BNV : কিছু সময় পরে য়োষেফ জানতে পারলেন য়ে তাঁর পিতা খুব অসুস্থ| তাই য়োষেফ তাঁর দুই পুত্র মনঃশি ও ইফ্রয়িমকে নিয়ে তাঁর পিতার কাছে গেলেন|
KJV : And it came to pass after these things, that [one] told Joseph, Behold, thy father [is] sick: and he took with him his two sons, Manasseh and Ephraim.
YLT : And it cometh to pass, after these things, that [one] saith to Joseph, `Lo, thy father is sick;` and he taketh his two sons with him, Manasseh and Ephraim.
RV : And it came to pass after these things, that one said to Joseph, Behold, thy father is sick: and he took with him his two sons, Manasseh and Ephraim.
RSV : After this Joseph was told, "Behold, your father is ill"; so he took with him his two sons, Manasseh and Ephraim.

ERVEN : Some time later, Joseph learned that his father was very sick. So he took his two sons, Manasseh and Ephraim, and went to his father.

BNV : য়োষেফ সেখানে পৌঁছালে ইস্রায়েলকে কেউ খবর দিলেন, “আপনার পুত্র য়োষেফ আপনাকে দেখতে এসেছেন|” ইস্রায়েল খুব দুর্বল হয়ে পড়েছিলেন, কিন্তু তিনি খুব চেষ্টা করে কোন মতে বিছানায উঠে বসলেন|
KJV : And [one] told Jacob, and said, Behold, thy son Joseph cometh unto thee: and Israel strengthened himself, and sat upon the bed.
YLT : And [one] declareth to Jacob, and saith, `Lo, thy son Joseph is coming unto thee;` and Israel doth strengthen himself, and sit upon the bed.
RV : And one told Jacob, and said, Behold, thy son Joseph cometh unto thee: and Israel strengthened himself, and sat upon the bed.
RSV : And it was told to Jacob, "Your son Joseph has come to you"; then Israel summoned his strength, and sat up in bed.

ESV : And it was told to Jacob, "Your son Joseph has come to you." Then Israel summoned his strength and sat up in bed.
ERVEN : When Joseph arrived, someone told Israel, "Your son Joseph has come to see you." Israel was very weak, but he tried hard and sat up in his bed.

BNV : তখন ইস্রায়েল য়োষেফকে বললেন, “কনান দেশের লূস নামক জায়গায় সর্বশক্তিমান ঈশ্বর আমার সামনে আবির্ভূত হয়েছিলেন| সেখানে ঈশ্বর আমায় আশীর্বাদ করেছিলেন|
KJV : And Jacob said unto Joseph, God Almighty appeared unto me at Luz in the land of Canaan, and blessed me,
YLT : And Jacob saith unto Joseph, `God Almighty hath appeared unto me, in Luz, in the land of Canaan, and blesseth me,

BNV : ঈশ্বর আমায় বলেছিলেন, “আমি তোমাকে বহু বংশ করব| তোমার অনেক সন্তানসন্ততি হবে এবং তারা মহান হবে| এই দেশ তোমার বংশধররা চিরকালের জন্য তাদের অধিকারে রাখবে|”
KJV : And said unto me, Behold, I will make thee fruitful, and multiply thee, and I will make of thee a multitude of people; and will give this land to thy seed after thee [for] an everlasting possession.
YLT : and saith unto me, Lo, I am making thee fruitful, and have multiplied thee, and given thee for an assembly of peoples, and given this land to thy seed after thee, a possession age-during.
RV : and said unto me, Behold, I will make thee fruitful, and multiply thee, and I will make of thee a company of peoples; and will give this land to thy seed after thee for an everlasting possession.
RSV : and said to me, `Behold, I will make you fruitful, and multiply you, and I will make of you a company of peoples, and will give this land to your descendants after you for an everlasting possession.'
ASV : and said unto me, Behold, I will make thee fruitful, and multiply thee, and I will make of thee a company of peoples, and will give this land to thy seed after thee for an everlasting possession.
ESV : and said to me, 'Behold, I will make you fruitful and multiply you, and I will make of you a company of peoples and will give this land to your offspring after you for an everlasting possession.'
ERVEN : He said to me, 'I will make you a great family. I will give you many children and you will be a great people. Your family will own this land forever.'

