BNV : যদি আমার মাথা ভর্তি জল থাকতো, যদি আমার চোখ অশ্রু-জলের ঝর্ণা হতো তাহলে আমি আমার লোকেদের ধ্বংসের জন্য সারা দিনরাত কাঁদতাম|
KJV : Oh that my head were waters, and mine eyes a fountain of tears, that I might weep day and night for the slain of the daughter of my people!

BNV : মরুভূমির মাঝে আমার যদি একটা ছোট্ট বাড়ি থাকতো, যেখানে পথিক ক্লান্ত হয়ে রাত কাটায, তাহলে আমি আমার লোকদের ত্যাগ করতে পারতাম| তাদের কাছ থেকে সরে য়েতে পারতাম| কারণ তারা ঈশ্বরের প্রতি বিশ্বস্ত নয়, তারা প্রত্যেকে ঈশ্বরের বিরুদ্ধাচরণ করেছে|
KJV : Oh that I had in the wilderness a lodging place of wayfaring men; that I might leave my people, and go from them! for they [be] all adulterers, an assembly of treacherous men.
YLT : Who doth give me in a wilderness A lodging-place of travellers? And I leave my people, and go from them, For all of them [are] adulterers, An assembly of treacherous ones.

ESV : Oh that I had in the desert a travelers' lodging place, that I might leave my people and go away from them! For they are all adulterers, a company of treacherous men.
ERVEN : If only I had a place in the desert— a house where travelers spend the night— so I could leave my people. I could go away from them, because they are all unfaithful to God. They have all turned against him.

BNV : “জিহবা হল তাদের ধনুকের মতো| আর সেখান থেকে তীরের মতো উড়ে আসে এক রাশি মিথ্য়ে| এই দেশের সত্য নয়, চারিদিকে কেবল মিথ্য়েরই জয়জয়কার| এখানকার লোকরা একটা পাপ থেকে আরেক পাপের পথে হেঁটেছে| তারা আমাকে জানে না|” প্রভু এই কথাগুলি বললেন|
KJV : And they bend their tongues [like] their bow [for] lies: but they are not valiant for the truth upon the earth; for they proceed from evil to evil, and they know not me, saith the LORD.
YLT : And they bend their tongue, their bow [is] a lie, And not for stedfastness have they been mighty in the land, For from evil unto evil they have gone forth, And Me they have not known, An affirmation of Jehovah!
RV : And they bend their tongue {cf15i as it were} their bow for falsehood; and they are grown strong in the land, but not for truth: for they proceed from evil to evil, and they know not me, saith the LORD.

ERVEN : "They use their tongues like a bow; lies fly from their mouths like arrows. Lies, not truth, have grown strong in this land. They go from one sin to another. They don't know me." This is what the Lord said.

BNV : “প্রতিবেশীদের লক্ষ্য কর! নিজের ভাইকেও বিশ্বাস করো না| কারণ তারা প্রত্যেকে ঠগ, প্রতারক, প্রত্যেক প্রতিবেশীই ওর পিছনে কথা বলে|
KJV : Take ye heed every one of his neighbour, and trust ye not in any brother: for every brother will utterly supplant, and every neighbour will walk with slanders.
YLT : Each of his friend -- beware ye, And on any brother, do not trust, For every brother doth utterly supplant, For every friend slanderously doth walk,

ERVEN : "Watch your neighbors! Don't trust your own brothers, because every brother is a cheat. Every neighbor talks behind your back.

BNV : প্রত্যেকে তার প্রতিবেশীকে মিথ্য়ে বলে| কেউ সত্যি কথা বলে না| যিহূদার লোকরা শুধু মিথ্য়েই বলতে শিখেছে| যতক্ষণ না তারা খুব ক্লান্ত হয়ে ফিরে এলো ততক্ষণ তারা পাপাচার চালিযে গিয়েছিল|
KJV : And they will deceive every one his neighbour, and will not speak the truth: they have taught their tongue to speak lies, [and] weary themselves to commit iniquity.
YLT : And each at his friend they mock, And truth they do not speak, They taught their tongue to speak falsehood, To commit iniquity they have laboured.

ERVEN : Everyone lies to their neighbor. No one speaks the truth. The people of Judah have taught their tongues to lie. They sinned until they were too tired to come back.

BNV : মন্দ মন্দকেই অনুসরণ করে এবং মিথ্য়ে অনুসরণ করে মিথ্যাকে| লোকরা আমাকে চিনতে অস্বীকার করেছিল|” প্রভু এই কথাগুলি বললেন|
KJV : Thine habitation [is] in the midst of deceit; through deceit they refuse to know me, saith the LORD.

ERVEN : One bad thing followed another, and lies followed lies. The people refused to know me." This is what the Lord said.

