BNV : প্রভু বললেন, “জেরুশালেমের রাস্তায় হাঁটো| শহরের সার্বজনীন প্রাঙ্গণগুলিতে খুঁজে দেখো| যদি একজনও সত্‌ ও ভাল মানুষের সন্ধান পাও য়ে অন্তত সত্যের খোঁজ করছে, যদি এরকম এক জনও মানুষ থাকে তাহলে জেরুশালেমকে আমি ক্ষমা করে দেব|
KJV : Run ye to and fro through the streets of Jerusalem, and see now, and know, and seek in the broad places thereof, if ye can find a man, if there be [any] that executeth judgment, that seeketh the truth; and I will pardon it.
YLT : Go to and fro in streets of Jerusalem, And see, I pray you, and know, And seek in her broad places, if ye find a man, If there be one doing judgment, seeking stedfastness -- Then am I propitious to her.
RV : Run ye to and fro through the streets of Jerusalem, and see now, and know, and seek in the broad places thereof, if ye can find a man, if there be any that doeth justly, that seeketh truth; and I will pardon her.
RSV : Run to and fro through the streets of Jerusalem, look and take note! Search her squares to see if you can find a man, one who does justice and seeks truth; that I may pardon her.

ESV : Run to and fro through thestreets of Jerusalem, look and take note! Search her squares to see if you can find a man, one who does justice and seeks truth, that I may pardon her.
ERVEN : The Lord says, "Walk the streets of Jerusalem. Look around and think about these things. Search the public squares of the city. See if you can find one good person, one who does honest things and who searches for the truth. If you find one good person, I will forgive Jerusalem.

BNV : লোকে শুধু এই বলে প্রতিশ্রুতি নেয: ‘প্রভুর অস্তিত্ব য়েমন নিশ্চিত তার দিব্য, কিন্তু তারা আসলে তা বলে না|”
KJV : And though they say, The LORD liveth; surely they swear falsely.
YLT : And if they say, `Jehovah liveth,` Surely to a falsehood they swear.
RV : And though they say, As the LORD liveth; surely they swear falsely.
RSV : Though they say, "As the LORD lives," yet they swear falsely.
ASV : And though they say, As Jehovah liveth; surely they swear falsely.
ESV : Though they say, "As the LORD lives," yet they swear falsely.
ERVEN : The people make promises and say, 'As the Lord lives.' But they don't really mean it!"

BNV : প্রভু, আমি জানি আপনি চান মানুষ আপনার অনুগত থাকুক| আপনি যিহূদাবাসীকে আঘাত করলেন| কিন্তু তারা কোন বেদনা অনুভব করে নি| আপনি তাদের ধ্বংস করলেন| কিন্তু তা থেকে তারা কোন শিক্ষা নেযনি| তারা ভীষণ একগুঁযে, জেদী| খারাপ কাজ করেছিল বলে তারা কোন রকম দুঃখপ্রকাশ পর্য়ন্ত করে নি|
KJV : O LORD, [are] not thine eyes upon the truth? thou hast stricken them, but they have not grieved; thou hast consumed them, [but] they have refused to receive correction: they have made their faces harder than a rock; they have refused to return.
YLT : Jehovah, Thine eyes, are they not on stedfastness? Thou hast smitten them, and they have not grieved, Thou hast consumed them, They have refused to receive instruction, They made their faces harder than a rock, They have refused to turn back.

ESV : O LORD, do not your eyes look for truth? You have struck them down, but they felt no anguish; you have consumed them, but they refused to take correction. They have made their faces harder than rock; they have refused to repent.
ERVEN : Lord, I know that you want people to be loyal to you. You hit the people of Judah, but they did not feel any pain. You destroyed them, but they refused to learn their lesson. They became very stubborn. They refused to be sorry for the bad things they did.

BNV : কিন্তু আমি (যিরমিয়) আমাকে মনে মনে বললাম, “তারা এত দরিদ্র এবং নির্বোধ য়ে তারা প্রভুর জীবনযাত্রা শেখে নি| ঈশ্বরের শিক্ষা বিষয়েও তারা কিছু জানে না|
KJV : Therefore I said, Surely these [are] poor; they are foolish: for they know not the way of the LORD, [nor] the judgment of their God.
YLT : And I -- I said, `Surely these [are] poor, They have been foolish, For they have not known the way of Jehovah, The judgment of their God.
RV : Then I said, Surely these are poor: they are foolish; for they know not the way of the LORD, nor the judgment of their God:
RSV : Then I said, "These are only the poor, they have no sense; for they do not know the way of the LORD, the law of their God.
ASV : Then I said, Surely these are poor; they are foolish; for they know not the way of Jehovah, nor the law of their God:
ESV : Then I said, "These are only the poor; they have no sense; for they do not know the way of the LORD, the justice of their God.
ERVEN : But I said to myself, "It must be only the poor who are so foolish. They have not learned the way of the Lord. They don't know the teachings of their God.