BNV : আর এখন তোমার দুই পুত্র, আমার আসার আগেই মিশর দেশে এদের জন্ম হয়েছিল| তোমরা দুই পুত্র মনঃশি ও ইফ্রয়িম আমার কাছে নিজের পুত্রের মতই হোক| তারা আমার কাছে রূবেণ ও শিমিয়োনের মত হোক|
KJV : And now thy two sons, Ephraim and Manasseh, which were born unto thee in the land of Egypt before I came unto thee into Egypt, [are] mine; as Reuben and Simeon, they shall be mine.
YLT : `And now, thy two sons, who are born to thee in the land of Egypt, before my coming unto thee to Egypt, mine they [are]; Ephraim and Manasseh, as Reuben and Simeon they are mine;
RV : And now thy two sons, which were born unto thee in the land of Egypt before I came unto thee into Egypt, are mine; Ephraim and Manasseh, even as Reuben and Simeon, shall be mine.

ERVEN : Now you have two sons. These two sons were born here in the country of Egypt before I came. Your two sons, Ephraim and Manasseh, will be like my own sons. They will be like Reuben and Simeon to me.

BNV : সুতরাং ঐ দুই জন পুত্র আমারই হোক| তারা আমার সব কিছুর অংশীদার হবে| কিন্তু এছাড়া তোমার যদি আর অন্য পুত্র থাকে তবে তা তোমারই হোক| আর তারা ইফ্রয়িম ও মনঃশির কাছে সন্তানের মতই হোক - অর্থাত্‌ ভবিষ্যতে তারা ইফ্রয়িম ও মনঃশির অধিকারভুক্ত সব কিছুরই অংশীদার হবে|
KJV : And thy issue, which thou begettest after them, shall be thine, [and] shall be called after the name of their brethren in their inheritance.
YLT : and thy family which thou hast begotten after them are thine; by the name of their brethren they are called in their inheritance.
RV : And thy issue, which thou begettest after them, shall be thine; they shall be called after the name of their brethren in their inheritance.
RSV : And the offspring born to you after them shall be yours; they shall be called by the name of their brothers in their inheritance.

ERVEN : So these two boys will be my sons. They will share in everything I own. But if you have other sons, they will be your sons. But they will also be like sons to Ephraim and Manasseh—that is, in the future, they will share in everything that Ephraim and Manasseh own.

BNV : পদ্দম্-অরাম থেকে আসার সময় রাহেল মারা গেলেন| এই ঘটনায আমি অত্যন্ত দুঃখ পেলাম| আমরা যখন ইফ্রাথের দিকে যাচ্ছিলাম তখন কনান দেশে তিনি মারা গেলেন| আমি তাকে সেখানে ইফ্রাথ যাবার পথের ধারে কবর দিলাম| (ইফ্রাথ বৈত্‌লেহেমের অপর নাম|)”
KJV : And as for me, when I came from Padan, Rachel died by me in the land of Canaan in the way, when yet [there was] but a little way to come unto Ephrath: and I buried her there in the way of Ephrath; the same is Bethlehem.
YLT : `And I -- in my coming in from Padan-[Aram] Rachel hath died by me in the land of Canaan, in the way, while yet a kibrath of land to enter Ephrata, and I bury her there in the way of Ephrata, which [is] Bethlehem.`
RV : And as for me, when I came from Paddan, Rachel died by me in the land of Canaan in the way, when there was still some way to come unto Ephrath: and I buried her there in the way to Ephrath (the same is Beth-lehem).
RSV : For when I came from Paddan, Rachel to my sorrow died in the land of Canaan on the way, when there was still some distance to go to Ephrath; and I buried her there on the way to Ephrath (that is, Bethlehem)."

ERVEN : On the trip from Paddan Aram, Rachel died in the land of Canaan. This made me very sad. We were still traveling toward Ephrath. I buried her there on the road to Ephrath." (Ephrath is Bethlehem.)

