BNV : “পড়ে যাও আবর্জনায এবং সেখানেই বসে পড়! কল্দীযদের (বাবিলের অপর নাম) কুমারী কন্যা| কন্যা বসে পড় মাটিতে| তুমি এখন আর শাসক নও! লোকরা তোমাকে কোমলা ক্ষীণকাযা যুবতী মহিলা বলে মনে করবে না|
KJV : Come down, and sit in the dust, O virgin daughter of Babylon, sit on the ground: [there is] no throne, O daughter of the Chaldeans: for thou shalt no more be called tender and delicate.
YLT : Come down, and sit on the dust, O virgin daughter of Babylon, Sit on the earth, there is no throne, O daughter of the Chaldeans, For no more do they cry to thee, `O tender and delicate one.`

ERVEN : "Fall down and sit in the dirt, Virgin Daughter Babylon. You have no throne, so sit on the ground, daughter of the Chaldeans. You are not the ruler now. You are no longer the beautiful young princess that people said you were.

KJV : Take the millstones, and grind meal: uncover thy locks, make bare the leg, uncover the thigh, pass over the rivers.
YLT : Take millstones, and grind flour, Remove thy veil, draw up the skirt, Uncover the leg, pass over the floods.
RV : Take the millstones, and grind meal: remove thy veil, strip off the train, uncover the leg, pass through the rivers.

BNV : পুরুষেরা তোমার গোপন অঙ্গ দেখবে, তোমাকে ব্যবহার করবে য়ৌনকর্মে| বাজে কাজ করার জন্য মূল্য দিতে বাধ্য করবে তোমাকে, কেউ তোমাকে সাহায্য করতে আসবে না|
KJV : Thy nakedness shall be uncovered, yea, thy shame shall be seen: I will take vengeance, and I will not meet [thee as] a man.
YLT : Revealed is thy nakedness, yea, seen is thy reproach, Vengeance I take, and I meet not a man.

KJV : [As for] our redeemer, the LORD of hosts [is] his name, the Holy One of Israel.

BNV : “তাই বাবিল, যেখানেই বসে থাকো, শান্ত হও| কল্দীযদের কন্যা, অন্ধকারে আশ্রয় নাও| কেন? কারণ তোমাকে আর ‘রাজ্যগুলির রাণী’ বলে ডাকা হবে না|

BNV : “আমি আমার লোকদের ওপর রুদ্ধ ছিলাম| ঐ লোকরা আমার সম্পত্তি| কিন্তু আমি তাদের ওপর রুদ্ধ ছিলাম, তাই আমি তাদের অসম্মান করেছি| আমি তাদের তোমার হাতে তুলে দিয়েছিলাম| তুমি তাদের শাস্তি দিয়েছ| কিন্তু তুমি তাদের ক্ষমা প্রদর্শন করোনি- বৃদ্ধকেও তুমি কঠিন পরিশ্রম করতে বাধ্য করেছ|
KJV : I was wroth with my people, I have polluted mine inheritance, and given them into thine hand: thou didst shew them no mercy; upon the ancient hast thou very heavily laid thy yoke.
YLT : I have been wroth against My people, I have polluted Mine inheritance And I give them into thy hand, Thou hast not appointed for them mercies, On the aged thou hast made thy yoke very heavy,

ERVEN : "I was angry with my people. They were mine, but I turned against them. I let you punish them, but you showed them no mercy. Even for those who were old you made the work hard.

BNV : তুমি বললে, ‘আমি চির কাল থাকব| চির কাল আমিই থাকব মহারাণী|’ সেই সব লোকের ওপর তুমি যে অপকর্ম করেছ, তাও তুমি লক্ষ্য করনি| কি ঘটবে সে সম্পর্কেও ভাবনি|
KJV : And thou saidst, I shall be a lady for ever: [so] that thou didst not lay these [things] to thy heart, neither didst remember the latter end of it.
YLT : And thou sayest, `To the age I am mistress,` While thou hast not laid these things to thy heart, Thou hast not remembered the latter end of it.
RV : And thou saidst, I shall be a lady for ever: so that thou didst not lay these things to thy heart, neither didst remember the latter end thereof.
RSV : You said, "I shall be mistress for ever," so that you did not lay these things to heart or remember their end.

ERVEN : You said, 'I will live forever. I will always be the queen.' You didn't care what you did to my people. You didn't think about what might happen later.