BNV : সুতরাং প্রভু সর্বশক্তিমান বললেন: “খাঁটি ধাতু কি না তা বোঝার জন্য এক জন শ্রমিক আগুনে গালিযে দেখে| য়েহেতু আমার আর অন্য কোন বিকল্প নেই তাই আমি যিহূদার লোকদের এই ভাবেই পরীক্ষা করব| আমার লোকরা পাপ করেছে|
KJV : Therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts, Behold, I will melt them, and try them; for how shall I do for the daughter of my people?
YLT : Therefore, thus said Jehovah of Hosts: Lo, I am refining them, and have tried them, For how do I do because of the daughter of My people?

ERVEN : So the Lord All-Powerful says, "A worker heats metal in a fire to test to see if it is pure. I will test the people of Judah like that. I have no other choice. My people have sinned.

ERVEN : The people of Judah have tongues as sharp as arrows. Their mouths speak lies. They all speak kindly to their neighbors, but they are secretly planning ways to attack them.

BNV : যিহূদার লোকদের আমি শাস্তি দেবই|” এই হল প্রভুর বার্তা| “তুমি জানো এই ধরণের লোককে আমার শাস্তি দেওয়া উচিত্‌| তাদের য়োগ্য শাস্তিই আমি দেব|”
KJV : Shall I not visit them for these [things?] saith the LORD: shall not my soul be avenged on such a nation as this?
YLT : For these things do not I see after them? An affirmation of Jehovah, Against a nation such as this doth not My soul avenge itself?
RV : Shall I not visit them for these things? saith the LORD: shall not my soul be avenged on such a nation as this?
RSV : Shall I not punish them for these things? says the LORD; and shall I not avenge myself on a nation such as this?
ASV : Shall I not visit them for these things? saith Jehovah; shall not my soul be avenged on such a nation as this?
ESV : Shall I not punish them for these things? declares the LORD, and shall I not avenge myself on a nation such as this?
ERVEN : Should I punish the people of Judah for doing these things?" This message is from the Lord. "You know I should punish a nation such as this. I should give it the punishment it deserves."

BNV : আমি (যিরমিয়) পাহাড়দের জন্য আর্ত চিত্কার করে উঠবো| শূন্য জমির জন্য শোকের গান গাইব| কারণ জীবিত সব কিছু সরিয়ে নেওয়া হয়েছে| কোন মানুষ এখন সেখানে হাঁটে না| কোন গবাদি পশুর আওয়াজ সেখানে শোনা যাবে না| পশু এবং পাখীরা দূরে কোথাও চলে গিয়েছে|
KJV : For the mountains will I take up a weeping and wailing, and for the habitations of the wilderness a lamentation, because they are burned up, so that none can pass through [them;] neither can [men] hear the voice of the cattle; both the fowl of the heavens and the beast are fled; they are gone.
YLT : For the mountains I lift up weeping and wailing, And for the habitations of the wilderness a lamentation, For they have been burnt up without any passing over, Nor have they heard the voice of cattle, From the fowl of the heavens unto the beast they have fled, they have gone.

RSV : "Take up weeping and wailing for the mountains, and a lamentation for the pastures of the wilderness, because they are laid waste so that no one passes through, and the lowing of cattle is not heard; both the birds of the air and the beasts have fled and are gone.
ASV : For the mountains will I take up a weeping and wailing, and for the pastures of the wilderness a lamentation, because they are burned up, so that none passeth through; neither can men hear the voice of the cattle; both the birds of the heavens and the beasts are fled, they are gone.
ESV : "I will take up weeping and wailing for the mountains, and a lamentation for the pastures of the wilderness, because they are laid waste so that no one passes through, and the lowing of cattle is not heard; both the birds of the air and the beasts have fled and are gone.
ERVEN : I, Jeremiah, will cry for the mountains. I will sing a funeral song for the empty fields, because all the animals were taken away. No one travels there now. The sounds of cattle cannot be heard. The birds have flown away, and the animals are gone.

BNV : “আমি (প্রভু) জেরুশালেম শহরকে জঞ্জালের স্তূপে পরিণত করব| এ হবে শেযালদের দেশ| যিহূদার সমস্ত শহরকে আমি ধ্বংস করব যাতে সেখানে কেউ বাস করতে না পারে|”
KJV : And I will make Jerusalem heaps, [and] a den of dragons; and I will make the cities of Judah desolate, without an inhabitant.
YLT : And I make Jerusalem become heaps, A habitation of dragons, And the cities of Judah I make a desolation, Without inhabitant.
RV : And I will make Jerusalem heaps, a dwelling place of jackals; and I will make the cities of Judah a desolation, without inhabitant.
RSV : I will make Jerusalem a heap of ruins, a lair of jackals; and I will make the cities of Judah a desolation, without inhabitant."