BNV : তখন ইস্রায়েল য়োষেফের পুত্রদের দেখে জিজ্ঞাসা করলেন, “এই বালকরা কারা?”
KJV : And Israel beheld Joseph’s sons, and said, Who [are] these?
YLT : And Israel seeth the sons of Joseph, and saith, `Who [are] these?`
RV : And Israel beheld Joseph-s sons, and said, Who are these?
RSV : When Israel saw Joseph's sons, he said, "Who are these?"
ASV : And Israel beheld Josephs sons, and said, Who are these?
ESV : When Israel saw Joseph's sons, he said, "Who are these?"
ERVEN : Then Israel saw Joseph's sons. Israel said, "Who are these boys?"

BNV : য়োষেফ তাঁর পিতাকে বললেন, “এরা আমার পুত্ররা, ঈশ্বরই এদের আমায় দিয়েছেন|”ইস্রায়েল বললেন, “তোমার ছেলেদের আমার কাছে নিয়ে এস| আমি তাদের আশীর্বাদ করব|”
KJV : And Joseph said unto his father, They [are] my sons, whom God hath given me in this [place.] And he said, Bring them, I pray thee, unto me, and I will bless them.
YLT : and Joseph saith unto his father, `They [are] my sons, whom God hath given to me in this [place];` and he saith, `Bring them, I pray thee, unto me, and I bless them.`
RV : And Joseph said unto his father, They are my sons, whom God hath given me here. And he said, Bring them, I pray thee, unto me, and I will bless them.
RSV : Joseph said to his father, "They are my sons, whom God has given me here." And he said, "Bring them to me, I pray you, that I may bless them."

ERVEN : Joseph said to his father, "These are my sons. These are the boys God gave me." Israel said, "Bring your sons to me. I will bless them."

BNV : ইস্রায়েল বৃদ্ধ হয়েছিলেন এবং চোখেও ভালো দেখতে পেতেন না| তাই য়োষেফ দুই পুত্রকে পিতার খুব কাছে নিয়ে এলেন| ইস্রায়েল তাদের গলা জড়িয়ে চুমু খেলেন|
KJV : Now the eyes of Israel were dim for age, [so that] he could not see. And he brought them near unto him; and he kissed them, and embraced them.
YLT : And the eyes of Israel have been heavy from age, he is unable to see; and he bringeth them nigh unto him, and he kisseth them, and cleaveth to them;
RV : Now the eyes of Israel were dim for age, so that he could not see. And he brought them near unto him; and he kissed them, and embraced them.

BNV : তারপর ইস্রায়েল য়োষেফকে বললেন, “আমি ভাবতেই পারি নি য়ে কখনও তোমার মুখ দেখতে পাব| কিন্তু দেখ! ঈশ্বর আমাকে তোমার এমনকি তোমার পুত্রদেরও দেখতে দিলেন|”
KJV : And Israel said unto Joseph, I had not thought to see thy face: and, lo, God hath shewed me also thy seed.
YLT : and Israel saith unto Joseph, `To see thy face I had not thought, and lo, God hath shewed me also thy seed.`
RV : And Israel said unto Joseph, I had not thought to see thy face: and, lo, God hath let me see thy seed also.
RSV : And Israel said to Joseph, "I had not thought to see your face; and lo, God has let me see your children also."
ASV : And Israel said unto Joseph, I had not thought to see thy face: and, lo, God hath let me see thy seed also.
ESV : And Israel said to Joseph, "I never expected to see your face; and behold, God has let me see your offspring also."
ERVEN : Then Israel said to Joseph, "I never thought I would see your face again. But look! God has let me see you and your children."

BNV : তারপর য়োষেফ ইস্রায়েলের কোল থেকে তার পুত্রদের নিলেন এবং তারা ইস্রায়েলের সামনে মাথা নত করল|
KJV : And Joseph brought them out from between his knees, and he bowed himself with his face to the earth.
YLT : And Joseph bringeth them out from between his knees, and boweth himself on his face to the earth;

BNV : য়োষেফ ইফ্রয়িমকে তার ডানদিকে এবং মনঃশিকে তার বাঁ দিকে রাখলেন| (সুতরাং ইফ্রয়িম ইস্রায়েলের বাম দিকে ও মনঃশি তার ডান দিকে রইল|)
KJV : And Joseph took them both, Ephraim in his right hand toward Israel’s left hand, and Manasseh in his left hand toward Israel’s right hand, and brought [them] near unto him.
YLT : and Joseph taketh them both, Ephraim in his right hand towards Israel`s left, and Manasseh in his left towards Israel`s right, and bringeth [them] nigh to him.
RV : And Joseph took them both, Ephraim in his right hand toward Israel-s left hand, and Manasseh in his left hand toward Israel-s right hand, and brought them near unto him.