BNV : সুতরাং আমি যিহূদার নেতৃবৃন্দের কাছে যাব এবং তাদের সঙ্গে কথা বলব| নেতারা নিশ্চয়ই প্রভুর আচার বিধি জানবে| আমি নিশ্চিত য়ে তারা তাদের ঈশ্বরের বিধিসমূহ জানে|” কিন্তু নেতারা সব একত্র হল এবং প্রভুর সেবার কাজ থেকে দূরে সরে গেল|
KJV : I will get me unto the great men, and will speak unto them; for they have known the way of the LORD, [and] the judgment of their God: but these have altogether broken the yoke, [and] burst the bonds.
YLT : I get me to the great, and I speak with them, For they have known the way of Jehovah, The judgment of their God.` Surely they together have broken the yoke, They have drawn away the bands.
RV : I will get me unto the great men, and will speak unto them; for they know the way of the LORD, and the judgment of their God. But these with one accord have broken the yoke, and burst the bands.

ERVEN : So I will go to the leaders of Judah. I will talk to them. Surely the leaders know the way of the Lord. Surely they know the law of their God." But the leaders had all joined together to break away from serving the Lord.

BNV : তারা ঈশ্বরের বিরুদ্ধে চলে গিয়েছে| তাই বন থেকে এক সিংহ এসে তাদের আক্রমণ করবে| মরুভূমি থেকে এক নেকড়ে বাঘ এসে সবাইকে মেরে ফেলবে| তাদের শহরের কাছে এক চিতা লুকিয়ে আছে| শহরের বাইরে কেউ বেরলেই তাকে টুকরো টুকরো করে ছিঁড়ে খাবে| যিহূদার লোকরা বার বার পাপ করার ফলেই এগুলি ঘটবে| প্রভু বার বার সতর্ক করে কোন ফল পান নি| প্রভুর কাছ থেকে তারা বার বারই দূরে থেকেছে|
KJV : Wherefore a lion out of the forest shall slay them, [and] a wolf of the evenings shall spoil them, a leopard shall watch over their cities: every one that goeth out thence shall be torn in pieces: because their transgressions are many, [and] their backslidings are increased.
YLT : Therefore smitten them hath a lion out of the forest, A wolf of the deserts doth spoil them, A leopard is watching over their cities, Every one who is going out of them is torn, For many have been their transgressions, Mighty have been their backslidings.
RV : Wherefore a lion out of the forest shall slay them, a wolf of the evenings shall spoil them, a leopard shall watch over their cities, every one that goeth out thence shall be torn in pieces: because their transgressions are many, {cf15i and} their backslidings are increased.
RSV : Therefore a lion from the forest shall slay them, a wolf from the desert shall destroy them. A leopard is watching against their cities, every one who goes out of them shall be torn in pieces; because their transgressions are many, their apostasies are great.

ESV : Therefore a lion from the forest shall strike them down; a wolf from the desert shall devastate them. A leopard is watching their cities; everyone who goes out of them shall be torn in pieces, because their transgressions are many, their apostasies are great.
ERVEN : They turned against God, so a lion from the forest will attack them. A wolf from the desert will kill them. A leopard is hiding near their cities. It will tear to pieces anyone who comes out of the city. That's because the people of Judah have sinned again and again. They have wandered away from the Lord many times.

BNV : ঈশ্বর বললেন, “হে যিহূদা, আমাকে একটি সঠিক কারণ দেখাও যার জন্য আমি তোমাদের ক্ষমা করব| তোমার ছেলেমেযেরা আমাকে ত্যাগ করে মূর্ত্তির কাছে প্রতিশ্রুতি নিয়েছে| অথচ তোমার সন্তানদের আমি চাহিদা মতো সব কিছুই দিয়েছিলাম| তবু ওরা আমার প্রতি বিশ্বস্ত থাকেনি| ওরা ব্যভিচারিনীদের সঙ্গে অনেক বেশী সময় নষ্ট করেছে|
KJV : How shall I pardon thee for this? thy children have forsaken me, and sworn by [them that are] no gods: when I had fed them to the full, they then committed adultery, and assembled themselves by troops in the harlots’ houses.
YLT : For this I am not propitious to thee, Thy sons have forsaken Me, And are satisfied by that which is not god, I satisfy them, and they commit adultery, And at the house of a harlot They gather themselves together.

