God. And I don't care about what people think.

BNV : তবু এই বিধবা যখন আমায় এত বিরক্ত করছে তখন আমি দেখব সে য়েন ন্যায় বিচার পায়, তাহলে সে আর বার বার এসে আমাকে জ্বালাতন করবে না৷”
KJV : {SCJ}Yet because this widow troubleth me, I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me. {SCJ.}
YLT : yet because this widow doth give me trouble, I will do her justice, lest, perpetually coming, she may plague me.`
RV : yet because this widow troubleth me, I will avenge her, lest she wear me out by her continual coming.
RSV : yet because this widow bothers me, I will vindicate her, or she will wear me out by her continual coming.'"

ERVEN : But this woman is bothering me. If I give her what she wants, then she will leave me alone. But if I don't give her what she wants, she will bother me until I am sick.'"

BNV : এরপর প্রভু বললেন, ‘লক্ষ্য কর! ঐ অধার্মিক বিচারকর্তা কি বলল৷
KJV : And the Lord said, {SCJ}Hear what the unjust judge saith. {SCJ.}
YLT : And the Lord said, `Hear ye what the unrighteous judge saith:
RV : And the Lord said, Hear what the unrighteous judge saith.
RSV : And the Lord said, "Hear what the unrighteous judge says.

ERVEN : The Lord said, "Listen, there is meaning in what the bad judge said.

BNV : তাহলে ঈশ্বর কি তাঁর মনোনীত লোকেরা, যাঁরা দিন-রাত তাঁকে ডাকছে, তারা য়েন ন্যায় বিচার পায় তা দেখবেন না? তিনি কি তাদের সাহায্য করতে অযথা দেরী করবেন?
KJV : {SCJ}And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them? {SCJ.}
YLT : and shall not God execute the justice to His choice ones, who are crying unto Him day and night -- bearing long in regard to them?
RV : And shall not God avenge his elect, which cry to him day and night, and he is longsuffering over them?
RSV : And will not God vindicate his elect, who cry to him day and night? Will he delay long over them?
ASV : And shall not God avenge his elect, that cry to him day and night, and yet he is longsuffering over them?
ESV : And will not God give justice to his elect, who cry to him day and night? Will he delay long over them?
ERVEN : God's people shout to him night and day, and he will always give them what is right. He will not be slow to answer them.

BNV : আমি তোমাদের বলছি, তিনি তাদের পক্ষে ন্যায় বিচার করবেনই আর তা তাড়াতাড়িই করবেন৷ যাইহোক, মানবপুত্র যখন আসবেন, তখন কি তিনি এই পৃথিবীতে বিশ্বাস দেখতে পাবেন?’
KJV : {SCJ}I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth? {SCJ.}
YLT : I say to you, that He will execute the justice to them quickly; but the Son of Man having come, shall he find the faith upon the earth?`

BNV : যাঁরা নিজেদেরকে ধার্মিক মনে করত আর অন্যকে তুচ্ছ করত, তাদের উদ্দেশ্যে তিনি এই দৃষ্টান্তটি দিলেন,
KJV : And he spake this parable unto certain which trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised others:

ERVEN : There were some people who thought they were very good and looked down on everyone else. Jesus used this story to teach them:

BNV : ‘দুজন লোক মন্দিরে প্রার্থনা করার জন্য গেল; তাদের মধ্যে একজন ফরীশী আর অন্য জন কর-আদায়কারী৷
KJV : {SCJ}Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, and the other a publican. {SCJ.}

BNV : ফরীশী দাঁড়িয়ে নিজের সম্বন্ধে এইভাবে প্রার্থনা করতে লাগল, ‘য়ে ঈশ্বর, আমি তোমায় ধন্যবাদ দিচ্ছি য়ে আমি অন্য সব লোকদের মতো নই; দস্য়ু, প্রতারক, ব্যভিচারী অথবা এই কর-আদায়কারীর মতো নই৷
KJV : {SCJ}The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men [are,] extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican. {SCJ.}
YLT : the Pharisee having stood by himself, thus prayed: God, I thank Thee that I am not as the rest of men, rapacious, unrighteous, adulterers, or even as this tax-gatherer;