ERVEN : Joseph put Ephraim on his right side and Manasseh on his left side. (So Ephraim was on Israel's left side, and Manasseh was on Israel's right side.)

BNV : কিন্তু ইস্রায়েল তাঁর হাত আড়াআড়ি ভাবে রেখে তার ডান হাত ছোট পুত্র ইফ্রয়িমের মাথায় রাখলেন| ইস্রায়েল তার বাম হাত বড় পুত্র মনঃশির মাথায় রাখলেন| মনঃশি প্রথমজাত হলেও তিনি বাম হাত তার উপরে রাখলেন|
KJV : And Israel stretched out his right hand, and laid it upon Ephraim’s head, who [was] the younger, and his left hand upon Manasseh’s head, guiding his hands wittingly; for Manasseh [was] the firstborn.
YLT : And Israel putteth out his right hand, and placeth [it] upon the head of Ephraim, who [is] the younger, and his left hand upon the head of Manasseh; he hath guided his hands wisely, for Manasseh [is] the first-born.
RV : And Israel stretched out his right hand, and laid it upon Ephraim-s head, who was the younger, and his left hand upon Manasseh-s head, guiding his hands wittingly; for Manasseh was the firstborn.

ESV : And Israel stretched out his right hand and laid it on the head of Ephraim, who was the younger, and his left hand on the head of Manasseh, crossing his hands (for Manasseh was the firstborn).
ERVEN : But Israel crossed his hands and put his right hand on the head of the younger boy Ephraim. Then he put his left hand on Manasseh, even though Manasseh was the firstborn.

BNV : ইস্রায়েল য়োষেফকে আশীর্বাদ করে বললেন,“আমার পূর্বপুরুষ অব্রাহাম ও ইসহাক আমাদের ঈশ্বরের উপাসনা করতেন| আর সেই ঈশ্বরই সারা জীবন আমায় গ্রহণ করেছেন|
KJV : And he blessed Joseph, and said, God, before whom my fathers Abraham and Isaac did walk, the God which fed me all my life long unto this day,
YLT : And he blesseth Joseph, and saith, `God, before whom my fathers Abraham and Isaac walked habitually: God who is feeding me from my being unto this day:
RV : And he blessed Joseph, and said, The God before whom my fathers Abraham and Isaac did walk, the God which hath fed me all my life long unto this day,
RSV : And he blessed Joseph, and said, "The God before whom my fathers Abraham and Isaac walked, the God who has led me all my life long to this day,

ERVEN : And Israel blessed Joseph and said, "My ancestors, Abraham and Isaac, worshiped our God, and that God has led me all my life.

BNV : তিনিই সেই দেবদূত যিনি আমায় সব সমস্যা থেকে রক্ষা করেছেন| আমার প্রার্থনা, তিনিই এই পুত্রদের আশীর্বাদ করবেন| এখন এই পুত্ররা আমার এবং আমার পূর্বপুরুষ অব্রাহাম ও ইসহাকের নামে আখ্যাত হোক| আমার প্রার্থনা তারা য়েন পৃথিবীতে বৃদ্ধি পযে বহু বংশ ও বহু জাতি হয়|”
KJV : The Angel which redeemed me from all evil, bless the lads; and let my name be named on them, and the name of my fathers Abraham and Isaac; and let them grow into a multitude in the midst of the earth.
YLT : the Messenger who is redeeming me from all evil doth bless the youths, and my name is called upon them, and the name of my fathers Abraham and Isaac; and they increase into a multitude in the midst of the land.`
RV : the angel which hath redeemed me from all evil, bless the lads; and let my name be named on them, and the name of my fathers Abraham and Isaac; and let them grow into a multitude in the midst of the earth.