ESV : "How can I pardon you? Your children have forsaken me and have sworn by those who are no gods. When I fed them to the full, they committed adultery and trooped to the houses of whores.
ERVEN : The Lord said, "Judah, give me one good reason why I should forgive you. Your children have abandoned me. They made promises to idols that are not really gods! I gave your children everything they needed, but they were still unfaithful to me! They spent their time with prostitutes.

BNV : তারা ভালোভাবে খাওয়া-দাওযা করা ঘোড়ার মতো, যারা কামাবেশের জন্য তৈরী| ওরা সেই সমস্ত ঘোড়ার মতো যারা প্রতিবেশীদের স্ত্রীকে ঘরে ডেকে আনে|
KJV : They were [as] fed horses in the morning: every one neighed after his neighbour’s wife.
YLT : Fed horses -- they have been early risers, Each to the wife of his neighbour they neigh.
RV : They were as fed horses in the morning: every one neighed after his neighbour-s wife.
RSV : They were well-fed lusty stallions, each neighing for his neighbor's wife.
ASV : They were as fed horses roaming at large; every one neighed after his neighbors wife.
ESV : They were well-fed, lusty stallions, each neighing for his neighbor's wife.
ERVEN : They are like horses that have had plenty to eat and are ready to mate. They are like a horse that is calling its neighbor's wife.

BNV : “তাহলে আমি কি ঐ সব কাজের জন্য যিহূদার লোকদের শাস্তি দেব না?” এই হল প্রভুর বার্তা| “হ্যাঁ, তুমি জানো য়ে দেশ এই ভাবে বেঁচে থাকে তাকে আমার শাস্তি দিতে হবে| আমি তাদের য়োগ্য শাস্তিই দেব|
KJV : Shall I not visit for these [things?] saith the LORD: and shall not my soul be avenged on such a nation as this?
YLT : For these do I not lay a charge? An affirmation of Jehovah, And on a nation such as this, Doth not My soul avenge itself?
RV : shall I not visit for these things? saith the LORD: and shall not my soul be avenged on such a nation as this?
RSV : Shall I not punish them for these things? says the LORD; and shall I not avenge myself on a nation such as this?
ASV : Shall I not visit for these things? saith Jehovah; and shall not my soul be avenged on such a nation as this?
ESV : Shall I not punish them for these things? declares the LORD; and shall I not avenge myself on a nation such as this?
ERVEN : Should I punish the people of Judah for doing these things?" This message is from the Lord. "You know I should punish a nation such as this. I should give it the punishment it deserves.

BNV : “যাও যিহূদার সমস্ত দ্রাক্ষা গাছ কেটে দাও| (কিন্তু তাদের কখনও পুরোপুরি ধ্বংস কর না|) কেটে দাও দ্রাক্ষা গাছগুলির শাখাপ্রশাখা| কারণ এই শাখাপ্রশাখা প্রভুর নয়|
KJV : Go ye up upon her walls, and destroy; but make not a full end: take away her battlements; for they [are] not the LORD’S.
YLT : Go ye up on her walls, and destroy, And a completion make not, Turn aside her branches, for they [are] not Jehovah`s,

RSV : "Go up through her vine-rows and destroy, but make not a full end; strip away her branches, for they are not the LORD's.

ERVEN : "Go along the rows of Judah's grapevines. Cut down the vines, but don't completely destroy them. Cut off all their branches, because they don't belong to the Lord.

BNV : যিহূদা এবং ইস্রায়েলের পরিবারগুলি আমার সঙ্গে প্রতি ভাবেই বিশ্বাসঘাতকতা করেছে|” এই ছিল প্রভুর বার্তা|
KJV : For the house of Israel and the house of Judah have dealt very treacherously against me, saith the LORD.
YLT : For dealt treacherously against Me have the house of Israel, And the house of Judah, an affirmation of Jehovah.
RV : For the house of Israel and the house of Judah have dealt very treacherously against me, saith the LORD.
RSV : For the house of Israel and the house of Judah have been utterly faithless to me, says the LORD.