BNV : আমি সপ্তাহে দুদিন উপোস করি, আর আমার আয়ের দশ ভাগের একভাগ দান করি৷’

BNV : ‘কিন্তু সেই কর-আদায়কারী দাঁড়িয়ে স্বর্গের দিকে মুখ তুলে তাকাতেও সাহস করল না, বরং সে বুক চাপড়াতে চাপড়াতে বলল, ‘হে ঈশ্বর, আমি পাপী! আমার প্রতি দযা কর!’
KJV : {SCJ}And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as [his] eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner. {SCJ.}
YLT : `And the tax-gatherer, having stood afar off, would not even the eyes lift up to the heaven, but was smiting on his breast, saying, God be propitious to me -- the sinner!

BNV : আমি তোমাদের বলছি, এই কর-আদায়কারী ধার্মিক প্রতিপন্ন হয়ে বাড়ি চলে গেল কিন্তু ঐ ফরীশী নয়৷ য়ে কেউ নিজেকে বড় করে তাকে ছোট করা হবে; আর য়ে নিজেকে ছোট করে তাকে বড় করা হবে৷’
KJV : {SCJ}I tell you, this man went down to his house justified [rather] than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted. {SCJ.}
YLT : I say to you, this one went down declared righteous, to his house, rather than that one: for every one who is exalting himself shall be humbled, and he who is humbling himself shall be exalted.`

ERVEN : I tell you, when this man finished his prayer and went home, he was right with God. But the Pharisee, who felt that he was better than others, was not right with God. People who make themselves important will be made humble. But those who make themselves humble will be made important."

BNV : লোকেরা একসময় তাদের ছোট ছোট ছেলেমেয়েদের যীশুর কাছে নিয়ে এল য়েন তিনি তাদের স্পর্শ করে আশীর্বাদ করেন৷ এই দেখে শিষ্যরা তাদের খুব ধমক দিলেন৷
KJV : And they brought unto him also infants, that he would touch them: but when [his] disciples saw [it,] they rebuked them.

ERVEN : Some people brought their small children to Jesus so that he could lay his hands on them to bless them. But when the followers saw this, they told the people not to do this.

BNV : কিন্তু যীশু সেই ছেলেমেয়েদের তাঁর কাছে ডাকলেন, আর বললেন, ‘ছোট ছোট ছেলেমেয়েদের আমার কাছে আসতে দাও, তাদের বারণ করো না, কারণ এই শিশুদের মতো লোকদের জন্যই তো ঈশ্বরের রাজ্য৷
KJV : But Jesus called them [unto him,] and said, {SCJ}Suffer little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God. {SCJ.}
YLT : and Jesus having called them near, said, `Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not, for of such is the reign of God;

BNV : আমি তোমাদের সত্যি বলছি, যদি কেউ শিশুর মতো ঈশ্বরের রাজ্যকে গ্রহণ না করে তবে সে কোনমতে তার মধ্যে প্রবেশ করতে পারবে না!’
KJV : {SCJ}Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child shall in no wise enter therein. {SCJ.}
YLT : verily I say to you, Whoever may not receive the reign of God as a little child, may not enter into it.`

BNV : ইহুদীদের একজন দলনেতা তাঁকে জিজ্ঞেস করল, ‘হে সদগুরু, অনন্ত জীবন পেতে হলে আমাকে কি করতে হবে?’
KJV : And a certain ruler asked him, saying, Good Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?
YLT : And a certain ruler questioned him, saying, `Good teacher, what having done -- shall I inherit life age-during?`

ERVEN : A religious leader asked Jesus, "Good Teacher, what must I do to get eternal life?"

BNV : যীশু তাঁকে বললেন, ‘তুমি আমায় সত্ বলছ, কেন? ঈশ্বর ছাড়া আর কেউ সত্ নয়৷
KJV : And Jesus said unto him, {SCJ}Why callest thou me good? none [is] good, save one, [that is,] God. {SCJ.}
YLT : And Jesus said to him, `Why me dost thou call good? no one [is] good, except One -- God;

BNV : তুমি তো ঈশ্বরের সব আজ্ঞা জান, ব্যভিচার কোর না, নরহত্যা করো না, চুরি করো না, মিথ্যা সাক্ষী দিও না, তোমরা বাবা-মাকে সম্মান করো৷”
KJV : {SCJ}Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Honour thy father and thy mother. {SCJ.}
YLT : the commands thou hast known: Thou mayest not commit adultery, Thou mayest do no murder, Thou mayest not steal, Thou mayest not bear false witness, Honour thy father and thy mother.`
RV : Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Honour thy father and mother.