BNV : তাই, এখন, ‘হে বিলাসলালিত রমণী’ আমার কথা শোন! তুমি নিজেকে নিরাপদ ভেবে নিজের সঙ্গে কথা বলে চলেছ| ‘আমিই একমাত্র গুরুত্বপূর্ণ মহিলা| আর কেউই আমার মতো গুরুত্বপূর্ণ নয়| আমি কখনও বিধ্বা হব না| আমার সর্বদা ছেলে মেয়ে থাকবে|’
KJV : Therefore hear now this, [thou that art] given to pleasures, that dwellest carelessly, that sayest in thine heart, I [am,] and none else beside me; I shall not sit [as] a widow, neither shall I know the loss of children:
YLT : And now, hear this, O luxurious one, Who is sitting confidently -- Who is saying in her heart, `I [am], and none else, I sit not a widow, nor know bereavement.`
RV : Now therefore hear this, thou that art given to pleasures, that dwellest carelessly, that sayest in thine heart, I am, and there is none else beside me; I shall not sit as a widow, neither shall I know the loss of children:

ESV : Now therefore hear this, you lover of pleasures, who sit securely, who say in your heart, "I am, and there is no one besides me; I shall not sit as a widow or know the loss of children":
ERVEN : So now listen, you who love only pleasure! Feeling so safe, you tell yourself, 'I alone am important, and no one else matters. I will never be a widow or lose my children.'

BNV : এই দুটি ঘটনা তোমার জীবনে ঘটবে| প্রথমতঃ তুমি তোমার ছেলেমেয়েদের হারাবে| তুমি হারাবে তোমার স্বামীকেও| হ্যাঁ, এসবই তোমার জীবনে সত্যি সত্যিই ঘটবে| তোমার যাদুবিদ্য়া, তোমার কলাকৌশল তোমাকে রক্ষা করতে পারবে না|
KJV : But these two [things] shall come to thee in a moment in one day, the loss of children, and widowhood: they shall come upon thee in their perfection for the multitude of thy sorceries, [and] for the great abundance of thine enchantments.
YLT : And come in to thee do these two things, In a moment, in one day, childlessness and widowhood, According to their perfection they have come upon thee, In the multitude of thy sorceries, In the exceeding might of thy charms.
RV : but these two things shall come to thee in a moment in one day, the loss of children, and widowhood: in their full measure shall they come upon thee, despite of the multitude of thy sorceries, and the great abundance of thine enchantments.
RSV : These two things shall come to you in a moment, in one day; the loss of children and widowhood shall come upon you in full measure, in spite of your many sorceries and the great power of your enchantments.
ASV : but these two things shall come to thee in a moment in one day, the loss of children, and widowhood; in their full measure shall they come upon thee, in the multitude of thy sorceries, and the great abundance of thine enchantments.

ERVEN : These two things will happen to you: First, you will lose your children and then your husband. And none of your magic spells will help you.

BNV : তুমি বাজে কাজ করেও নিজেকে নিরাপদ মনে কর| তুমি নিজে নিজে মনে কর, ‘আমার অপকর্ম কেউ দেখতে পায় না|’ তুমি মনে কর তোমার বিচক্ষণতা ও জ্ঞান তোমাকে বাঁচাবে| তুমি মনে মনে ভাব, ‘আমিই অনন্যা| কেউ আমার মতো গুরুত্বপূর্ণ নয়|’
KJV : For thou hast trusted in thy wickedness: thou hast said, None seeth me. Thy wisdom and thy knowledge, it hath perverted thee; and thou hast said in thine heart, I [am,] and none else beside me.
YLT : And thou art confident in thy wickedness, Thou hast said, `There is none seeing me,` Thy wisdom and thy knowledge, It is turning thee back, And thou sayest in thy heart, `I [am], and none else.`

BNV : “কিন্তু বিপদ তোমার কাছে আসবে| তুমি জান না কখন এটা ঘটবে| কিন্তু বিপর্য়য আসছে| এই সঙ্কট বন্ধ করতে তুমি কিছুই করতে পারবে না| তুমি এত তাড়াতাড়ি ধ্বংস হবে যে তুমি বুঝতেও পারবে না কি ঘটল|
KJV : Therefore shall evil come upon thee; thou shalt not know from whence it riseth: and mischief shall fall upon thee; thou shalt not be able to put if off: and desolation shall come upon thee suddenly, [which] thou shalt not know.
YLT : And come in on thee hath evil, Thou knowest not its rising, And fall on thee doth mischief, Thou art not able to pacify it, And come on thee suddenly doth desolation, Thou knowest not.
RV : Therefore shall evil come upon thee; thou shalt not know the dawning thereof: and mischief shall fall upon thee; thou shalt not be able to put it away: and desolation shall come upon thee suddenly, which thou knowest not.
RSV : But evil shall come upon you, for which you cannot atone; disaster shall fall upon you, which you will not be able to expiate; and ruin shall come on you suddenly, of which you know nothing.
ASV : Therefore shall evil come upon thee; thou shalt not know the dawning thereof: and mischief shall fall upon thee; thou shalt not be able to put it away: and desolation shall come upon thee suddenly, which thou knowest not.
ESV : But evil shall come upon you, which you will not know how to charm away; disaster shall fall upon you, for which you will not be able to atone; and ruin shall come upon you suddenly, of which you know nothing.
ERVEN : "But disaster is coming your way. You don't know when it will happen, but disaster is coming. And there is nothing you can do to stop it.