ERVEN : The family of Israel and the family of Judah have been unfaithful to me in every way." This message is from the Lord.

BNV : “ঐ দেশবাসীরা প্রভুর বিরুদ্ধে মিথ্য়ে প্রচার করেছে| তারা বলেছে, প্রভু আমাদের কিছুই করতে পারবে না| আমাদের আক্রমণ করতে আসছে এমন কোন সৈন্য আমরা কখনও দেখব না| কোনদিন অনাহারে মারাও যাব না|’
KJV : They have belied the LORD, and said, [It is] not he; neither shall evil come upon us; neither shall we see sword nor famine:
YLT : They have lied against Jehovah, And they say, `[It is] not He, Nor come in against us doth evil, Yea, sword and famine we do not see.
RV : They have denied the LORD, and said, It is not he; neither shall evil come upon us; neither shall we see sword nor famine:
RSV : They have spoken falsely of the LORD, and have said, `He will do nothing; no evil will come upon us, nor shall we see sword or famine.
ASV : They have denied Jehovah, and said, It is not he; neither shall evil come upon us; neither shall we see sword nor famine:
ESV : They have spoken falsely of the LORD and have said, 'He will do nothing; no disaster will come upon us, nor shall we see sword or famine.
ERVEN : "Those people lied about the Lord. They said, 'He will not do anything to us. Nothing bad will happen to us. We will never see an army attack us. We will never starve.'

BNV : “ভ্রান্ত ভাব্বাদীরা হল একটি ফাঁকা বাতাস| ঈশ্বরের বাক্য তাদের মধ্যে নেই| তাদেরও কপালে দুর্ভোগ ঘটবে|”
KJV : And the prophets shall become wind, and the word [is] not in them: thus shall it be done unto them.

ERVEN : The prophets are only empty wind. The word of God is not in them. Bad things will happen to them."

BNV : প্রভু ঈশ্বর সর্বশক্তিমান এই কথাগুলি বলেছেন: “ওই লোকরা বলেছিল য়ে আমি তাদের শাস্তি দেব না| সুতরাং যিরমিয়, আমি তোমাকে য়ে শাস্তি দেব তা আগুনের মতো হবে| ঐ লোকগুলি হবে কাঠের মতো| সেই আগুন ওদের পুড়িয়ে ছারখার করে দেবে|”
KJV : Wherefore thus saith the LORD God of hosts, Because ye speak this word, behold, I will make my words in thy mouth fire, and this people wood, and it shall devour them.
YLT : Therefore, thus said Jehovah, God of Hosts, Because of your speaking this word, Lo, I am making My words in thy mouth become fire, And this people wood, and it hath devoured them.
RV : Wherefore thus saith the LORD, the God of hosts, Because ye speak this word, behold, I will make my words in thy mouth fire, and this people wood, and it shall devour them.

ESV : Therefore thus says the LORD, the God of hosts: "Because you have spoken this word, behold, I am making my words in your mouth a fire, and this people wood, and the fire shall consume them.
ERVEN : The Lord God All-Powerful said these things: "The people said I would not punish them. So Jeremiah, the words I give you will be like fire, and these people will be like wood. That fire will burn them up completely.

BNV : ইস্রায়েলের পরিবার, এই বার্তা হল প্রভুর, “আমি শীঘ্রই তোমাদের আক্রমণ করবার জন্য বহু দূর থেকে একটি প্রাচীন দেশকে নিয়ে আসব| বহু প্রাচীন সেই দেশ| সেই দেশের মানুষের ভাষা তোমরা বুঝতে পারবে না|
KJV : Lo, I will bring a nation upon you from far, O house of Israel, saith the LORD: it [is] a mighty nation, it [is] an ancient nation, a nation whose language thou knowest not, neither understandest what they say.
YLT : Lo, I am bringing against you a nation from afar, O house of Israel, an affirmation of Jehovah, A nation -- strong it [is], a nation -- from of old it [is], A nation -- thou knowest not its tongue, Nor understandest what it speaketh.
RV : Lo, I will bring a nation upon you from far, O house of Israel, saith the LORD: it is a mighty nation, it is an ancient nation, a nation whose language thou knowest not, neither understandest what they say.
RSV : Behold, I am bringing upon you a nation from afar, O house of Israel, says the LORD. It is an enduring nation, it is an ancient nation, a nation whose language you do not know, nor can you understand what they say.
ASV : Lo, I will bring a nation upon you from far, O house of Israel, saith Jehovah: it is a mighty nation, it is an ancient nation, a nation whose language thou knowest not, neither understandest what they say.
ESV : Behold, I am bringing against you a nation from afar, O house of Israel, declares the LORD. It is an enduring nation; it is an ancient nation, a nation whose language you do not know, nor can you understand what they say.
ERVEN : Family of Israel, this message is from the Lord, "I will soon bring a nation from far away to attack you. It is an old nation; it is an ancient nation. The people of that nation speak a language that you do not know. You cannot understand what they say.