BNV : সে বলল, ‘আমি ছোটবেলা থেকেই সে সব পালন করে আসছি৷’
KJV : And he said, All these have I kept from my youth up.
YLT : And he said, `All these I did keep from my youth;`
RV : And he said, All these things have I observed from my youth up.
RSV : And he said, "All these I have observed from my youth."
ASV : And he said, All these things have I observed from my youth up.
ESV : And he said, "All these I have kept from my youth."
ERVEN : But the leader said, "I have obeyed all these commands since I was a boy."

BNV : একথা শুনে যীশু তাকে বললেন, ‘কিন্তু তোমার মধ্যে একটি বিষয়ের এখনও ত্রুটি আছে৷ তোমার যা কিছু আছে সে সব বিক্রি করে তা গরীবদের মধ্যে বিলিয়ে দাও, তাহলে স্বর্গে তোমার ধন-সম্পদ জমা হবে, তারপর আমায় অনুসরণ কর৷’
KJV : Now when Jesus heard these things, he said unto him, {SCJ}Yet lackest thou one thing: sell all that thou hast, and distribute unto the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, follow me. {SCJ.}
YLT : and having heard these things, Jesus said to him, `Yet one thing to thee is lacking; all things -- as many as thou hast -- sell, and distribute to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven, and come, be following me;`
RV : And when Jesus heard it, he said unto him, One thing thou lackest yet: sell all that thou hast, and distribute unto the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, follow me.
RSV : And when Jesus heard it, he said to him, "One thing you still lack. Sell all that you have and distribute to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow me."
ASV : And when Jesus heard it, he said unto him, One thing thou lackest yet: sell all that thou hast, and distribute unto the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, follow me.
ESV : When Jesus heard this, he said to him, "One thing you still lack. Sell all that you have and distribute to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow me."
ERVEN : When Jesus heard this, he said to the leader, "But there is still one thing you need to do. Sell everything you have and give the money to those who are poor. You will have riches in heaven. Then come and follow me."

BNV : কিন্তু এই কথা শুনে তার খুবই দুঃখ হল, কারণ তার প্রচুর ধন-সম্পদ ছিল৷
KJV : And when he heard this, he was very sorrowful: for he was very rich.
YLT : and he, having heard these things, became very sorrowful, for he was exceeding rich.
RV : But when he heard these things, he became exceeding sorrowful; for he was very rich.
RSV : But when he heard this he became sad, for he was very rich.

ERVEN : But when the man heard Jesus tell him to give away his money, he was sad. He didn't want to do this, because he was very rich.

BNV : যীশু তাকে দুঃখিত হতে দেখে বললেন, ‘যাদের ধন-সম্পদ আছে তাদের পক্ষে ঈশ্বরের রাজ্যে প্রবেশ করা কত কঠিন!
KJV : And when Jesus saw that he was very sorrowful, he said, {SCJ}How hardly shall they that have riches enter into the kingdom of God! {SCJ.}
YLT : And Jesus having seen him become very sorrowful, said, `How hardly shall those having riches enter into the reign of God!
RV : And Jesus seeing him said, How hardly shall they that have riches enter into the kingdom of God!
RSV : Jesus looking at him said, "How hard it is for those who have riches to enter the kingdom of God!
ASV : And Jesus seeing him said, How hardly shall they that have riches enter into the kingdom of God!
ESV : Jesus, looking at him with sadness, said, "How difficult it is for those who have wealth to enter the kingdom of God!
ERVEN : When Jesus saw that the man was sad, he said, "It will be very hard for rich people to enter God's kingdom.

BNV : হ্যাঁ, একজন ধনীর পক্ষে ঈশ্বরের রাজ্যে প্রবেশ করা অপেক্ষা ছুঁচের মধ্য দিয়ে উটের পার হওযা সহজ৷’