BNV : তুমি সারাজীবন কঠোর পরিশ্রম করে যাদুবিদ্য়া আর ছলাকলা শিখলে| তাই ছলাকলা আর যাদুবিদ্য়া শুরু কর| হয়তো এই কৌশল তোমাকে সাহায্য করবে| তুমি হয়তো কাউকে ভয়চকিত করতে পারবে|
KJV : Stand now with thine enchantments, and with the multitude of thy sorceries, wherein thou hast laboured from thy youth; if so be thou shalt be able to profit, if so be thou mayest prevail.
YLT : Stand, I pray thee, in thy charms, And in the multitude of thy sorceries, In which thou hast laboured from thy youth, It may be thou art able to profit, It may be thou dost terrify!

ERVEN : You worked hard all your life learning magic tricks and spells. So start using that magic. Maybe those tricks will help you. Maybe you will be able to frighten someone.

BNV : তোমার অনেক উপদেষ্টা রয়েছে| তাদের অনেক উপদেশে তুমি কি ক্লান্ত? তোমার জ্যোতিষিরা যারা নক্ষত্র দেখে তারা আসুক এবং তোমাকে সাহায্য করুক| প্রতি মাসে তারা তোমাকে বলুক তোমার কি ঘটবে|
KJV : Thou art wearied in the multitude of thy counsels. Let now the astrologers, the stargazers, the monthly prognosticators, stand up, and save thee from [these things] that shall come upon thee.
YLT : Thou hast been wearied in the multitude of thy counsels, Stand up, I pray thee, and save thee, Let the charmers of the heavens, Those looking on the stars, Those teaching concerning the months, From those things that come on thee!
RV : Thou art wearied in the multitude of thy counsels: let now the astrologers, the stargazers, the monthly prognosticators, stand up, and save thee from the things that shall come upon thee.
RSV : You are wearied with your many counsels; let them stand forth and save you, those who divide the heavens, who gaze at the stars, who at the new moons predict what shall befall you.
ASV : Thou art wearied in the multitude of thy counsels: let now the astrologers, the star-gazers, the monthly prognosticators, stand up, and save thee from the things that shall come upon thee.
ESV : You are wearied with your many counsels; let them stand forth and save you, those who divide the heavens, who gaze at the stars, who at the new moons make known what shall come upon you.
ERVEN : You have many advisors. Are you tired of the advice they give? Then send out your men who read the stars. They can tell when the month starts, so maybe they can tell you when your troubles will come.

BNV : “কিন্তু সেই লোকরা নিজেদের বাঁচাতেই সক্ষম হবে না| খড়ের মতো তারা পুড়বে| তারা এত দ্রুত পুড়ে যাবে যে রুটি বানানোর জন্য কোন কযলা পড়ে থাকবে না| পোড়ানোর জন্য কোন আগুন পড়ে থাকবে না|
KJV : Behold, they shall be as stubble; the fire shall burn them; they shall not deliver themselves from the power of the flame: [there shall] not [be] a coal to warm at, [nor] fire to sit before it.
YLT : Lo, they have been as stubble! Fire hath burned them, They deliver not themselves from the power of the flame, There is not a coal to warm them, a light to sit before it.
RV : Behold, they shall be as stubble; the fire shall burn them; they shall not deliver themselves from the power of the flame: it shall not be a coal to warm at, nor a fire to sit before.
RSV : Behold, they are like stubble, the fire consumes them; they cannot deliver themselves from the power of the flame. No coal for warming oneself is this, no fire to sit before!
ASV : Behold, they shall be as stubble; the fire shall burn them; they shall not deliver themselves from the power of the flame: it shall not be a coal to warm at, nor a fire to sit before.

ERVEN : But they cannot even save themselves. They will burn like straw. They will burn so fast that there will be no coals left to cook bread. There will be no fire left to sit by.

BNV : যে সব ব্যাপারের জন্য তুমি এত কঠিন পরিশ্রম করলে তার প্রতিটি বিষয়ে এটি ঘটবে| যে সব লোকদের সঙ্গে তুমি তোমার য়ৌবনকাল থেকে ব্যবসা করেছ, তারাও তোমাদের ত্যাগ করে যাবে| প্রত্যেকেই চলে যাবে তার নিজের পথ ধরে এবং তোমাকে রক্ষা করার জন্য কেউ থাকবে না|”
KJV : Thus shall they be unto thee with whom thou hast laboured, [even] thy merchants, from thy youth: they shall wander every one to his quarter; none shall save thee.
YLT : So have they been to thee with whom thou hast laboured, Thy merchants from thy youth, Each to his passage they have wandered, Thy saviour is not!
RV : Thus shall the things be unto thee wherein thou hast laboured: they that have trafficked with thee from thy youth shall wander every one to his quarter; there shall be none to save thee.
RSV : Such to you are those with whom you have labored, who have trafficked with you from your youth; they wander about each in his own direction; there is no one to save you.