ERVEN : "I, the Lord, will make the city of Jerusalem a pile of garbage. It will be a home for jackals. I will destroy the cities in the land of Judah, so no one will live there."

KJV : Who [is] the wise man, that may understand this? and [who is he] to whom the mouth of the LORD hath spoken, that he may declare it, for what the land perisheth [and] is burned up like a wilderness, that none passeth through?
YLT : Who [is] the wise man? and he understandeth this, And he to whom the mouth of Jehovah spake? And he doth declare it, For what hath the land perished? It hath been burnt up as a wilderness, Without any passing through.
RV : Who is the wise man, that may understand this? and {cf15i who is} he to whom the mouth of the LORD hath spoken, that he may declare it? wherefore is the land and perished burned up like a wilderness, so that none passeth through?
RSV : Who is the man so wise that he can understand this? To whom has the mouth of the LORD spoken, that he may declare it? Why is the land ruined and laid waste like a wilderness, so that no one passes through?
ASV : Who is the wise man, that may understand this? and who is he to whom the mouth of Jehovah hath spoken, that he may declare it? wherefore is the land perished and burned up like a wilderness, so that none passeth through?

ERVEN : Is there a man who is wise enough to understand these things? Is there someone who has been taught by the Lord? Can anyone explain his message? Why was the land ruined? Why was it made like an empty desert where no people go?

BNV : প্রভু প্রশ্নগুলির উত্তর দিয়েছেন| প্রভু বলেছেন, “এসবগুলো ঘটেছে কারণ যিহূদার লোকরা আমার শিক্ষামালা অনুসরণ করা ছেড়ে দিয়েছিল| আমি তাদের শিক্ষামালা দিয়েছিলাম| কিন্তু তারা আমার কথা শুনতে অস্বীকার করেছিল| তারা আমার শিক্ষামালাকে অনুসরণ করেনি|
KJV : And the LORD saith, Because they have forsaken my law which I set before them, and have not obeyed my voice, neither walked therein;
YLT : And Jehovah saith: Because of their forsaking My law that I set before them, And they have not hearkened to My voice nor walked in it,
RV : And the LORD saith, Because they have forsaken my law which I set before them, and have not obeyed my voice, neither walked therein;

ERVEN : The Lord answered, "It is because the people of Judah stopped following my teachings. I gave them my teachings, but they refused to listen to me. They did not follow my teachings.

BNV : একগুঁযে, জেদী, যিহূদার লোকরা নিজের মতো করে চলেছিল| তারা বালের মূর্ত্তি অনুসরণ করেছিল| মূর্ত্তিদের অনুসরণ করার শিক্ষা তাদের পিতারাই দিয়েছিল|”
KJV : But have walked after the imagination of their own heart, and after Baalim, which their fathers taught them:
YLT : And they walk after the stubbornness of their heart, And after the Baalim, that their fathers taught them,

ERVEN : The people of Judah lived their own way. They were stubborn. They followed the false god Baal. Their fathers taught them to follow those false gods."

BNV : তাই প্রভু সর্বশক্তিমান, ইস্রায়েলের ঈশ্বর বলেন: “শীঘ্রই আমি যিহূদার লোকদের তিক্ত খাদ্য খেতে বাধ্য করব| আমি তাদের বিষাক্ত জল পান করতে বাধ্য করব|
KJV : Therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Behold, I will feed them, [even] this people, with wormwood, and give them water of gall to drink.
YLT : Therefore, thus said Jehovah of Hosts, God of Israel: Lo, I am causing them -- this people -- to eat wormwood, And I have caused them to drink water of gall,

ERVEN : I will scatter the people of Judah throughout other nations. They will live in strange nations that they and their fathers never knew about. I will send men with swords. They will kill the people of Judah. They will kill them until the people are finished."

BNV : সর্বশক্তিমান প্রভু বলেন: “এখন এইগুলি নিয়ে ভাবো! অন্ত্য়েষ্টি এযিায কাঁদার জন্য ভাড়াটে মহিলাদের ডাকো (রুদালি)| য়ে মহিলারা ভালো কাঁদতে পারে তাদের পাঠাও|

ERVEN : This is what the Lord All-Powerful says: "Now think about these things! Call for the women who get paid to cry at funerals. Send for the people who are good at that job.

BNV : “সিয়োন থেকে চিত্কার করে কান্নার শব্দ শোনা যাচ্ছে| ‘আমরা সত্যিই ধ্বংস হয়ে গিয়েছি! আমরা সত্যিই লজ্জিত! আমাদের দেশ ছেড়ে আমাদের চলে য়েতেই হবে| কারণ ঘরবাড়ি সব ধ্বংসস্তূপে পরিণত হয়ে গিয়েছে|”‘
KJV : For a voice of wailing is heard out of Zion, How are we spoiled! we are greatly confounded, because we have forsaken the land, because our dwellings have cast [us] out.