BNV : তাদের তীরের থলিগুলি খোলা কবরের মতো| তারা সবাই বলবান সৈন্য|
KJV : Their quiver [is] as an open sepulchre, they [are] all mighty men.
YLT : Its quiver [is] as an open sepulchre, All of them -- mighty ones.

ERVEN : Their arrow bags are like open graves. All their men are strong soldiers.

BNV : ঐ সব সৈন্যরা তোমাদের মজুত করা সমস্ত খাদ্য খেযে ফেলবে| ধ্বংস করবে তোমাদের সন্তানদের| তোমাদের মেষ ও রাখাল বালকদের তারা খেযে ফেলবে| দ্রাক্ষা আর ডুমুর ফল খাবে| তারা তোমাদের সমস্ত বিশ্বস্ত দুর্ভেদ্য শহরগুলিকে ধ্বংস করবে|”
KJV : And they shall eat up thine harvest, and thy bread, [which] thy sons and thy daughters should eat: they shall eat up thy flocks and thine herds: they shall eat up thy vines and thy fig trees: they shall impoverish thy fenced cities, wherein thou trustedst, with the sword.
YLT : And it hath consumed thy harvest and thy bread, They consume thy sons, and thy daughters, It consumeth thy flock, and thy herd, It consumeth thy vine, and thy fig-tree, It maketh poor thy fenced cities, In which thou art trusting -- by the sword.
RV : And they shall eat up thine harvest and thy bread, {cf15i which} thy sons and thy daughters should eat: they shall eat up thy flocks and thine herds: they shall eat up thy vines and thy fig trees: they shall beat down thy fenced cities, wherein thou trustest, with the sword.
RSV : They shall eat up your harvest and your food; they shall eat up your sons and your daughters; they shall eat up your flocks and your herds; they shall eat up your vines and your fig trees; your fortified cities in which you trust they shall destroy with the sword."
ASV : And they shall eat up thy harvest, and thy bread, which thy sons and thy daughters should eat; they shall eat up thy flocks and thy herds; they shall eat up thy vines and thy fig-trees; they shall beat down thy fortified cities, wherein thou trustest, with the sword.
ESV : They shall eat up your harvest and your food; they shall eat up your sons and your daughters; they shall eat up your flocks and your herds; they shall eat up your vines and your fig trees; your fortified cities in which you trust they shall beat down with the sword."
ERVEN : They will eat all the crops that you gathered. They will eat all your food. They will eat (destroy) your sons and daughters. They will eat your flocks and your herds. They will eat your grapes and your figs. They will destroy your strong cities with their swords. They will destroy the strong cities that you trust in.

BNV : এই হল প্রভুর বার্তা, “কিন্তু যিহূদা, যখন এই ভয়ঙ্কর দিনগুলো তোমাদের জীবনে আসবে তখন কিন্তু আমি পুরোপুরি তোমাকে ধ্বংস করব না|
KJV : Nevertheless in those days, saith the LORD, I will not make a full end with you.
YLT : And even in those days, an affirmation of Jehovah, I do not make you a completion.
RV : But even in those days, saith the LORD, I will not make a full end with you.
RSV : "But even in those days, says the LORD, I will not make a full end of you.
ASV : But even in those days, saith Jehovah, I will not make a full end with you.

ERVEN : This message is from the Lord: "But, Judah, when these terrible days come, I will not fully destroy you.

You did those things, so now you will serve foreigners in a land that does not belong to you.'

I made it that way to keep the water in its place forever. The waves may pound the beach, but they will not destroy it. The waves may roar as they come in, but they cannot go beyond the beach.

KJV : Shall I not visit for these [things?] saith the LORD: shall not my soul be avenged on such a nation as this?