ERVEN : He was the Angel who saved me from all my troubles. And I pray that he will bless these boys. Now they will have my name and the name of our ancestors, Abraham and Isaac. I pray that they will grow to become great families and nations on earth."

BNV : য়োষেফ যখন দেখলেন তাঁর পিতা ডান হাত ইফ্রয়িমের মাথায় রেখেছেন, তখন তিনি খুশী হলেন না| য়োষেফ পিতার হাত ইফ্রযিমের মাথা থেকে তুলে ধরে মনঃশির মাথায় রাখতে চাইলেন|
KJV : And when Joseph saw that his father laid his right hand upon the head of Ephraim, it displeased him: and he held up his father’s hand, to remove it from Ephraim’s head unto Manasseh’s head.
YLT : And Joseph seeth that his father setteth his right hand on the head of Ephraim, and it is wrong in his eyes, and he supporteth the hand of his father to turn it aside from off the head of Ephraim to the head of Manasseh;
RV : And when Joseph saw that his father laid his right hand upon the head of Ephraim, it displeased him: and he held up his father-s hand, to remove it from Ephraim-s head unto Manasseh-s head.
RSV : When Joseph saw that his father laid his right hand upon the head of Ephraim, it displeased him; and he took his father's hand, to remove it from Ephraim's head to Manasseh's head.
ASV : And when Joseph saw that his father laid his right hand upon the head of Ephraim, it displeased him: and he held up his fathers hand, to remove it from Ephraims head unto Manassehs head.
ESV : When Joseph saw that his father laid his right hand on the head of Ephraim, it displeased him, and he took his father's hand to move it from Ephraim's head to Manasseh's head.
ERVEN : Joseph saw that his father put his right hand on Ephraim's head. This didn't make Joseph happy. Joseph took his father's hand because he wanted to move it from Ephraim's head and put it on Manasseh's head.

BNV : য়োষেফ তার পিতাকে বললেন, “আপনি আপনার ডান হাত ভুল জনের মাথার উপর রেখেছেন| মনঃশিই প্রথমজাত| তার উপরেই ডান হাত রাখুন|”
KJV : And Joseph said unto his father, Not so, my father: for this [is] the firstborn; put thy right hand upon his head.
YLT : and Joseph saith unto his father, `Not so, my father, for this [is] the first-born; set thy right hand on his head.`
RV : And Joseph said unto his father, Not so, my father: for this is the firstborn; put thy right hand upon his head.
RSV : And Joseph said to his father, "Not so, my father; for this one is the first-born; put your right hand upon his head."

ESV : And Joseph said to his father, "Not this way, my father; since this one is the firstborn, put your right hand on his head."
ERVEN : Joseph said to his father, "You have your right hand on the wrong boy. Manasseh is the firstborn. Put your right hand on him."

BNV : কিন্তু তাঁর পিতা তর্ক করে বললেন, “আমি জানি বত্স, আমি জানি| মনঃশি প্রথমজাত সে মহান হবে, বহুলোকের পিতা হবে কিন্তু ছোট জন বড় জনের চেয়েও মহান হবে আর তার বংশ আরও অনেক হবে|”
KJV : And his father refused, and said, I know [it,] my son, I know [it:] he also shall become a people, and he also shall be great: but truly his younger brother shall be greater than he, and his seed shall become a multitude of nations.
YLT : And his father refuseth, and saith, `I have known, my son, I have known; he also becometh a people, and he also is great, and yet, his young brother is greater than he, and his seed is the fulness of the nations;`

ERVEN : But his father refused and said, "I know, son. I know. Manasseh is the firstborn. He will be great and will be the father of many people. But his younger brother will be greater than he is. And the younger brother's family will be much larger."

BNV : তাই ইস্রায়েল সেই দিন এই বলে আশীর্বাদ করলেন,“ইস্রায়েল কাউকে আশীর্বাদ করতে তোমাদেরই নাম ব্যবহার করবে| তারা বলবে, “ঈশ্বর তোমাকে য়েন মনঃশি ও ইফ্রযিমের মতো করেন|”এইভাবে ইস্রায়েল মনঃশির চাইতে ইফ্রয়িমকে বড় করলেন|
